Favorite Food Network Show!!!

So, I am sure a lot of us watch food network? Who is your fave personality and show?????

Personally, it is either between Giada, Paula Dean and Ina Garten....

skcin 03-01-2007 05:21 PM

There's already a thread about this. I thought I remembered already talking about it, so I used the "search" function and lo & behold, there it was. Enjoy!

Oh, you don;t suppose we could have another discussion though do you my friend? I think it would be great since it has been over a year and such.

Macfanforever 03-01-2007 06:29 PM

I love to cook so I watch this channel too much. I don't get the Semi Homemade lady. How hard is it to buy a store bought angel food cake and canned frosting and put the two together?

I like Paula because she does everything against the rules and reminds me of my Mom in the kitchen. I also like Ina because she was skinny when she started cooking and now she's pleasantly plump. Her food must be good. And, I like Giada because she so enjoys her food and has big boobs.

Paula Deen for sure. Words can't express my hatred of Rachael Ray, and Sandra Lee is a hopeless alcoholic. Why does she have to make a cocktail at the end of every show? Girl's got issues. Ina seems like a really nice lady, as does Giada. Giada has overpronouncing syndrome though, and that's really annoying to listen to.

 I know what you are talking about it is annoying. "So now for our pasta, we're going to add some parmasean oregiano. Know what I'm saying?

CelticGypsy 03-02-2007 12:10 AM

I like to watch Paula Deen and Rachel Ray's shows. Paula Deen is fun to watch. She's such a mom:xoxo: I love her and hope to look like her when I am her age. She is such a fun person to watch on tv and I love how she flirts with all the men in her audience.

I hate that they use "porn-like" music on Ina's cooking show. NOT that I would know what porn music sounded like:D It freaks me out when her hubby Jeffrey shows up and they play the weird music:laugh: Plus, she does that weird thing with her breathing like she has false teeth or she is sucking air while she's talking. It is just so weird to hear that sound. They also use that music with Giada too but Giada is young and cute so it doesn't offend me as much as it does with Ina's show. I do love Ina's kitchen/house though. It is really beautiful.

Most Ledgies try to avoid duplicate threads. It's a shame to take up so much of the board's bandwidth on the same subject. Marty & Lisa are nice enough to provide us with a site to discuss anything we want, the least we can all do is have some respect for them & not waste their space. :wavey:

what on earth is there to hate about giada??!

I think there should be a new rule: All threads must be European Ledgie friendly.

 Hilarious. Yeah, she is really good. Love her food.

Sarah 03-03-2007 08:43 AM

On the other hand, I totally hate Sandra Lee. I don't need a show to tell me how to read the Betty Crocker box. Oh, what, the difference is that you put tacky dollar store trinkets on the table BESIDE your frozen-for-your-convenience roast?

Her tips suck, and her stuff is always tacky. Cheese-O-Rama.

Where's the puke icon when I need it?

That's a good show actually. I usually leave it on when I'm browsing through channels, and that says a lot, because I only watch tv for about 30 minutes every week. I honestly don't even know why I still have cable. :wavey:

Mari 03-05-2007 07:56 AM

Cable.. I hope one day we'll be able to choose our own package of nets.. I'd throw off all the german tv, a lot of the dutch commercials, add bbc 1 to 4.
Hm, maybe they'll do that with digital tv soon.

danax6 03-05-2007 08:22 AM

Gawd yes, who watches German tv with all the overdubs? Horrendous. @Home does have all the BBC's, that's part of the reason why I am going to get one of their cable boxes soon.

Stew_Matthews 03-05-2007 09:27 AM

I haven't seen any of these US food shows but have seen the UK stuff. Over here we have food shows on Russian TV - terrible - ten things to do with a cabbage - seriously! It's tragic!!

Oh, that reminds me, I sometimes watch cooking programs on the BBC and more often than not it totally disgusts me. Last time I tuned in they were making haggis. BARF.

Wow! Ya'll are into my local girl Paula too?

I love Paula! Although in Savannah, we don't see her as often because she jet-sets so much.

She does film her shows here in Savannah, and there was real controversy about her new show "Paula's Party" in the last few months. Not sure exactly, but everyone was making fun of how she acted on it. I thought it was hilarious!

I've been eating at her place since her first days at The Best Western hotel's restaurant, and then she moved to City Market...and now, she's got the biggest restaurant in town on Broughton Street! Impressive...without even considering her TV shows and books/magazines.

What... no love for the master of the grill Bobby Flay...?
Bobby is my grilling hero... Hot Off The Grill? Like it because he always cocktails to go with the food.... Throwdown?

Alton Brown... Another good one... the science behind the food....

Another one who is not on the network is Rick Bayless... does alot of mexican food... Belongs on the Food Network, but is on PBS... has some great cookbooks out there too.

Jennifer 03-05-2007 10:09 PM

Nigella Feasts. I have no idea why, but I really like her show. The things she cooks are simple and she makes cooking look really easy.
