Grammy Nominations

The Chicks just got nominated for Best Country Group Or Duo :blob2: :blob1: :blob2:

Not Ready To Make Nice for Song of the Year.

NRTMN for Record of the Year.

Taking The Long Way for Album of the Year

I know how most of you feel about the Grammy's, but the Chicks nominations are pretty ironic considering everything and pretty damn cool too!

Here's the rest of the list:

I think it's funny how Sheryl Crow gets nominated every year no matter what. I like her but she has definitely gone downhill with her music in the last few years.

I'm happy Tom Petty got nominated even though the Grammys suck.

last.fm is way cool. you install a small program called a scrobbler, and it tracks all the music you listen to on your computer, so you can see what people are currently listening to, what their most played artists are, etc. the thing i have in my sig is from last.fm - it shows what my most recently played tracks are.

Hehe, I believe it too. Probably more like in my case, not wanting to admit you don't know what it is. "Oh, last.fm? Yeah, I use that all the time!" Thanks for clearing up what it is!

Grammys? ..... yawns all around....

Sorry, I've just become too bored with the lovefests of the rich and clueless.

Glad to see Tom Petty and The Raconteurs get best rock album nods -- both are among my favorite releases this year.

Would love to see Thom Yorke's The Eraser get the best alternative album...that would be very cool.

rbs

I totally agree with you. I loved her edgier stuff. The last album I bought of hers was "Global Sessions" after that things did go down hill. To bad really, I wish she would get back in touch with that edge again. I think it'll make her happy!

Rickypt 12-07-2006 02:45 PM

I hope the Dixie Chicks clean up.

I don't know half the nominees. Guess I'm finally old.

Nixxxed 12-07-2006 03:23 PM

Justin Timberlake for album of the year? I like the Chicks too, but I hope the Chili Peppers take that award.

And if OK GO! don't win for best video...

I'm frankly shocked that Tori Amos didn't get a nom for best box set or best packaging. I mean - look at this frickin thing - it's called "A Piano: The Collection" - you can even press the keys! :distress:

The Peppers drummer plays on the Chicks last two albums too, including the one thats nominated this year. That's kinda neat.

Your post is the best response I have seen in regards to the 'Grummie' awards

ryan8472 12-07-2006 09:22 PM

I hope Timber-in-the-pantslake wins it all. He's the only one mentioned that I mildly like.

Wild_Heart03 12-07-2006 09:27 PM

Depeche Mode actually got a nomination. That makes me feel all kinds of happy. :D

Okay then - I won't feel bad for you when The Killers lose for best video and best rock song. :p

Do you mean the Barnes & Noble edition with the extra DVD? Or did beyotch release yet another version I haven't heard about? (I wouldn't put it past her - she probably has 3 more versions set to come out early next year just before her new album drops).

I love the Xtina "Candy Man" commercial. I couldn't tell you what it was promoting, though - I'm always too busy singing the song (loudly) to pay attention.

I think SexyBack is a better song than When You Were Young. :sorry:

However, I hope they at least win the rock song thing, since I want to just see my Brandon up on stage being awkward. :p

Yep - and Rick Rubin produced both of those albums. He's a genius!

I'm happy for the Chicks and the Raconteurs!

Right you are  I hope he wins too. You should check him out in the doc "Shut Up & Sing", he is hilarious!! There's a scene in his recording studio with his dog, it's very funny.
