Have You Ever Felt This Way????

Ok maybe it is just me, or maybe not but..... Have you ever listened to a Stevie song either on c.d or been watching a concert dvd and get this welling feeling. It kind or starts in you pit of your stomach and works its way up and it is kind of this feeling of OMG STEVIE ABSOLUTELY KICKS BUTT and you almost start to cry..........

Do any of you all ever get this feeling???? Feel free to discuss all emotions that run through your head when in a Stevie state of mind.

Much Love,
Ethan

Once while actually watching Stevie perform with Mick's Zoo at the Belly Up Tavern in Solano Beach about 19 years I ago I had a very similar feeling of something welling up in the pit of my stomach and working it's way up .I figured out it was due to the fact I had drank beer after having numerous bourbons and soda .Just goes to show you there is something to that old saying."Whiskey on beer never fear. Beer on whiskey pretty risky."

This is why I love BATB so much. Happens EVERYTIME i play it.

That feeling (or something like it) is why I'm so in debt right now, and also a lot better off than I was several years ago. I could write a great big book on this topic, but the gist is that it's transformative. Also, it's fun, which is a rare combination. And BATB gets it for me each time, too. FYI, lots of drinking while listening to, say, the Enchanted box set is a *totally* different welling-up feeling.

Sometimes. I used to. It doesn't happen too much now. As much as I love her, I don't really have a large, personal connection to her music as a whole.
Silver Springs on the Dance does/did something for me. Goodbye Baby from LIB used to really get to me. And I get a certain feeling when I listen to Blue Water. It's calming.

I feel this way when I am watching and/or listening to early Stevie stuff- not so much now. The only time I well up now is right before she comes out on stage for the first time of the evening. When she first walks out, I tear up. But I do that at almost all concerts.

I'm not crazy about BATB, but I do like that version. But Angel is where it's at for me. C'mon, Stevie doing the Charleston? How cute is that?

You're right about Angel. It's the dancing and the look of excitement, happiness, enjoyment on her face. I also get a little weepy when I watch her do the Ebony Eyes thing with Bob Welch (Cal Jam, I think?).

stevierocks87 11-13-2006 08:13 PM

YES. This happened a few nights ago. I was driving home listening to The Dance, and got this overwhelming/almost crying feeling thinking "wow this band is SO incredibible. I love them SO much".

I told my boyfriend and he accused me of caring more about Fleetwood Mac than our relationship :p

well, maybe so.

(joke. probably ;) )

:wavey: Adam :wavey:

p.s. You Make Lovin Fun on the dance is amazing. I never really could move pass the "oh I'm just a silly girl but darling I love you" christine lyric style, but the combination of music/instrumentation/voices (especially Christine's voice over Lindsey's guitar and the finale harmonies/ stop ending) makes a just WOW song....

I can barely tolerate this show because she seems so miserable. :(

Thanks! I thought it was an adorable pic when I saw it too. They're not my babies, but I'd adopt them in a heartbeat if I was given the chance. It was just a picture I saved from an email I had gotten. Glad you liked it. :) :wavey:

Ghost_Tracker 11-16-2006 01:03 AM

No, I don't. :blob2:

And if I did, I wouldn't a- a- ad- *sob!* ad-mit it!

OHHHH, okay! Yep! Happens all the time, 'specially during Beauty and the Beast and Has Anyone Ever Written Anything for You.

Stevie's a pro, Ethan - she knows exactly how guys and girls feel and how to bring out an emotion.

i.m.o. it's part of how she teaches (and entertains).

P.S. - Believe it or not this has happened to me during "Go Your Own Way" in "Live in Boston."

Because it's just so well-done and they show SO much talent there that it's literally beautiful.

Sahara 11-17-2006 05:32 PM

Yep!

A few months ago, I hadn't listened to Stevie in a while and finally got round to watching the Storytellers show .... and I just sat there for an hour enthralled. Seriously, like watching my first dvd (The Dance) for the first time ALL OVER AGAIN. I was on a Stevie freak-out for about two days afterwards.
It was amazing, just like, "Right, this is why I fell so much in love with this woman!"

PS: Angel -- sooooo cute! *runs off to watch it again*

I totally know what that is like. During Gold Dust, I had started listening to a lot of Dan Fogelberg and some Eagles and really no Stevie at all. So I didn't go and see Stevie because I wasn't "in that mode". Then all of a sudden it all came back to me, and I am more of a chiffonhead now than ever.

Much Love,
Ethan
