Predict Stevie's tour opener

A game:

Post your prediction of date and venue of Stevie/Eye Sack's tour opener. Winner gets a basket from Andre. ;) Or maybe something else.

I'll start.

Saturday, May 19th. White River Amphitheater outside Seattle.:wavey:

estranged4life 03-10-2007 10:41 PM

No tellin' actually...

I would say May 30th at the Zoo Amphitheater in OKC, but I think that is doubtful.

Rickypt 03-10-2007 10:48 PM

If you want the prize, you need to name the venue....not just the city!:D

Nixxxed 03-10-2007 11:13 PM

Friday, May 18

L.A.

Staples Center

SOLD OUT!!!

Beachwood Mac 03-10-2007 11:24 PM

^^ close but no cigar...

My prediction is based on the fact that Chris Isaak loves to surf and drink margaritas. San Diego - Coors Amphitheater - Cinco de Mayo (May 5 for the gringos)

Rickypt 03-10-2007 11:33 PM

Some info...just in case anyone wants to rethink their predictions.

--Chris Eye Sack is on solo tour until May 15th

--Stevie/Eye Sack have said their tour will begin in mid-May on the west coast.

--If they are playing Oklahoma City on May 30th, would they really be in Portland on May 26th? Just saying....

Beachwood Mac 03-10-2007 11:34 PM

Fine, now you tell us.

I am but not enough to know Chris' schedule. Now that I know more of the facts and checked MY schedule - I predict San Diego (actually Chula Vista) Coors Amphitheater on May 17th.

I actually figured this would put her in LA on the weekend. I planned on her skipping the OC :D

Stevie & Eye Sack at the Rosegarden in (the currently soggy but soon to be beautiful) Portland Oregon on her Bday - May 26th -
The show will begin approximately ten and one half minutes late because of a freak shawl/guitar strap incident. Oh yah , she will sing Leather and Lace as a surprise duet with . . . you guessed it . . . Michael Jackson.

and i think i gave away the andre basket in my mad-lib thread first  :xoxo:

    where do you come up with this ****???

and what is up with your sig??? :xoxo:

Sorcerer_NL 03-11-2007 06:42 AM

I predict:

May 26th, Bibelot in Dordrecht, The Netherlands.

A small club just around the corner.....

But I doubt it, she'll probably never tour Europe solo (again) :-( :-( :-(

That sucks major bigtime !

Musicman408 03-11-2007 07:07 AM

Guys, just a question, where have you all found the dates that already HAVE been announced because Ticketmaster isn't showing any of them and I need to tell my parents where to look for tickets before I go under the knife so they can get them before they go on sale.

Rickypt 03-11-2007 09:59 AM

^^Ethan, bud, you're hijacking my thread. But I'm going to answer your question. People are getting info on shows through a variety of sources. Some have heard on the radio in their local area, some have found through internet searches (like googling "Stevie Nicks" in the news section), some found out through friends, etc.

There is no magic place where concert dates are appearing, so there is nowhere for your parents to look. You should tell your parents to look at Paula's thread "Stevie and Eye Sack Tour Dates" because that is where info will be posted as we get it. They should also check pollstar.com and ticketmaster. And if they feel like wasting their time, they should check Nicksfix.

I hope that helps and I hope we can get back to my very fun game. :D

Okay, well as long as someone gives away that damn basket because I'm going to be long buried before that 20 questions game actually happens. ;)

gldstwmn 03-11-2007 12:48 PM

They'll start in the midwest somewhere, probably in Ohio or maybe Indiana then head further east.

How interesting - not even a thank you for your efforts, after his whining on 5 different threads that no one was responding to him. Yet he has time to make another "Official" thread, then not actually contribute anything to it.

Is it really? The fact that the tour is hitting the Zoo Amphitheater in OKC (instead of the Ford Center) and Chastain in Atlanta (instead of HiFi Amp) shows the size/type of venues that are going to be targeted on this tour. And, of course, its no secret that Stevie and Chris are casino acts now...

I think Stevie and the Mac have always like the Chastain...HiFi just sucks...Zoo AMp is prob cause they wanna be outdoors for the summer and it's a cool place...

I wouldn't call Stevie a casino act...a lot of big acts are playing casinos and it's not like she's playing **** showrooms...she's playing 5,000 seat event centers...

Now Chris on the other side of the coin:rolleyes:

Acts don't decide where they play- the promoters that are paying them to play do.

Acts play Chastain because of the solid season ticket base, and the small capacity, virtually ensuring a sellout. If Live Nation thought the Stevie/Chris package tour would even do 60-70% capacity business at HiFi, that's where they would be playing. Again, if the local promoter in OKC had any confidence that they could sell more than ~5,000-6,000 tickets, they would play a half-house cut down Ford Center.

Stevie definitely leans on the casino act side of the spectrum than the shed act she formerly was. Not that there's anything wrong with that- casinos pay more than promoters can afford to more often than not, since its all about getting traffic in the casino.

You don't think Stevie has any say at all in the venues she's playing? You don't think she chooses any?

Stevie's booking agent (along with Chris', in this instance) works with the promoter in a city (whether it's Live Nation, a local promoter, or a casino) to ensure the best deal, whether it be in terms of upfront money or gross potential, or other considerations.

If she was adamantly against a certain venue (ex. after experiencing an injustice there in the past), she wouldn't *have* to do it, of course. Ultimately, her representatives are acting on her behalf. I just don't happen to think she's of the mind where she's all that concerned about where she's playing, just how much money she's making. And, again, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

I agree with you....which is why I think Konocti is a possibility for the first time in Stevie tour history. But I still think it's a wild card, as I think she can still sell well in the Bay Area and will probably play Concord Pavilion.

I agree, since the Bay Area is one of her stronger markets. However, I'd be shocked if she played Marysville/Sleep Train Amp. over Konocti (for the Sacramento/NoCal market).

May 16, Save Mart Center, Fresno, CA. That's my final answer, Regis. :wavey:

Rickypt 03-16-2007 02:04 PM

I'm changing my prediction to May 19th, Greek Theater, Los Angeles. :wavey: :)
