Share MP3s of Your Favorite Christmas Songs

We generally prefer that Ledgies refrain from posting commercially available tracks, but I thought it would be fun if we all shared some of our favorite Christmas songs.

So let us know some of your favorites and be sure to post an mp3 so we can all hear it. :D

Low - "Little Drummer Boy"

I heard this version of "Little Drummer Boy" (my all-time favorite Christmas song) in a commercial quite a number of years ago, and totally fell in love with it. I posted about it on the Ledge and asked if anyone might know who performed it.
Barbara, one of the Ledge's original moderators, had also heard it and fell in love with it, and she hooked me up with this mp3.

So I always think of my friend Barbara whenever I listen to this song....

Low - "Little Drummer Boy"

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
"Christmas All Over Again"

Billy Burnette (and Mick Fleetwood)
"It Came Upon A Midnight Clear"

The Malibooz
"Carol Of The Swells" (Instrumental surf version of "Carol Of The Bells")

One of my favorite carols is Silver Bells...but I love carols I can easily sing along with...and this has so far been one of my favorite versions...it's Martina McBride...

Ooh, Vicky, I LOVE the Malibooz' take on "Carol of the Bells"!!! :blob2:

The Martina McBride track is terrific... thank you, Deanna. :xoxo:

Keep 'em coming!

Here's Chris Isaak, Stevie, Brian McKnight and Michael Bublé performing "Rudolph" on Chris Isaak's Christmas Soundstage special....

Chris Isaak & Friends - "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer"

Glad you liked it!

What did you think of Billy's tune?

Believe it or not, I'd actually heard that one before. I hope everyone downloads it... I think he (along with Mick) did a really great job of it.
Billy's voice has such a smooth, soulful quality, he could easily do an entire album of Christmas music.

Now here's a little something from Christine....

Christine McVie - "Coventry Carol"

Really? I'd never even heard of it 'til I found it in a search on Amazon. And I certainly hope everyone does DL the song. (Y'all don't even wanna know how much I paid for that damn CD! Make it worth my money, people.) Besides, it's really beautiful, and I think everyone will like it.

I think it's safe to say that Billy's my new favorite Mac member.

Its not a fav, but it involves Stevie, so its a 'must-have':

Chris Isaak & Stevie Nicks - Santa Claus Is Coming to Town

Never been a big fan of John Denver's music, but his Christmas album with the Muppets will always have a special place in my heart.

John Denver & The Muppets - "The Twelve Days of Christmas"

One of the saddest and most beautiful Christmas songs ever....

Willie Nelson - "Pretty Paper"

I hadn't heard Nelson's version, but I have a Roy Orbison recording of it somewhere that is just gorgeous!

Roy Orbison's version is gorgeous and it can be difficult to choose between the two... but, for me, Willie's wins by a nose, because his voice is just so heartbreaking there.

And now for something completely different (with a "hello" to Brian J.)....

Queen - "Thank God It's Christmas"

Can somebody share a good mp3 hosting site? I have a couple of songs I'd like to share... EDIT: nevermind, I used Stewies site!

anyway, here is one of my faves (its John Denver, sorry Stewie  )

Aspenglow

another John Denver tune:

Christmas for Cowboys

This one is a bit new age, but it was on a CD called Celtic Christmas, so I suppose it qualifies:

The White Spirit by Uman

and two of my faves from Rudolph:
The Most Wonderful Day of the Year/Island of Misfit Toys

Silver and Gold

ok, I think thats it!

You can use my gmail account to do it if u like, just upload them into there.

Thanks, but I cheated, I used Stewies site :wavey:
Thanks anyway :xoxo:

Please, nobody post 'Do They Know It's Christmas?'.

This collection is too beautiful to break up into an mp3 here or there so here it is, all zipped up. It's Elvis's O Come All Ye Faithful, which is supposedly out of print, complete with outtakes, acetate versions, and alternate takes and mixes. The sound quality is A+. I ususally play this for my guests at Christmastime and everyone flips for it. Enjoy!

Anybody have any Chrlie Brown Christmas music mp3-love to share? :wavey:

Just for that Ryan, I'm gonna post it AND the 12" mix. :p

I love the pretenders' 2,000 Miles, but I don't own it. There is a Coldplay cover circulating, but it just isn't the same.

I downloaded this last night- haven't listened to it yet but just wanted to say thank you. :wavey:

You're welcome. :wavey:

The Christmas song I prefer is Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas. These are three of my favourite versions:

Rosemary Clooney - Have yourself a Merry little Christmas

Judy Garland - have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Coldplay - Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Romy

Has anyone got Bruce Springsteen singing Merry Christmas Baby?

It's on A Very Special Christmas Vol 1 (the one with Stevie's original Silent Night). I only have this on tape and I really want to put it on a compilation I'm making, which is possibly the greatest Christmas compilation in the history of man! And I'll post the whole thing if someone posts the Springsteen track for me :D

Thanks in advance!
