Lindsey's Solo Album Sales
Just out of curiosity, could someone post the current sales of Liddy's solo albums? It would be very much appreciated.
Thank you, Ethan |

I've always enjoyed tracking album sales and chart placements, etc. I don't base my appreciation for an artist/song/album on those statistics, but I do enjoy having all the facts. :) To answer Ethan... I don't have any current numbers for Lindsey's solo albums. But given that none of them have reached "gold" status (which is a reflection of the amount of copies shipped over the years, but not necessarily sold), it's safe to say that they've each sold less than 500,000 copies. |

I'm curious about this as well. I read an interview recently and Lindsey said he hoped/expected the album to sell about 200,000 copies. Is he anywhere near that? Also, how many copies has OOTC sold?

Ethan , I can't quote you figures but from articles i've read here and there I believe Law and order sold the most copies. Something that LB said in an interview makes me think it sold about 300, 000 plus. Go insane - something similar.
OOTC (my personal favourite sold the worst, not even 100,000.) And I don't know what the current figures are for UTS. If he hopes to sell 200,000 or so, maybe it's doing better than expected. |
He said that "If it sells 150,000 or 200,000 copies by summer I'll be very happy" [paraphrasing]. I think remember reading that OOTC sold 125,000 or something like that. Not sure about the rest.

Is Ethan the first person to ask how Lindsey's solo albums have sold? Get a grip, folks.
It's actually kinda funny because you all sound so defensive. |

What I meant was, for the same reason that someone might seek to find out how many albums Lindsey has sold would be the same reason someone might give 2 sh*ts about Britney shaving her head...curiousity. Wise @$$. |
I don't see the problem with wanting to know why. With artists like FM, LB, SN etc. the subject will always come up because every time you read a review or article about someone related to Rumours you hear "one of the biggest selling albums ever" "100bajillion copies sold" etc. It's only natural that someone might think "Wow, Rumours sold that much so I wonder how well 'X album' did in comparison?"
Some people find it interesting, some people couldn't care one way or the other. In the end it doesn't really matter whether you're interested or not. |
It still surprises me that out of those first 3 albums, OOTC sold the least copies. It's the only album actually backed by a tour, he did quite some promo for it, it got the best reviews out of all three, and it's the most commercial one. Or, I should say, easiest to accept by the general audience.

Kind of funny how it's always easier to find fault in others. |

There are few people that really talk about (the perception of) music here. |

I too am curious, and have asked the same question previously, but no one seems to know where to find the info. oh well. |

I have been reading lots of ****ty threads about Stevies and Lindsey personal lifes about Lindseys wife and so on. And then someone asks about album sales and that is pointless? Now come on. I have been interested in that by myself. I`d like to know the numbers too. Why? Yes why. Why is anyone here? Why spending time on the internet for a hobby. |

I don't personally feel that Ethan's (musicman408) question was pointless. In fact, it's an interesting one. However, other Ledgies have deemed him to be a nuisance, and won't cut him even the smallest amount of slack. So my response wasn't in regards to the legitimacy of Ethan's question... it was directed to those people who can't manage to muster the self control to refrain from participating in the very same threads they loudly decry as "pointless." |

Over here, the home of his biggest fans, they just do the same. And I ask myself; how long must the man say that albumsales is NOT his main focus before people accept and go INTO the art and discuss THAT? |

Man, this thread is so Raven.

My reply truly was in response to Carrie's assertion that Ethan now has "carte blanche" to create as many "pointless threads" as he wishes. If she, or anyone else, feels that this or any of Ethan's other threads are pointless, then they should stay away from them. It's as simple as it sounds. No one forces anyone to read a thread. Glance at the subject line and who posted it, and if it's not your cup of tea then move on to something else. |
By the way, despite protestations to the contrary, I have a feeling that if this album had been a massive sales success for Lindsey, there would have been much rejoicing on this board.
Every time a favorable critical review is posted, a round of cheers goes up in praise of the journalist for seeing Lindsey's "vision," so I imagine the same would happen if the album caught on with the public, too. I'm not saying that as if it's a bad thing, mind you. |

My interest in knowing the "sales" is to know how many people in the world have a Lindsey album not how much money Lindsey is making. Weird to me that the only reason someone assumes another is curious is from a $$$ standpoint.
As to discussions of Lindsey other than "music" IMO Lindsey is a man not a marionette. |
