a ticket next week, So unlike seeing a show out of state this show will be easy for me to attend (I lived/attended school in Tulsa from 1988-1991).

Wonder if any other Ledgies will make the trip to "T-Town"? The ''Ol' Lady on Brady" has a seating capacity of about 1,800 and from the shows I saw there in my younger years there's not a bad seat in the house.

Well, Brian, I'd give my kidney for a Austin-Tulsa-Livia-Brian J.-repeat, but it's not gonna happen...:distress:

If I wasn't going to see Stevie in March, I would have definitely purchased a plane ticket to see Lindsey again in January. But right now I can only afford to spend money on one person at a time. Damn them for touring right after each other.

TulsaMINI 01-27-2007 12:18 PM

Greetings from Tulsa! First time posting...have been lurking for quite some time...

Anyway, I am beside myself with anticipation for Wednesday night! We're 2nd row, center -- thanks to my DH!!

I can't wait! I wish I knew if there was some way to meet him, just say hello and get an autograph, but I don't know how that will even be possible. The Brady doesn't really have a "back stage". Performers usually have their bus parked right outside and just slip in and out of the venue.

Whether I meet him or not, this is my wish come true to have Lindsey in Tulsa -- I know a couple of the local promoters and have made my wishes known for years. So yeah, that's why he's coming here, I'm pretty sure. ;)

Is it Wednesday yet????

- Angie

Little Nicki 01-27-2007 12:55 PM

TulsaMINI,
Apparently he has been coming out after the shows and people have been talking to him, getting pictures with him, and of course autographs. The show I went to, he came out in front of the venue afterwards and hung around for a while, but of course, I didn't have any idea he would do that and I left! Learn from my mistake and stick around afterwards!

TulsaMINI 01-27-2007 01:11 PM

:blob2: Oh that would be terrific! :blob2:

I hope it's not too cold!!! Wednesday's forecast is for a high of 42° and a low of 25°. Brrrrrrr!

Thanks for giving me hope!!

that's why I rarely make advance plans for any shows (Will however make an exception so Deb can see Keith Urban in OKC this July).

I usually find it best to go the spontaneous route nowadays in regards to concerts (Which always worked out better for me in the past).

estranged4life 01-29-2007 11:12 PM

Just a weather update...

for those traveling from out of state to Tulsa, The weather is expected to get worse late Tuesday and there's a chance of snow and possibly ice for Wednesday.

Hopefully the weather wont affect the show for those who are attending.

TulsaMINI 01-30-2007 09:38 AM

*la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la*

I'm not hearing this. Must. Not. Snow. Must. Not. Snow. Must. Not. Snow.

This is Oklahoma anyway, things can change just like *that*.

I hope.

Wishing you a fantastic show, peeps....

TulsaMINI 02-01-2007 09:45 AM

OMG! That was amazing!!! I've seen LB before -- but it was on the SYW tour and I was in the nosebleed section. THIS is the way to see Lindsey. I just don't even know what to say...he was unfreakingbelievable and overall I was proud of the response Tulsa gave him. Sometimes, crowds are kinda subdued at the Brady. I still don't think there was enough standing, but out of consideration of those behind us, we kept it limited. There was a cute girl with a newsboy cap on the front row and she would look back at me and we'd kinda nod or whatever and jump up -- kinda like, I will if you will. LOL

I was disappointed that I didn't get an opportunity to get an autograph or picture, but there will be other chances. My husband and I were parked on the back side of The Brady and as we were walking to the car we saw the road manager out by the bus. We asked if Lindsey would be coming out soon and he just said "Could be awhile. They're staying at the Crowne Plaza...you could go hang out there." I thought going to the hotel was a bit too stalkerish, so we just went ahead and left

I think I got some pretty good pics -- didn't have time to process them last night, but I'll post a link to my flickr when I get them posted.

My first Lindsey concert. Perfect show. Best seats in the house. It just doesn't get much better than that.

EDIT: I'm still getting all my thoughts together, remembering every detail...I do want to add that it was really nice to meet you, SRhiannon. :)

Oh my goodness! It was awesome. I think Linds did a great job last night and words can't express how fun it was. Our seats were excellent and he came over right in front of me so I got to touch him:] He looked at me a couple of times and smiled ~ maybe because I had my "Say You Will" shirt on! LOL I got some excellent pictures also!

Angie ~ thanks for finding me! I really enjoyed meeting you too!!!!

From local radio station Star 103 FM's website:

Quote:

The Lindsey Buckingham Concert Almost Didn't Happen

Lindsey Buckingham came close to cancelling his show last night at the Brady... And left hundreds of fans standing in the cold. The doors to the Brady remained closed for well over 45 minutes after the published "doors open" time of 6:30, leaving fans in a block long line in subfreezing tempatures. The reason? A "hum" had developed in the bands guitar rig. Appearantly, it was bad enough that he considered cancelling the show and rescheduling for the next day.

Star 103.3's Mel Myers was standing backstage, waiting to introduce Lindsey as all of this was going down. "I told his road manager that it didn't matter. These people had driven in the snow and stood in the cold to see this guy", said Myers. Luckily for the fans, it seems someone took Mel's advice. Buckingham finally took the stage to a very warm reception, despite the cold night. After the show, Lindsey said the problem had come from radio signals off the portable road signs on the nearby highway. Buckingham also told a group of fans gathered backstage what a great crowd Tulsa was and how touched he was by the response.

Let me guess, those damn signs on I-244??? Figures

I used to love Tulsa when I lived there in 1990-1991 (I met Deb in Tulsa!) but I am an OKC person now...Funny, that I still know my way around without needed any directions.
