VAN HALEN IS BACK!

Los Angeles, CA - In what is no doubt one of the most anticipated moments in rock and roll, VAN HALEN officially announces their 2007 North American tour.

The tour will mark the first time since 1984 that original VAN HALEN front man David Lee Roth will perform with Eddie and Alex Van Halen along with new bassist Wolfgang Van Halen for 40 shows this summer.

VAN HALEN fans can look forward to legendary high intensity performances, featuring a set list of the most iconic hits ever produced by America's premiere rock band.

Eddie Van Halen states, "I am very excited to get back to the core of what made VAN HALEN."

They sure were fun to watch in those days with David doing his flying splits, Eddie's guitar solos, Alex's manic drum playing and Michael Anthony's Jack Daniels bass.

Ho****. The last time I saw him perform was years ago on same late night show, and it was tragic. No. Voice. Left.

Well, it wasn't about diminished range or lower singing or even ragged tone. It was no volume, almost all talking, couldn't hold a note.

Although I've never seen them live, I never thought he COULD!
That's why I always like Hagar better. I'll take a SINGER over a monotone, anyday. OF course, the flipside is that anyone can sing? along with Roth. Who can hit those Hagar notes?!

According to Norm Clarke from Reviewjournal.com, a VAN HALEN reunion tour, with David Lee Roth back in the fold after 22 years, is in the works, with a Las Vegas launch looking good. A late April date at the Palms' new venue, The Pearl, is "99 percent" likely, a source said. It would be the latest coup for Palms owner George Maloof, who will open the 2,500-seat venue with a lineup that includes TOOL, EVANESCENCE, GWEN STEFANI along with Van Halen, all in the first month.

Remember the poster that came with the WOMEN & CHILDREN FIRST album?
(At least, I think it was that one). It was DLR in leather pants, no shirt, handcuffed to a chain link fence. I instantly put it above my bed and when my father came home from work, my mother told him to go look in my bedroom and my father had a FIT! He made me take it down and said to "throw that **** in the trash. I thought you liked the plumbers!"
(When my dad was growing up in Boston, their plumber's last name was Fleetwood, so my dad always called the Mac "the plumbers"!!! ) LOL

Yes, Sparky, you SHOULD have gone to college w/ us. Good times there at the Ark, but nothing beats the party we were at when some dude came out of nowhere and rolled a running lawn mower across the coffee table. :lol:

And you forgot that the coffee table had about 5 electric dildo's on it and we nabbed one (we crashed this party, BTW) and drove all through Austin with this 9" black rovolving dildo out of the sunroof of my Volvo.

I saw David Lee Roth perform a few years ago and it was...painful. He had this one move that he could still manage, and bless his heart- he did it every few minutes. His voice sounded like someone who did no preparation- awful. The upside was that he did some really obscure VH songs.

All that said- hell yes, I'm going! I have never seen any incarnation of Van Halen live.

Wonder if he'll break out his bottle of "Jack Daniels." That 2500 seat arena at The Palms would be an incredible place to see them. Heaven only knows what the tickets would cost.

My only complaint will be wondering if this tour will come to a complete hault like the last Van Halen reunion tour due to Edward's (Continuing? :shrug: ) alcohol problem.

He looks like he fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down......time has not been a friend to him.

Well we know he was drinking as late as 2004 when that video surfaced of him and Zakk Wylde doing shots at Dimebag's memorial service. Then there was the fairly recent photograph of him attending Elton John's charity benefit looking like someone's grandmother. Let's hope he cleans up and gets some work done so he at least halfway looks like pretty Eddie from back in the day. And get some false teeth for chrissake. He can afford it.
Also, I'm assuming that Wolfie is playing bass on this tour? Or have things been resolved with Michael Anthony?

Exactly. Last time I saw him on TV in some sort of interview, he did not look well. Oh, and I'm also pissed about no Michael Anthony. I know why he won't be there, but I'm still pissed. You want to get back to the root of VH Eddie? Not going to happen without him. :shrug:

Although when i'm in that mindset I just think who we don't have for president and i cheer up :p
Anyway only been a fan (started collecting their albums) for a few years. But would love to see them live. I'll just keep my eyes open if ever the tour goes beyond the US.

EDDIE VAN HALEN On Rehearsal With DAVID LEE ROTH: "...It Was Pure Magic"

Launch Radio Networks has issued the following report from Bruce Simon:

Forget all the tension and bad feelings -- the VAN HALEN - DAVID LEE ROTH reunion is nothing but happiness and sunshine. At least, that's what Eddie Van Halen is saying.

After the official announcement was made last week about "Diamond Dave" being back in the group, Eddie told MTV News, "Playing these timeless hits only works with Dave. After one rehearsal, it was pure magic." He also told Rolling Stone, "I am having a blast playing songs we wrote with Dave and I can't wait to get on stage and get it on with and for the fans!"

In addition, Eddie told TMZ.com, "It feels like a whole new beginning to be back with Dave and to be playing with my brother and my son. We look forward to going on tour."

Van Halen will do a 40-date tour this summer, making it the first time Roth has performed with the group since their 1984 tour, back in 1984. Roth's time with the group ended in April 1985, though whether he quit or was fired depends on who you ask.

While Roth is back, bassist Michael Anthony is out, having been replaced by Eddie's 15-year-old son Wolfgang.

I need to put on some higher boots. It's getting pretty deep in here. :rolleyes:

I saw the original VH at the US Festival...I wouldn't miss this either. Isn't Michael Anthony with another band now?
