Choose one concert
 

If you could travel in time, just for one day, to go to a Fleetwood Mac concert, what show would you choose? or from what tour?

I would choose any good show (cause I know there were bad nights) from the Tusk tour. Listening Stevie live singing Sara at her best is priceless.

I'd want to see them in early 1975, doing Station Man and Get Like You Used to Be. Chris fronted the band on that tour and her voice was in top form--would have loved to have seen that.

A second choice: Mac in the curtailed Mystery tour, with Weston on lead guitar.

ITA. 1975 all the way. second choice would be rumours tour ... but i've always been a big fan of the 1975 tour.

I would travel back to see the "Shakin the Cage" tour of '88 and the "Mask" tour of 90/91 - I love the bootlegs of these. Although a 75 concert would be awesome - one of the best set-lists FM have ever had...

'75 most definitely followed closely by the rumours tour~

I would go to the last show in St. Louis on the Tusk Tour. The video from that show, and the bootleg are awesome. Everyone seems happy and the performances don't suffer much from any "substances." ;)

Next to that would be the Nashville show from the Rumours tour. Another great set, and this time, everyone was a little tipsy. :laugh:

If I could travel back, I'd say the Tusk tour. Maybe the show where Lindsey did the version of So Afraid thats on the double live album.

I'm still quite pissed that I missed them on the Dance tour as well...so that's a close 2nd.

1974 Heroes tour..... What a setlist this is!

1) Any show from 1973, either the Penguin or Mystery To Me lineups

2) Any show with the Future Games/Bare Trees lineup

Rumours tour April 13 1977: Amsterdam, Holland show. I couldn't go because my Mom said I was too young to go alone (nobody wanted to come with me) and when she finally said:"OK, I'll come with you" it was sold out :mad: I'd love to see that show.

Either one of the '75/'76 shows (Kansas City '76 comes to mind) or a Mirage show (I've always loved the boot from the Alpine Valley show.)

Without question: Mirage Tour. Oakland, CA, the rescheduled show. This was my first Mac show and I'd kill to see it again. With better seats, though.

I was at that show.
Flew my ass down from Oregon. Both times. It was a lot of fun. I got stoned with strangers, and made my way up to the stage for the last 4 songs or so.
SOTM was spectacular.

USFEST...er mudfest...I was too busy playing slipnslide.

i'm so jealous of all you guys who got to see these awesome shows. i think i was born about 20 years too late.

I was with my parents and we were as far away from the stage as possible. :(

I can still picture SOTM, though, with those huge lights flashing into the audience.

Considering I was born in 1986 and missed everything it really doesn't matter what I concert I saw. Just to see any of them would have been great. If I had to choose I would say anything from the "Tusk" and "Rumours" tours. I would have loved to see them back in their heyday. I also would have loved to see any tour with the MTM line-up.

Homie...recognizing the first sign of "stevie obsessiveness" is critical. You are already using titles of her songs in every day context, visiting her forum daily etc. The first step to recovery is removing all candles and crystals from your home. Step two...if you are ever in contact with a white winged dove, you must resist the urge to catch it and sing "woo baby woo." to it. Step three...>I don't remember-I flunked out after step 1 . :lol:

oh, and go to your "user cp" (it's located on the top left of the main page ledge screen.) Go under "edit signature" and type in the little box what you want it to say. After that, go to "edit email and password" so the little bastard that broke into your account and made your signature what it is today, won't be able to do it again. ;) ;) :p

And I WOULD have recorded it. It WOULD have been great and we ALL would be crying right now. And the world would be as it should. :laugh:

Tusk-tour. simple. That's the tour my parents wouldn't let me go to see them in Rotterdam. I was fourteen and madly in love with the Tusk-album.
Second: Boston tea party. Even only for the 25 min. Rattlesnakeshake/Madge/mash.

I'll bet Lindsey was stoned off his ass...and Mick & Stevie were coked to the gills. You wouldn't be able to tell.

I would travel back to either a Mirage Show, preferably the LA show where the Mirage video was taped or an Early Behind the Mask show.

And the McVies...Don't forget the McVies. By then, they were both pros with the bottle.

I think he meant that it was a good solid performance, that they weren't out of control, out of tune, etc. despite any substances they may have been on. :shrug:

September 1, 1980, Hollywood Bowl. No question.

November 1979 at Madison Square Garden on the Tusk tour (my first FM show) or any show on the Mirage tour. Indianapolis in 1982 was pretty great.

I like my Fleetwood Mac simple - no back up singers or additional players.
I like it raw and flawed, with offkey harmonies, so that nothing is left to overshadow the energy of Mick, John and Lindsey.

ok you guys want to hear a true stevie/christine story???? ...

my jazz arranging instructor is a very good stand up bass player... doesn't play the electric as well... anyway....

he was a chef in kansas city (not a chief)... and he cooked for the celeb's that came thru town at the catered events... .like at arrowhead stadium etc....

and he met stevie and fm a few times because they were in KC quite a bit in 70's and 80's...

anyway he said stevie was so coked up one show rehearsal... before a real show.. and she came up to him and said... "greg... i gotta go on soon and i'm all freaked out... i haven't eaten and i need something that's gonna get me to snap out of it..."

editor's note: greg is telling me this story in a santa monica bar called "o'briens' on wilshire blvd we were drinking guiness on tap...

so he says to Stevie, "give me 5 mins i'll come find you, stay in this room.... she says thank you".....

he brings her back a spicy cajun... tofu burrito .... and says.. "now stevie this is gonna be real hot but i want you to bite down on it before you swallow it regardless..."

stevie grabs burrito and bites down and starts to make a snarling sound.... he yells at her... bite down one more!!! one more... she bites down again... he hands her some water.... she chugs it.... he says she has her head down for about 3 mins which was a long time to him... then she lifts her head up... grabs him for a hug... says i love you greg.... christine makes her way over to her and says ... c'mon we gotta go to make up....

so i asked him... did christine say anything to you... (i'm a huge chris fan) he says "oh yeah man... she was always hounding me to get her the best champagne i could get my hands on....

he later noted, he saw chris jamn at a kent state univ... and as an upcoming jazz bassist he thought she "was the ****" as he put it.....and stevie was a doll

that's a true story on hearsay from my instructor.... i can picture it in my head because i've loved FM for so long.... :thumbsup:

Any 79/80 Tusk concert.
Or, alternatively, any Mirage concert.
