*Possible* update on Best Of...or could be a dead end?
I was searching on amazon to see if there was a possible update on the status of Stevie's Best Of album which was "released" November 7th. Of coarse, the site didn't change anything, but a discussion is going on about the album if you scroll down the page, and yesterday, a amazon user posted this in the discussion..."I tried to order this cd and it came up as available January 19, 2007."...interesting, because Stevie is kicking off her tour Feb. 6th. Any thoughts?

This makes the Florida, Hawaii, and Vegas dates a whole lot less random...

yayyyyy!!! hope its tru. it'd be nice 2 finally have her realease something at least, and shes had plenty of time 2 record a few new songs!!!
|
Ugh...I'm still perplexed as to why people want her to re-release songs that everyone already has
I could honestly care less about the disc and most likely won't buy it unless it has something on it that I don't already have. |

If shes not going to release a new cd (which I doubt she is), then I think this is the next best thing! |

You do make a good point about the possibility of her putting new songs into the set list...I hope that truly happens and is the case. I know this will sell and some of y'all are excited about it - I'm just not one of those people  |

Nah...I cannot spend money on a bunch of songs I already have...:o |

I think if she went out again like GD tour we would get close to that exact set list. And I am very sick of Circle Dance (Already you might ask? YES), HAEWAFY, and her new crappy BS version of Fall From Grace. If anyone thinks she rocked on that song on this tour you are dellusional, she stood there and BSed the vocal that makes the song. |

I think it'll be nice to finally... after nearly six years... have a "new" Stevie album to buy. Even if it is just a "best of."
My hope is that, if it doesn't contain any NEW songs, that it'll at least feature some of the 7" single mixes/edits. And if it's a Rhino release, it's highly likely we will get some of those (just as we did with 'The Very Best of Fleetwood Mac'). Like I said before, some fans will probably pass on this, but it's nice to at least have the choice. |

Besides, I'm still not entirely convinced that she's not purposely stalling for some reason (perhaps hoping that Warner Bros will drop her from her contract, so she doesn't have to buy herself out of it). |

Other than one or two STELLAR moments - this year has sucked a$$   But, tommorow IS another day  |

Stevie Nicks is taking a break from the touring circuit at the moment, but she's keeping busy with her Soldier's Angel Foundation, which aims to lift the spirits of wounded US soldiers through music. The singer was in Hollywood earlier this month for rock photographer Neal Preston's first-ever West Coast photo exhibit, after which proceeds totaling $25,000 were donated to the Soldier's Angel Foundation, organizers announced. Others who reportedly came out to support the cause were Neil Diamond, Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart, the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Anthony Kiedis and director Cameron Crowe. The foundation, which Nicks started this year, provides iPods to service personnel who have been maimed or wounded in battle. The singer told NMC that she fills the iPods with her favorite songs and then delivers them to the soldiers. According to a spokesperson for Nicks, the performer will issue a greatest hits album next spring. Any further plans will be announced early next year. Nicks' last solo album, "Trouble in Shangri-La," was released in 2001. Her latest with Fleetwood Mac, "Say You Will," came out in 2003 and was followed by an extensive world tour and two DVD releases. Nicks, who currently has only two shows scheduled in the coming months (shown below), toured Australia and New Zealand this year and tagged along on several dates with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. |
Thanks for posting that, MM!

Hopefully those potential "further plans" will include a new studio album. |

Hell, I'd be thrilled with a live recording of "Circle Dance." Or even "Rock And Roll." |

I'm hoping for a Rhino dualdisc hits set with all (and I mean ALL) the videos. |
Seems Mark Needham is mixing or engineering the "Best Of". His site has it listed as:
Stevie Nicks - Forthcoming album "Best of Stevie Nicks", scheduled release date February 2007 [Rhino/Wea] http://www.markneedham.com/ |

This is interesting, because back in September when Nodmod posted a link to Mark Needham's site (in this thread), one of the projects it listed him as working on was "Stevie Nicks - Live at the Montreux Jazz Festival." Perhaps something from that performance ("Woodstock," "Rock And Roll," "Stand Back," "Dreams") is going to be included on the 'best of'? After all, any of her classic hits that would be included on the compilation are already mixed/engineered, and I doubt they'd go the remixed Ã* la 'Timespace' route again. |

THats what I was thinking. Why would those songs need to be "engeneered and mixed"? THeres gotta be somehing else too it. I hope this is not just whishful thinking. |
