Oh yes - all 3 news networks here are now running the snippet every half hour. They've even added **** like "Other Bald Babes" with clips of Sigourney from Aliens 3, Sinead, the chick from the first Star Trek movie, and Natalie Portman from that Vendetta movie last year.

And when the Britney story is over? Anna Anna Anna Anna!!!!!!!!!

Sighting of pop star at tattoo parlor comes amid reports of brief rehab stint

LOS ANGELES - Britney Spears appeared in a tattoo parlor in California with her head shaved completely bald.

Video on KABC-TV showed the newly shorn Spears with tiny tattoos on the back of her neck as she sat Friday night for a new tattoo - a pair of red and pink lips.

"She just wanted something real small on her wrist, something dainty," Max Gott, the tattoo artist at Body and Soul in Sherman Oaks, told the TV station. "She got some cute little lips on her wrist."

Derrik Snell, who works at the tattoo parlor, said Spears showed up without notice and stayed for about 90 minutes as about 60 fans, photographers and gawkers gathered outside.

"She seemed fine," Snell said. "I didn't really notice (the hairdo) at first, she had a hood on when she showed up."

The appearance came the same day as reports on TV and Web sites that Spears, who has drawn criticism for her recent partying and sloppy behavior, had briefly checked into rehab.

Larry Rudolph, Spears' manager, could not be reached for comment.

Syndicated entertainment TV show "Extra" first reported that Spears had entered a treatment facility. Celebrity Web site TMZ.com then said the singer had entered a treatment center but had checked out one day later. Neither revealed their sources.

People magazine's Web site, citing "a source," said Spears had gone in and out of rehab, and identified the facility as Eric Clapton's Crossroads center on the Caribbean island of Antigua.

"Access Hollywood" then said the reports were not true, but did not cite a source.

A woman who answered the phone at Crossroads told The Associated Press that she could not confirm or deny anyone's presence at the facility.

Angelique Uram, a Spears fan who stood on the tattoo parlor's sidewalk for Friday night's spectacle, was aghast at the singer's new look.

"We could see her in the mirror, and her head is completely shaved," she told KABC. "It looks terrible."

Police arrived to control the crowd and helped Spears' bodyguards guide her into a waiting SUV, her head covered by a hooded sweat shirt.

Definitely. It seems as though every day something new and disturbing comes out about Britney's latest escapade. That's not the kind of environment those kids should grow up in. At least with Federline they won't always be thrown into the spotlight with their deranged mom. :distress:

My cousin did this one time. She had always had long hair and just got so sick of it she completely shaved it off one day.

She's definitely unstable, and more important, she's completely stupid. That is a scary combination. She needs to be put into some sort of massive psychiatric therapy if she ever wants a chance of keeping her children. Her family and "friends" should be ashamed of themselves for sitting back and allowing her to unravel like this. I wish no harm on her, and I think she's someone to be pitied.

I personally think Britney was tired of seeing Anna Nicole Smith all over the news. Britney did this to get herself back into the news/tabloids/gossip columns.

I agree, it's sad. Obviously she's passing a tough moment, hope she get through it soon, for her children and to subvert the "Decadence of a white trash girl turned pop star show" the media are selling all over the world.

Update about Britney at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre
It's been all over the gossip blogs, so I'm just updating what I reported last night. I spoke with my relative who works at CSMS. Apparently Britney was checked in late last night by an older male and was diagnosed with something called "Amphetamine psychosis".

I'm not exactly sure what that is, but basically, it's psychosis brought on by use of amphetamines. I don't know what pills or drugs you would take to have that happen, but there's all those rumors she does a lot of ecstasy and prescription medication.

From wikipedia: Amphetamine psychosis is a form of psychosis which can result from amphetamine or methamphetamine use. Amphetamine psychosis can include delusions, hallucinations and thought disorder. Hallucinations are frequently reported in chronic amphetamine users, with over 80% of users reporting the presence of hallucinatory experiences, typically as visual or auditory experiences. Delusions, paranoia, fears about persecution, hyperactivity and panic are also reported as the most common features.

She wasn't supposed to leave but something happened, she had some kind of outburst, was very paranoid, and they let her go, and have been involved with her today, but not at the hospital (at her home? at a clinic?).

If I find out anything else, I'll update.

I'm not gonna lie, I like Britney. Always have. It's a shame to see her so unstable. I mean, shaving one's head does not mean that a person is effed up, but she's just going downhill by the second. I hope she cleans up her act soon. Her poor kids are going to go through so much hell with the whole custody battle.

And Peg is pretty much the greatest character ever. Is it wrong that I aspire to be like her? :laugh:
