Workout music

So what does everbody listen to when they're exercising/running/working out/biking/whatever? I used to just read or watch TV while I was on the elliptical, but since I got the mp3 & made a "workout" playlist, I've noticed that I burn far more calories listening to music. My pick tunes vary in tempo & intensity so I can vary my workout effort. Here are a few good ones:

World Turning
The Ledge
I Can't Wait
When The Sun Goes Down
Running Through the Garden
Ain't No Other Man - Aguilera
Rock Your Body - Timberlake
Molly's Lips - Nirvana
Best Of You - Foo Fighters (awesome!)
Otherside - RHCP
No Bad News - Patty Griffin
American Girl - Petty
Hardest Button to Button - White Stripes
I Want You To Want Me - Cheap Trick
Since U Been Gone - Kelly Clarkson
Delirious Love - Neil Diamond
Barracuda - Heart
Violet - Hole
Separate Ways - Journey
Somebody Told Me - The Killers
Change of Heart - Cyndi
Nightrain - GNR
We Got The Beat - Go Go's

Yeah, isn't that weird? I can't hardly workout while doing anything other than listening to music. Watching TV or reading totally slogs me down. It's the beats, man, it's the beats.
Lots of your songs are in my regular rotation, but it isn't the same every time b/c my ishuffle is on shuffle. But there has to be GYOW and CHAIN, because both are fast, and seem to speed up at the end parts with the guitar, and so I need those parts for Inspired Sprinting.
I just have to have fast songs, basically.

DrummerDeanna 03-13-2007 03:58 PM

I just have my mp3 player on random...but I have to skip any slow songs.

I do have a workout playlist...some of the songs on there:

Whenever Wherever - Shakira
Hips Don't Lie - Shakira
Baby Got Back
The whole Say You Will album
Matchbox 20s Mad Season
Relax - Frankie Goes to Hollywood
Some Wham!
Walking on Sunshine

There's more...but I have to go on the air now...

JazmenFlowers 03-13-2007 05:13 PM

I have a mix that I listen to. it's 30 minutes long and is a remix of all the hits from late 2006/early 2007 all seamlessly flowed together. it's perfect for me.

if anyone wants, I can try to upload it.

otherwise, I put my iPod on shuffle or watch TV.

DrummerDeanna 03-13-2007 05:15 PM

^^

Do you get tired of the same 30 minute mix though? That's why I just hit random and go - I got tired of my "workout" playlist...I really have to keep things different or I get bored...

not really. it's got lots of Xtina and Justin...who could tire of them?

I do change it up every now and then.

i can say honestly i have never been big on eithr of them but mostly that is out of ignorance . . . so i would like to hear some of their stuff picked by a fan.

well, if you are looking for something to hook you...then I'll select some stuff that I think are appropriate for that. the remixes may not really give you an insight into how awesome Xtina (and Justin) are.

skcin 03-14-2007 10:15 AM

Oh, that's not all that's on my workout playlist, just a few of my favorites that are there - and I always shuffle. I hate to get bored.

Early Madonna always seems to get my ass moving. There's also an Etta James live album called "Etta Rocks the House" that is on fi-yah!

no problem. even though it's the same track every time, it's so upbeat and got great remixed parts to it that it keeps me pumped up. I need to look for some other good megamixes.

I just got a Promo Dance remix of 2007 songs (although it's really more 2006) that is right at 32 mins long that I've been using. I'm also loving Beyonce's B-Day and I'm in the middle of making another mix to use.
