If I had the money I'd be in there like a shot... Sadly I think the price of this guitar alone would be AALLLLL the money I'll have for the full year, being a student an' all that lol. Any chance of pics anyway? Hope you get a good offer for it.

Yes it is a real vintage first generation. Not a lot of them floating around anymore. I was talking to Rick Turners workshop manager Barry Pearlman at the weekend. He says its a gem. I have a few teaser Pic's for now. I release full pictures when i get it back from Rick. http://i13.ebayimg.com/07/i/000/88/a3/deb0_12.JPG http://i4.ebayimg.com/07/i/000/88/a3/dd60_12.JPG Thats enough pics for now. Sorry im so cruel. Buts it generates great interest |
oh lord. I wish.
I couldn't possibly afford it, but I would buy it in a moment if I could come up with some cash. brb. I'm going to go see if I can sell my soul or something. |
I havent got it valued yet either, so im not sure how much to ask for it.
has anyone any rough ideas as to how much i could ask for it. the fact that it is signed and an original vintage should also add to the value. |

I certainly have no idea, but if I could afford it I'd buy it in a sec, and I don't even play guitar!. After a trip to the states to see lindsey-live ofcourse. But again, why are you selling? Did you buy it recently or are you the original owner? edit: I checked your public profile, but that guitar is older than you!!! |
It was made the year I was born, it should have some real sentimental value.
I bought it thinking i could hold on to it for many years until irs really worth something. but its too much money tied up in something that is the wrong way round ( IM a BLOODY LEFTY OKAY). Anyway im currently building a house, and I've got a few other bills to pay. I could sell it to ease the burden. But if it dosent sell for an acceptable amount. I will gladly hold on to it for another few years. Im guessing roughly in the £200K - £250k bracket. I Wish !!!!!!! it aint no 59' Les Paul Just yet....................... |

Me thinks he asketh WAY too much. He'll be lucky...VERY lucky to get over $15,000. They haven't appreciated THAT much. But, just looking a photos of the butt-side of the guitar doesn't inspire much interest, either. C'mon, Paul...quit the "tease" and put the photos where your wallet wants to be. :) |

If that is true, I reject my comment of buying it in an instant if I could afford it. I thought a new one was about 4.000 dollars. |

Depending on type of wood, type of finish, and other electronic bells & whistles, they're up to over $5,000 new, now. But, I've seen '59 Les Paul Sunbursts that are less than $35,000. A Turner Model 1 is one of the best guitars I've ever played, but even one of those original '79-81s aren't worth that much. (sorry, Paul...I think you're price gouging like the oil companies on that one) |
Lads ur too funny
C'mon, i i know that you know im taking the piss. i really dont expect much more than the cost of a new one. anything over $5500 wolud be great. but I really need to get it valued now you have me thinking. I would have taken $5000 but maybe not now. Who would know what its worth. |

I was really in doubt Paul! Don't take any word of mine serious in this case, I don't know sh*t about it. |
Well, hell, there's a ding right there at the neck horn. That's worth a $1,000 off. And, no back cover for the electronics? Drop it another $1,000 for that.
And, it makes me think, "What's wrong with the face of the guitar that he won't show it?" That right there is another $1,500 or 2,000 drop. All-in-all, I'll give ya $100 for it...and YOU pay the shipping.  |

ONE DOLLAR, BOB! |
Well theres an offer I just cant refuse $100 AND I pay the shipping. Sweet....
What sorta twisted reverse auction is this anyway? We've gone from 250k to 35k to 15k to 4k and now down to a possible $100. "Get your bids in, the lowest bid wins this old guitar that nobody wants." I will post some real nice photos in a few weeks stay tuned. I have to get talking to barry this week actually to ssee what he wants to do with it, its all in his hands now. |
Cool....I would want it...but the price tag is a bit nuts. I think $10,000 would be fair for it, considering (according to Rick) the newer instruments are far superior.

With the Vintage original body plus the bonus of the brand new electronics which are much better than the originals. I have the best of both worlds. Whaaaaa Hey :blob2: :blob1: :blob2: |

I dunno now, you may have to make me an offer i cant refuse. joining the vintage model 1 club is a hefty want. you wouldnt believe the amount of PM's im gettin. If you can in some way give me your fingerpicking abilities, i'll sell you it at quarter the price. I'm well impressed with that technique. just in from a night out, im steamin............( totally full ). Get back to you all tomorrow. Vodka and Red bull is a lethal combination !!!!! |

HA! Well I didnt necessarily mean YOUR costly Turner 1. And you want my Buckingham-esque abilities? It's nothing. I've seen better finger pickers. Thanks though. |
There have been SEVERAL Model 1's on eBay lately. They seem to go for $3000-$3500. Now, they might not be vintage, but still......
I played a new one in Nashvegas, about 3 years ago....if mammary serves, the price tag was $3500. http://cgi.ebay.com/Turner-Model-1-R...QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/Rick-Turner-Mode...QQcmdZViewItem I'm deeply in debt right now, but will be able to retire in about 7 years. THEN, I WILL have a model 1. |
So I've been thinking about this for a while now.
In about 8 - 9 weeks I'm gonna put the guitar on ebay and I would be prepared to let it go for around $7000 - $7500. So this is me giving Fello fans and Ledgies first preference. Demon you know you want it. Chili you need another one and shackin'up Doesnt Holland need one too It can be shipped straight from Rick Turners Factory when its ready An alternative option is to pay me $5000 now. And pay Rick $1500 when the restoration is complete and its yours today for a mere total of $6500 "bargin." |
Sorry. I play left. :(
|
How about you just hang on to it until i get my inheritence?

Even then it's 65 times Chili's bid  .
Nah, sorry dude, I can't afford it and it would be ridiculously snob to learn The house of the rising sun on a Turner Model One at my first guitarlesson. I wish you good luck though. I hope you sell it good. |
Shackin up, its so so funny you said that.
How do you think i felt when I went down to my guitar teacher two years ago, not even knowing how to play a C chord. I had this almighty lefty Model 1 guitar. He never seen one of those guitars before ,and even he could tell it was special. He looked at me like i had two heads and said "Whats that". I said "its a guitar, now teach me how to play it." the rest is history. And what was the first song he taught me, yes indeed "house of the rising bloody sun". |
