The end is nigh....

... just thought I'd let anyone who is interested know that my hubby and I are seperating. After a hellish week when he came home unannounced from his work abroad, I told him that we can't go on like this and I no longer want to be with him. He was a git for most of the week but was like the guy I love on the Friday before he left to go back to work. This of course, has screwed my head even more! The house is for sale as it's ridiculously expensive and the plan as of now is to find a smaller, cheaper house for me and the kids. I really hope that I have the strngth to see this through because ultimately we have grown apart and we just don't make each other happy. It's just hard when you've been with someone for so long!

I'm so sorry to hear this Pip but I know you're strong enough to make it through. I know it isn't worth much but my thoughts really will be with you, honey.

estranged4life 02-19-2007 06:56 PM

Just hang in there my friend. I can imagine how hard it must be for you at this time.

michelle2677 02-19-2007 06:59 PM

My thoughts are definitely with you and your family. You have to do what makes you happy and what you feel is best. I know its hard now, but i imagine its a bit of a relief as well. You will get through it

It always does. You've got to do what's in your heart. Life is short.

sara1998 02-19-2007 08:40 PM

I'm glad you're smart enough to realize that you have to please yourself before you can please anyone else. Keeping a marriage together for the sake of the other mate or the children is the worst thing you could do. Making yourself happy will ultimately make your kids happier in the long run. I wish you much happiness, and lots of luck. Being a single mother is no easy job.

bretonbanquet 02-19-2007 08:42 PM

Lots of good advice here  Good luck going forward, we're all thinking of you :)

Livia 02-19-2007 09:12 PM

So sorry to hear about this - you're a tough gal and I know you'll get through it just fine. Sounds like you are doing what's best for everyone involved.

We're here for you...

not to be a tagger in the line of Stevie quotes, but I've already told you how I feel and this just feels so apropos.

in my heart I leave great expectations...that life will once more be a celebration

GypsySorcerer 02-19-2007 10:49 PM

I'll be thinking of you during this difficult time, Pip. Best wishes to you.

Thanks. Cory will be 8 in April and Rhiannon will be 11 in May. I think it upsets me the most for them. Cory isn't really too close to his Dad.. he is very much a Mummy's boy. But Rhiannon adores him. She knows things are not great right now but I don't think she realises a split is on the cards. I know I need to talk to them both about it but I've been putting it off until it's really necessary.

Mike has actually called twice since he has been back in Venezuela. I think telling him I wanted to split has made him realise the seriousness of the situation. I was always the one to just go with the flow.

Mari 02-20-2007 08:21 AM

I'm really sorry to hear this, Pip, wish you a lot of strength to get through this.
I bet your kids already know something is going on, they probably catch the mood.. but it must be difficult to tell them. Lots of strength for that!

It's going to be hurtful for them, especially Rhiannon, but I still believe that you have to be happy in order for your kids to be. They will not like the decision at first, but I truely believe that a happier mom=happier kids. I'm really thinking of you, Pip. I hope everything turns out for the best.

I'm really sorry to hear about this. I'm a firm believer that all bad things happen for a reason though right now it may be hard to believe. My sister got divorced not too long ago. She got married at age 16. Got divorced. She has two grown children, one under age 18 & two grandchildren who all live with her at the moment. I don't know how she does it sometimes. Anyway, she has a boyfriend (divorced, too) who seems really nice, has a sense of humor. I met one of his daughters, around 8, really cute. They seem really happy together. So I guess what I'm trying to say is hang in there. Things will get better.
