Ok. Who actually IS watching the super bowl?

The other thread got closed-i guess due to the poll? so post away. Any good commercials? I'm wondering if the colts are in trouble  that was a pretty early TD from da bears

Livia 02-04-2007 06:44 PM

I'm watching - as I said in the poll, I really don't care who wins, I just want to see a good game.

I did choose the Colts to win by 4-9 points, but I am a tiny bit partial toward Da Bears, since they've got 2 former UT Longhorns on their team - Cedric Benson and Nathan Vasher, both totally bad ass!

A touchdown on the kick-off return and an interception - things are looking good for Da Bears, but it ain't over 'til it's over!

michelle2677 02-04-2007 06:49 PM

^^Woohoo! Colts scoooore! I said from the beginning this was gonna be a good game  fav commercial so far: bud light paper/rock/scissors

Nixxxed 02-04-2007 07:36 PM

I'm just flipping in & out so I can see the halftime, and HA HA HA it's raining.

Think Prince will still perform?

Just Prince at halftime and Billy Joel at the beginning. He did pretty good considering it was pouring down rain on him. I loved it when the showed the troops in Baghdad and the crowd gave them a huge cheer. Verklempt moment number two today for me.

Livia 02-04-2007 08:21 PM

Purple Rain in the rain. Loved it!!

Fave commercials so far:

Snickers - w/ the two mechanics that kissed

Budweiser - The sad doggie who became a dalmation on got on the parade float

The Chevy commercial w/ all the guys who tore off their shirts and washed the car

The Doritos contest winner - horny checkout girl

Letterman and Oprah watching the game together

Nixxxed 02-04-2007 08:24 PM

Prince was great! Now back to the Puppy Bowl...

Nice going! I tolf you the Bears were overrated:nod:

mikeschmike 02-04-2007 10:06 PM

Prince kicked ass! Purple Rain in the rain was cool, and he sang the hell out of it. Baby I'm a Star was a nice touch too.

As for the game...meh. It didn't do much for me.

He was 1000 times better than the Stones last year.

Dare I say, best halftime show ever? When Prince broke out the Proud Mary, I thought Tina Turner might be his special guest. But I suppose it was the marching band? Nice shout out to Tusk, Prince. :D You knew he'd do the obligatory medley, but he managed to rock it, with little to no cheese factor involved. Kudos for that! He also played up to this particular audience w/ the We Will Rock You intro. Nice!

Congrats, Colts!

I also liked the commercial where slapping replaced the fist-butting.

The only thing I didnt like was the doo-rag he wore at the beginning.

sara1998 02-04-2007 11:11 PM

OMG!!! You should see downtown Indianapolis! Everyone here is going absolutely crazy! I have to go to bed, but I can't turn off the post game coverage! I wish I could be downtown celebrating with everyone! It looks like a great party!!!

:blob2: WAY TO GO COLTS!!!:blob2:

michelle2677 02-04-2007 11:15 PM

Man that sounds cool! Wish i were there partying it up:nod:

macfan 57 02-05-2007 06:47 AM

Congratulations to the Colts! The better team definitely won. I'm very happy for Tony Dungy & Peyton Manning.

It was absolutely amazing watching everyone in the streets of downtown! I've never seen anything like it here. I mean, people out there in below zero weather running through the streets of downtown partying it up! Damn I wish I could have been there... It's a ghost town here at work today. No one came it. Dosn't help that it's -2 degrees this morning either. All of our schools are on a 2 hour delay... don't know if it's the Colts or the cold! haha!

estranged4life 02-05-2007 09:07 AM

Da Bears...

SUCK!!!!

Goodie, There will only be one Champion in Chicago this coming season, and it sure as hell not the Bears! Nor the White Sux, the Bulls or the Blackhawks either.

Prince shows how to be a TRUE pop-star, sing yer ass off while shredding the guitar. Dude has always been under-appreciated as an axeman, but this halftime show showed he has the licks and can play with anyone when it comes down to it - Probably the best halftime show in the past 15 years (If not ever)

And finally congrats to the Colts! My favorite NFL coach finally won the Super Bowl - Coach Dungy! Way to go Peyton Manning!!!

GypsySorcerer 02-05-2007 09:56 AM

Congratulations to the Colts! This win has been a long time coming. Coach Dungy is a class act; I am really happy for him.

Okay this is how long it's been since I paid attention to football, I thought it was the Baltimore Colts??

Until I saw the "IND" in the score and I was like what is Ind.:o

37, but I haven't paid attention to anything football related since I was about 13. When did they move from Baltimore to Ind? :o

wondergirl9847 02-05-2007 11:37 AM

I think is was...

The Baltimore Colts, then, they moved. I belive the Tennessee Titans used to be the Houston Oilers. Anyone positive on that? We still have a glass that says Houston Oilers on it! LOL

Congrats to the Colts! My mom and I were rootin' for them! That first kickoff return scared us, but the Colts came back with a vengance.

Yes, the Houston Oilers became the Tennessee Titans & the Baltimore Colts moved in the middle of the night to Indianapolis some years ago. The Oakland Raiders at one time moved to Los Angeles then back to Oakland again.
