I know what y'all are thinking, but....
I still think "S.O.S." and "Dancing Queen" are two of the coolest songs EVAH!!

mikeschmike 11-15-2006 02:29 PM

My favorite is Take a chance on me. With Super Trouper coming in a close second. Guilty pleasure? Maybe. Freakin' sweet? Absolutely.

I love too many of the Abba classics to choose an overall favourite I've always thought 'The day before you came' is one of their most underrated songs.

Villavic 11-15-2006 06:24 PM

WINNER TAKES IT ALL !!!!
Super Trouper
Thank you for the music
Dancing Queen

and many more...

ELIUD 11-15-2006 06:25 PM

My favorite is The Visitors. When I listen to it, I remember a really cool ass video one of the local dance bars showed with it. It was a montage of the movies Alien and Aliens showing Sigorney Weaver kickin' some alien queen ass! It was such a great song to dance too while watching it on the big screen. If I could, I'd redo the video with clips from South Park of Cartman getting "taken" and anal-probed by "visitors". I'd also add shots of him watching the movie Aliens. Mostly shots of him watching Aliens, mostly.

My close second is Chiquitita.

PsychCat 11-15-2006 06:55 PM

Kudos to Gypsy-Rhiannon for dishing out the ABBA-love!!

The videos are hilarious.... bless their hearts... but SO very hip for the day.
And let's hear it for Frida... Our Lady of the Perpetual Coiffe.

You're welcome... one of my fave subjects other than FM... ;) I realised today that I've been an Abba fan for 30 years! ****! I saw Abba the movie in 77 when I was 7!

goldustsongbird 11-15-2006 07:41 PM

I can't stand Super Trouper. :sorry: Never have liked it.

But the part where Ben chases Frida near the end cracks my **** up. Every. single. time. It just looks so funny. Come baaaaaack....

Count me in with the ABBA lovers. Knowing Me, Knowing You is my 2nd fave to Dancing Queen. (Which incidentally is my ring tone on my cell phone).

iamstevienicks 11-17-2006 12:31 PM

IKTSGO is fabulous

But some of the stuff on her swedish album is orgasmic

golddustdragon 11-18-2006 07:51 PM

Here's a French and Saunders spoof of Abba:

And here's a funny Abba parody starring all the members themselves:

DownOnRodeo 11-18-2006 08:48 PM

That parody video was interesting. I didn't know they ever got together in the same room in recent years except for funerals etc, eg Stig Andersson's.

Big fan here and one of the lucky few Americans to have seen them live when they came here on their short and only North American tour in '79.For solo songs I love "Can't Shake Lose' by Agnetha and "Thernody ' by Frida ..Chiquitita is my favorite Abba song .I don't see them as a guilty pleasure at all though ..they were far too musically accomplished to be considered that.

They weren't in the same room (it's fake)...only for the Sweden MAMMA MIA were they all there, but they didn't get on stage.

I love ABBA too. I discovered them in 96 at 18 and just totally fell in love with them. I'm a Frida fan more than anything but it's great to see everyone sharing in the ABBA love. How did I miss this thread!!!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I never met any FM members, but here is my pic of me and Frida from 03 :)

And if anyone has the Super Troupers DVD, if you watch the part Frida is walking down the red carpet in Vegas...I'm behind her-totally awesome day. I don't have many of those LOL!
