Bob Seger

Has anyone seen him on his tour this year? He is coming to Oakland Arena and I'm 90% sure I'm going. Tickets are only $65 and he is on my list of people I've never seen but wanted to. Just wondering if anyone has info on this tour and if he sounds good, etc.

GODDESS6 01-15-2007 07:15 AM

he is playing her in march & the hubby & i wanna go also~

UnwindedDreams 01-15-2007 11:42 AM

I'm hearing great reviews and the setlists are awesome...did he sell out yet?

gldstwmn 01-15-2007 12:28 PM

I didn't even know he was touring. The last time I saw him was almost thirty years ago.

Yeah, when he sold "Like A Rock", to Chevy.

On the bright side, hopefully Rick got royalties, everytime that slide guitar hit the airwaves.

Ho****. I just heard about this on the radio a few days back. I really want to go. When is it? I guess I could check. :p I was thinking of winning tickets for it...:woohoo:
Do you have a "date" for the show? :wavey:
I love Sege. I don't know how he sounds now, though, isn't his voice pretty thrashed? I mean, it started out thrashed....

Wow, that's a good set. Too bad he doesn't open with Nutbush City Limits anymore. His version was kick ass.

Thought about seeing...

Bob Seger for a second time (Saw him in 1986 in support of the "Like a Rock" album w/future FM guitarist Rick Vito as his lead guitar player), but the OKC was cancelled due to "contractural conflicts"...So much for that.

That sucks...how bout Rod he'll be playing Ford Center in April...
Even though I'm hearing his first two shows of the Rockin' In the Round 2007 Tour were terrible! He better shape up when he hits the Garden(which Bob will be playing in two weeks)

golddustwoman77 01-15-2007 07:37 PM

I saw him in Knoxville, TN a couple of months ago. The setlist has everything that you would want to hear, and he still sounds just like he always has. The band is really tight too! If you sit in the lower level, try to get on the sides by the stage. He has small platforms on each side of the stage, so it is like having front row. I had seats in the section by the stage on the fourth row, and I was SUPER close when he came over to the platform on my side (which he did quite often). Just something to think about. Enjoy the concert! I know I did. :D

estranged4life 01-15-2007 07:40 PM

Rod??? As in...

Rod Stewart? No thanks..He used to be rock back in the 70's/80's, now he is lame.

I checked pollstar.com and I see no artists coming to OKC in the coming months I would like to see, Not even Slayer (I like their music prior to 1991).

Well, I was going with Jeremy Irons, but he just texted me and said he not going now that I said he look like crap. Show is Feb. 24th. If you would like to be my date, let me know. I'll sell the ticket I bought and we buy two tix together. :wavey:

MoonChilde 01-16-2007 08:51 AM

Bob still Rocks..I was in the Motor City over the christmas holidays and he had 4 sold out shows..I managed to snag 4 tickets at the last minute..and took my husband who had never seen him in concert before..Me..I have been a fan of Bob's forever.,before he even made it big time..Anyway was totally impressed with the show..His set list in my opinion was right on..Some old stuff some new..There's nothing like seeing Bob play for his hometown crowd and you could just feel it all around you..Welcome back Bob..Your Still The Same..

DavidMn 01-16-2007 09:17 AM

My friend went to see him back in November here and said he was great!

Which came first, this or The Eagles' "The Long Run"?

They're pretty much the same song with different lyrics.

skcin 01-17-2007 01:53 PM

^ Very true. For some reason, I prefer "Tryin...."

The setlist kicks ass. Sunspot Baby is enough to make we want to go. Jody Girl would have been good too, but I can't have it all. I saw him in '96 & he's great live. I keep hoping for a Buffalo date this time around.

HomerMcvie 01-17-2007 02:40 PM

See, I've heard that he can't really hit any high notes anymore.
Is that not true?

BTFLCHLD 01-17-2007 02:41 PM

I really want to go too... "wait for me" is my favorite from "face the promise." I wish he would do a socal date.

They say "admitting there's a problem" is the first step!
Congratulations.

:D :D :D

skcin 01-17-2007 03:33 PM

^ Thanks, but I haven't been in treatment. No doubt that she can't hit all those high notes routinely anymore, so you won't hear an argument from me.

hs421139 01-21-2007 03:50 AM

Going to see the show on 1/27

BTFLCHLD 01-21-2007 01:36 PM
