The Plot Thickens... Stevie Releasing A Live Album?

This is from the 'Inside Track' column in the January 20th issue of Billboard (and with thanks to my friend Jeffrey)....

Quote:

Word is that Stevie Nicks is finishing up the first live album of her solo career, due late this year via Reprise. The artist will also perform Feb. 4 as part of the Super Bowl CLI pregame show on CBS and will stick around in Florida for headlining shows Feb. 6 in Hollywood and Feb 9 in Tampa.

It's only 'word', and 'word' is all we have...

End of this year? Hmm...that might not coincide with the FM tour rumors for early next year. I guess it all depends on what Lindsey is going to do with the other new album.

DavidMn 01-14-2007 05:33 PM

Now a live album I would buy for sure!

NicksforLife 01-14-2007 05:43 PM

Wonder if this is instead of a "Best of" early this year?
I would rather have the live, but soooner!:blob1:

RockALittle250 01-14-2007 05:44 PM

Wow...a best of album next month and a live album later this year...i guess she's making up for lost time!

No, the best of is already slated for release and has been confirmed by various sources. We probably won't hear any "official" word on this live album until the summer.

TheWILDheart 01-14-2007 06:37 PM

Just a random thought but don't you think Stevie singing "Hold The Line" would be absolutley FANTASTIC? :D

Well..she has stated in the past she wanted to do a "live" album.
She could totally shock everyone with this news. I think it is a great decision.

rbs3676 01-14-2007 06:43 PM

This has been long overdue. Hope it really happens!!!

Considering that Stevie has always sounded better live, it is criminally overdue...

I wonder where the live tracks will be recorded? I was thinking that it might be from some of her Vegas shows in March. Maybe she is going to do some kind of a tour to get some more live tracks. I don't see Fleetwood Mac doing anything for quite sometime to be honest.

JazmenFlowers 01-15-2007 02:22 PM

a live album would be awesome. I hope whatever it is it's packaged and promoted like it should be.

and I hope it's successful...since her last release debuted at #5, it's possible.

Seriously, as much as I LOVE and ADORE Fleetwood Mac, I am really more than glad that both stevie and lindsey are both flexing the solo muscles right now. MR. Buckingham needs to enjoy bieng popular just by himself right now, he deserves it. (and thats saying something, bause he buggs me, and was rude when I met him:sorry: ) but I am glad that his tour is doing well. Also, Stevie really seems to need this time also, just to hang with Tom Petty,or whatever, do Her ~Dreams~ shows in vegas, and then come home and chill. Its for the best. I love fleetwood mac, but if buckingham and nicks come back before either of them are ready to, it WILL NOT be a good thing. Mick and John should "GUEST" at afew of Lindsey and Stevies shows or apperences. Now THAT would be something.

How was Lindsey rude to you? Usually it is Stevie who isn't very nice.

estranged4life 01-15-2007 03:20 PM

Well...

y'all know we'll be buying whatever Ms.Nicks releases, So more power to her for 'possibly' releasing a live album (Possibly the live tracks recorded in Montreaux  ).

really? that's odd. this is the first I've ever heard that Stevie is usually not very nice.

maybe Liddy was just having a bad day.

I mean no disrespect, hes talented and great and all, but yeah,so we were all stnading around, and they came in (before they went to the party thing) Stevie was nice, listened to my adorations, and huged me. John was nice, even when I was freekin out cause I was noticing his penguin tatoo. Mick was nice, eventhough he was huge(im ony 5'6")It was like wow. but Mr. Buckingham kept looking away like "isnt there something better to do" AND THEN when I made the attempt to talk to him, I said "man you really rocked it tonight" AND HE SAID SOMETHING TO THE EFFECT OF (COCKING HIS HEAD) "WELL...(SMILE)..YES.":o :distress: So I just turned away and asked stevie If I could stand next to her when we took a picture.

You know something's happened when you stop saying "I want to see Band X in concert just once before I die" and start saying "I want to see Band X in concert just once before they die"!!!

I think that Lindsey is just shy. As for Stevie, one time that I met her she just seemed as if she couldn't be bothered to talk to me. The other time she seemed nice and friendlier to me. I don't really think that meet and greets are a fair judge of their personality to be honest. It is getting to talk to Stevie outside of that environment that can be tough.

strandinthewind 01-15-2007 04:05 PM

LB has always been nothing but nice to me, though I met him really only once. I do agree with Patti though, he is shy.

Also - I think there is a good chance the live record will contain a single they can market. "My Heart" seemingly a good choice

Yeah, he is just kind of shy. As for Stevie's single let's hope that it is not another version of Landslide.

shebop 01-15-2007 04:18 PM

I think that you get a better response if what you say has something to do with what you know about them - say - a common interest rather than just pleading your fan status!
I've had a few brief Stevie encounters and she's been very pleasant - one time she had her dogs with her and she commented to me that people were paying more attention to the dogs than to her!

Oh, I'm sure it will be successful...
1. It's her first live album
2. She gained so many fans since 2005 (imagine what the SuperBowl will do)
and
3. She's Stevie Nicks!:D

Here's hoping to a rockin' live album!:D

Fantastic news and great decision. My first choice for the single would be STORMS!!!! or Trouble in Shangri -La, or Smile at you (NOT the SYW version possibly, even if I liked it too) or Love is live live but since somehow I fear it's a bit unlikely to happen, I'd be more than happy with everything the gracious Ms Nicks would decide to offer to us. :D

Romy

jwd 01-15-2007 11:03 PM

More good news!! I'm not sure if there HAS to a single released from a live album. Just throw it out there and let the fans have at it!!

steviefan59 01-15-2007 11:33 PM

live album

boy i'm surprised no one else thinks it could be the melbourne concert...that would be fantastic...from the boots her voice was great and this would do her justice over here and fulfill partly the promise she made to the australian fans...just a thought...the best of was also promised for australia before she even did the melbourne concert wasn't it...it seems to me she said she was going to release a best of cd around the time of the horse race in 2005 in october i think...anyway thats just my best guess..regards pat

SpyNote 01-16-2007 01:19 AM

Producer Mark Needham worked on "The Best of Stevie Nicks" and "Stevie Nicks Live at the Montreux Jazz Festival," according to his website. So the live release planned for later this year will probably be this performance from 2006. We can expect the usual set of Dreams, Stand Back, etc.

I have no interest with lindsey. hes just never been my favorite. and for your information,it wasnt like I was blibbering over myself like an idiot, I said simply "man you really rocked it tonight". Anyway, WHATEVER back to the thread.....STEVIE STEVIE STEVIE NEW NEW NEW!
(there, I feel better already:laugh: )

What was the set list for "live at Montereux"? was it a good preformance?

A Ledgie reported that she performed four songs:

Dreams
Stand Back
Rock and Roll (with Chic and Nile Rodgers)
Woodstock (with Kid Rock)

So...there may be more to this release.

I'm going to Best Buy tomorrow and I'm gonna ask about any Stevie future releases. I know, here at least, they can look it up in a matter of seconds on a computer.

I will report back.

It seems to be turning up on many music chains' "upcoming releases" lists. A close friend of mine confirmed for me that the chain he works for has it on their schedule for March 13th, and I see that in another thread, KenshiMaster16, who works for FYE, says it's listed for the same date on their release sheet, too.

Unlike in past months when we've heard rumoured release dates, I think it's a sure-thing this time.
