Knoxville, Tennessee!
Just got back from the show. He was incredible! Great energy, great mood, and definitely a lot more confident and more comfortable than he was during the first leg of the tour! I was lucky to be able to see the first two shows last October, but I have to say that the show tonight was much better.
Same setlist as before...he's still doing Turn It On and Shut Us Down. I was suprised at how great Turn It On sounded live! Most people were sitting during the show, but a group of us finally stood up during I Know I'm Not Wrong---we HAD to dance to that one!!! How can anyone be still during that song?!:D We actually stood for the rest of the show at that point---that was lots more fun! I'm glad the people around us were doing that too! We were sitting on the third row in the section to Lindsey's right. My daughter stole the aisle seat from me.:p Security was pretty tight, and I saw very few cameras--of course I really wasn't paying much attention to that since I'd already decided to put mine away and just enjoy the show. Like I said, security was kinda asshole-ish at some points. I can understand trying to keep folks from jumping onstage or something, but they were even trying to push us back during GYOW. Lindsey actually told us to "get off our asses" and "storm the aisles" or something like that before the song. My daughter REALLY wanted to play his guitar, and several people were encouraging us to go on up there, but I was still worried about Mr. Asshole security guy. Then Lindsey actually pointed at at my daughter as he came to the edge of the stage (ok, OBVIOUSLY Mr. Asshole security guy, Lindsey WANTED people to come up---duh! ), and she got to play his guitar. And I did too!! She said she grabbed his hand, and later she said, "Mommy, he SWEATED on me!!!!" Meh, maybe so, but she'll be taking a shower when she winds down in a bit...which needs to be soon since it's nearly 1am.... After the show---well, I'll admit that we ran out before he finished Shut Us Down:eek: --we went to the stage door to try to get a picture and autograph. No luck there. I don't know how they did it, but they snuck him out and away! I even got my husband to go back and forth between the front of the venue and the side street where we were standing. There was a pretty large crowd waiting at first, but then it dwindled down to just a few of us crazies.;) It was cold, but we were determined. Oh well, there WILL be another leg of this tour, right? Maybe it'll be warmer then, and we'll try again. Great show, as I said before. His voice was great. He sounded amazing. He looked pretty amazing too! He still says the same intros to the same songs, but he is actually adding a little to those speeches. When he introduced Brett, he said that Brett was versatile...then someone yelled and Lindsey commented that perhaps some of us knew the MANY different ways that Brett was versatile. Lindsey and the band definitely have a great time together and you can feel how much they really respect and like each other. I hope he lets the big Mac keep on knocking---I'd LOVE it if he'd do the other cd and tour with it like he's done with this one. Ok, I'm all over the road with this review (it's almost 1am, gimme a break!). Just wanted to post something to let Ledgies know that YES, there are some of us at the shows!:wavey: We had a great time! |
Thanks for posting tonight... Good to hear the show went well and ya had fun!
|
Thank you!
I was beginning to think Lindsey was playing to empty rooms!
How fun for your daughter, too. It will be something she'll always remember. I'm glad you had fun and VERY glad you posted. My "mini-Lindsey-tour" starts Friday. I can't wait! |
You should have stayed around! My twin brother and I were on the front row. Lindsey yelled out "Let's party at the Crowne Plaza"...my friend Sara invited my brother and I to come along so we went. About 40 min after the show we showed up and got some beers at the bar. Then Lindsey walked right in thru the door next to me! I shook his hand and introduced myself! He was VERY gracious and talked to my brother and I for about 5 minutes. We spent much more time there with the rest of the band but they seemed preoccupied with the pretty girls there! HA! It was a great evening. I got my pic taken with Lindsey! He asked my brother and I which one of us was the "evil twin" and then proceeded to look at my lip piercing and said "YOU actually look like the evil one!" We all laughed. Anyway...I'll get the pic up soon.
And oh yeah, the show was AWESOME. His solo on "I'm So Afraid" was killer! KILLER! GOLDUSTWMN77...It was SO nice to meet you! The picture my brother took of me, you, Sara and Tiffany is a good one! |

MondayMornin1-----It was great to see you and your daugther again. Your review above was great. I have nothing to add to it, except people might want to know that there are three new shirt this leg of the tour, and he is selling a signed copy of Under the Skin as well. I just wanted to give everyone the heads up on that. |
" He was VERY gracious and talked to my brother and I for about 5 minutes. "
~ Dying to know, what did you talk about? I say this b/c now I've thought of a million things I'd have liked to have said~ |
Noooooo!!! Can't believe I missed my shot at meeting him. Oh well, I wouldn't exactly belly up to the bar with my 9-yr-old daughter, anyway!:p
mylittledemon, so glad you got to meet him! That's awesome! WHAT did you say to him???? Wasn't that a great show?! His solo on ISA was incredible, even with the *slight* disruption going on in front of me.;) golddustwoman77, it was wonderful to see you again! Thanks again for offering to grab an autograph for me! I hope the show provided you with some happy distraction, if only for two hours! Thoughts and prayers with you and your family.:) |
Thanks for the reviews! :D
Brandon...happy you made it to a show! :] |
Yes, I have to agree. The Knoxville show was better than the Nashville show, even though security did seem to have their panties firmly wedged in their asscracks. They didn't bother me, though.. I had a fantastic view, so I was happy to stay at my seat. :)
I'm off to make the drive to Asheville. :) |

I just read an online article that said he did "I Am Waiting" at the Knoxville show. Did he?

In the middle of the article, the author makes it sound like he played "I Am Waiting" that night. At least, that's the way it reads to me. |

Thanks for the heads up. |
