The OFFICIAL Alcoholic Preference Poll!!!!!!

So, what's your preference?

goldustsongbird 02-25-2007 02:45 AM

Everything that doesn't suck. I don't like whisky or scotch. But almost anything else is fair game. I'm not crazy about beer, but if that's all you've got...

What can I say, I'm Italian-Scottish. We like our alch.

HomerMcvie 02-25-2007 02:48 AM

^^^Dammit, I forgot about scotch. Now THAT's the only one that I won't touch(okay, that and gin).:o

DrummerDeanna 02-25-2007 02:49 AM

Absolutely gin. I love me some gin. Bombay Sapphire is my favorite ( ) But I do enjoy Tanqueray as well.

I had two free gin and tonics last night..made my night. It's definitely my alcohol of choice.

I can no longer drink Vodka (long and vomitous story). Everything else is ok - and I love fruity/girly drinks (pina coladas)...but when it's all said and done a good gin and tonic makes me one happy happy girl.

DrummerDeanna 02-25-2007 02:52 AM

^^

Guess I won't be drinking with you guys :p

Ooor....all the gin left for me...so therefore I can totally drink with you guys...yes, I like that one better :D

^^^De, we're definitely not stomach companions! Whew, I had the worst night of my life, on gin. I was about 18, and can still picture it like it was yesterday. Good Lard I was sick. Begging my friends to leave me to die. Second place honors would go to peppermint schnapps!

That would be me and Vodka. And lately any sweet and sour drink. Good God I just pray for death after drinking Vodka. My stomach actually turns just thinking about it. It's a shame, really, because I enjoyed Vodka drinks.....but one night after a day of no food and a bottle of store-brand Vodka turned me off the stuff really really quick.

Take all the gin in the house! Please.

I had a cocktail tonight. Vermouth with... something else. I don't even know, I just ordered the same thing my sister in law did. It was good.

Wild_Heart03 02-25-2007 02:57 AM

Rum for me. My main preference is midori sour, but I love rum every now and then.

mikeschmike 02-25-2007 02:59 AM

I chose all. Vodka, rum, tequila, beer (on occasion). It all tastes good to me. In moderation, of course

michelle2677 02-25-2007 03:00 AM

I said beer but it doesnt make me a jolly fellow

DrummerDeanna 02-25-2007 03:02 AM

Which should be another poll (which I'd make if I could figure out how) - Are you a Happy or Sad or Mad or Abusive drunk?

Me...I'm the happiest drunk around - and I get very flirty...

Oddly, rum is really my favorite, but I rarely drink it. I guess mainly because I like rum and COKE, but I don't drink any caffeine after "my" morning. The last time I ordered rum and cokes(specifically asking for caffeine free....bartender told me that the Diet Coke was caffeine free....I could tell I'd been drugged, several times. I asked her if she'd been giving me caffeine free, LIKE I ORDERED? She told me that she forgotten. I was up all night.)
Anyway, pardon the ramble, that's why I don't drink rum very often....if I do, it's rum and Sprite......but it's just not the same.

DrummerDeanna 02-25-2007 03:36 AM

^^
You know, I've never had a Sex on the Beach....how odd...I've just realized that...I may try one next weekend! Wait...is there Vodka in it?

HomerMcvie 02-25-2007 03:53 AM

^^^There's usually Vodka in everything. It's the CHEAPEST liquor of them all!

sparky 02-25-2007 04:12 AM

It's well documented.

Tequila.
Patron.
Silver.

If I drink anything else, its f*ck off more expensive than that.

Life is too short to drink cheap hooch.

So much for the word on the street, being that you're a cheap date!

ryan8472 02-25-2007 04:39 AM

Vodka. Cheap vodka. Like Dubra cheap.

Gypsy-Rhiannon 02-25-2007 04:39 AM

I chose wine as it's what I drink mostly. But I am rather parcial to Southern Comfort and Bacardi Breezers!

Au Contraire.

Easy? Yes.

Cheap? Never.

danax6 02-25-2007 08:23 AM

I went with rum. I'm a Bacardi Coke girl all the way.

bretonbanquet 02-25-2007 09:07 AM

Beer for me  Or wine if there's food around.. Anything else wrecks my delicate equilibrium

Damn. That figures.

I did recently try Vodka again, as it's been years since my vomitous night of horror. Still a no-go. I was sick again, not as bad as the first time, but I still felt like ass. I even took it easy as it was my first romp with Vodka since it had wronged me....but apparently me and Vodka are not meant to be.

What about Night Train or Wild Irish Rose?

And I can't believe no one has picked Moonshine. My great-grandpappy used to make it.

I'm a recovering alcoholic. When I drank, I drank Patron Anejo straight like a fine sipping scotch. It's that smooth. I didn't mess with the Reposado, although the oak barrel aging for 6 months is nice it had a bite to it that I didn't care for. The Silver had nothing on the Anejo. If you are going to drink Silver you may as well just drink 1800 or the cheaper stuff. The only difference with the Silver is that is is clear.

In college, I once drank a bottle of Night Train. Man, it FUKCED me up, but good!!!! Remember the voice that used to say "Soooooooul Train". I kept singing "Niiiiiiight Train" all night long. Good times, I tell you!

My friend from Tennessee told me her family used to make it, and as far back as four years old, they told her, "If the police come, that is water, sweetie."

WildHeart69 02-25-2007 03:55 PM

its whiskey for me no doubt, with rum a close second because of its versitility...

Rickypt 02-25-2007 04:14 PM

Wine for me. Gin makes me depressed for some reason. Trying to ease up on the vodka. Beer makes me feel fat.

****. And I was hoping to drink with you someday.

Comparing silver to 1800? Blasphemy!

It tastes so smooth to me, and never, ever gives me a hangover.

Anejo is good too, but me likey the Silver.

Cheap tequila always gives me hang. I hear its the dye they usually put in it.
