nix4life 12-06-2006 11:31 PM

thanks everyone for such kind words
but thats all i have with jen -
i think i have a decent solo landslide (though i fear everyone is just a tad tired of that one )
and a goodbye baby
still lookin for a way to transfer videos to mp3 - no need to see me standing there - especially in a bad haircut - can anyone help with this? not the haircut but the transfer?

- - lol -
my friend keeps telling me he has a video of me doing chris's u make lovin fun -
just me and guitar -
i remember the performance and thinkin "damn that was more than decent" and i actually came close to those high notes (believ- EEEEEEEEEEvvvvee)
lol
but i haven't seen the video yet -
if it is half as good as i remember ill post it over in the chris forum -
i did a couple lindsey tunes and posted them over there -
they are just such fun tunes to perform -
i just can' t help it - like i said in the othr thread
chris linds and stevie have written a huge portion of the soundtrack to my life :)

sodascouts 12-06-2006 11:41 PM

Wow! Great job!

ragandbone 12-07-2006 02:15 AM

That was just beautiful!
I love that song, and your sweet voices!

I just grabbed the audio from your YouTube post and made an mp3. I think it skips once or twice, due to the YouTube stream. If you want to send me the Mpeg, or whatever format your video is in, I could probably make a better mp3.

BirdInFlight 12-07-2006 02:14 PM

This is a stunning performance. I got goosebumps.

PenguinHead 12-07-2006 02:19 PM

I concur! A very impressive, enjoyable performance of Without You. And props for picking such an obscure, underrated song. I live in Portland, OR. Where will you be performing? I'll be there!

Same here...Fleetwood Mac (and various solo ventures) have been the soundtrack of my life since 1977. By the way, you mentioned The Big Three. Do you mean the old folk group with Cass Elliot? She and Mamas & Papas are also a huge part of my soundtrack. Love them to death.

Hey Bill,

I'm really digging all the songs you posted. Yeah, I know where LaurelThirst is. How will I know when you're performing? What name does your band use? Should I look for ads in Williamette Week? (lol).

Yeah, The Big Three was Cass with two folky guys, Tim Rose and Jim Hendricks. They enjoyed some aclaim during the folk craze, producing a couple of albums. (there are a couple of compilation cds out there). Of course, the folk thing faded, especially when the Beatles emerged. Then most of the "folks" went on to rock and roll.

The greatest ever Cass Elliot album ever is her self-titled album from 1972. Just amazing. Unfortunately, the CD of it is very rare. A US version was released in the early 90's, then disappeared (I haven't seen it anywhere since). There was a fairlly recent Japanese issued copy, but even that one is hard to find, and when it is available it goes for big bucks.

If and when I see you perform, I'll be sure to bring a copy of it for you.

Cheers!
