Houston audio and video!!!!
Here is the video for SUD. It's sideways, so if someone can flip this video right side up, I'd be FOREVER grateful!! Niki, can you help?!
http://download.yousendit.com/5A46E25006DF4718 Here is the audio for Turn It On. I didn't take my camera out of my purse, but just pressed record for the audio. During SUD though, I left my camera in there for a few seconds and then said, "Screw it. I'm getting this on video. It's the last song." I hope you can't hear my heart beating 10,000 miles a minute on that one. LOL http://download.yousendit.com/C82F61507994DC1F |
That vid was awesome Christy... Thanks for posting it!

I didn't think there was a chance in hell he could still hit those notes at the end of Turn It On! And though he did play a solo section in Shut Us Down, I am disappointed he didn't do the specific part that is my all time favorite Lindsey riff. But still, good lord. |
1. What an incredible effort do perform this as a closer of very energetic show Technically this is not a simple thing as we can see.
2. Minimize the video and LISTEN to this. He sings it with incredible subtility, and from the soles of his boots. I love how he stretches the soaring as lohohong as I can. And the guitar is really sounding good if you put it on phones and push the volume up. Alot of tone-emotion! 3. I hope he is going to do this more and more so he he can pitch it slightly up. Nothing wrong with this one though. 4. The ontheedgewhisper from the studio is gone. I really love that he transformed the intimacy and vulnerability of that to the stage by sunging it differently. Without losing the core of the song. HAIL hail. Anyone who says he can't sing anymore can dine with dog**** tomorrow as far as I'm concerned. 5. Anyone who isn't touched by this is an Icerabbit. I rest my case for this song. It's just fokking gorgeous and you alll know it. Those ending notes are so friggin toneful and beautiful that he brings the gem -and with that the whole show- home in a brilliant melancholy. wow. |

Thanks so much Christy!
I downloaded Turn it On and I think it sounds a lot better than what some said. It does need a little more rehearsing, but overall I think it sounds pretty great. Loving this, thanks again! |

Vocally I like that more than the studio version, which is great anyway. Guitar wise, OK, he makes a couple of wee slip ups in the first half but it's nothing big. Having the middle section still left in is so fantastic. Almost 6 and a half minutes of awesomeness.
Thanks for posting it! |

It's so good to hear him do something from OOTC. This sounds really good. Thanks for this. He's even singing higher than what I've heard him do for a while.

I'm totally missing responses from Mari, Trackaghost, FaceOfGlass, Stefan and Danax6 on this. Hell, even Johnny Stew should react. And Strandinthewind.
What do YOU guys think of this rendition of Shut Us down? |
Here ya go
For those who don't wanna download it...I put it on YouTube. I put up the new one here with the 4:22 part fixed thanks to Niki. :)

A couple of things though... I don't like the 'as LOOOHoooohOOOOoooooOOOhNG as I can' near the end. I don't like it when he forces his voice like that, it takes away from the subtle way he delivers the rest of the song. I hate it when he does that on Big Love also, he didn't used to do it, but as his range changes, so do those 'notes'. Ah well. Secondly, is it just me or does he miss the right note on his guitar once or twice? I'm not a music expert, so I could be wrong. Last but not least, I do know lyrics, and I couldn't help but notice how he changed 'I know that I treated you unkind, that long ago I lost my mind' to 'I know that I treated you unkind, to hide the truth I'm trying to find' and completely skips over some of the rest of the lyrics. Ofcourse, it could be just an error on his part. ;) |

Since this video was post I've been playing this song myself so much more over the last couple of days, but I seem to have an inability to remember to the words while I'm playing :( so I have to sit with the lyrics infront of me so I can sing at the same time. I guess if I do it enough times it'll just stick... |
my god thanx so much for posting this wondergirl !!, and for the ajustment BTFLCHLD

Ok, just kidding. ;) I think this is a great rendition of SUD even though it's slower than in the studio. I'm also glad that he kept the entire solo bit (the one in the Myspace 'promo video') intact. I have no problems whatsoever with the louder vocal bits ("LOHOOONG AS I CAN"), in fact I think they make a great contrast to the otherwise whispery nature of the song. BTLH was an uplifting and rousing closer to Lindsey's church service, SUD live has a bit of that too but it's more contemplative. And fine as it is this way. Still makes one wonder why the hell did Lindsey edit SUD for the album though. Because he wanted them all to be roughly four minutes long like the songs on SYW? Muchas gracias to Christy for recording this! |

Holy cow! This is awesome. Great job capturing SUD, Christy. Thanks for sharing it!
If I may turn on my whine button - why didn't he do these two songs in Vegas?! At least one of the nights? Oh well, might have to see him again now... |
