I have a medieval monks costume complete with hood. It looks like the ghost of Christmas past, and hopefully will hide the fact that I am too old to go trick or treating.

 Here's the funny part: She's never seen any Nightmare On Elm Street movies! All of the sudden, she went from angels and princesses to blood and gore!

cliffdweller 10-25-2006 10:12 AM

I'm going as Magenta from Rocky Horror. I love Halloween parties! :blob1:

strandinthewind 10-25-2006 10:32 AM

Black Bart -- which is a tight black wife beater, black jeans, black cowboy boots with spurs, two fake pistols on my black cowboy belt, and a badge affixed somewhere. To goth it up, I am wearing a dragon pendant (that flashes light) on a black leather string.

Gothic School Girl.....I bought my outfit at Hot Topic last year.
Short, red/black/white, plaid skirt with crossed safety pins and skulls, white shirt with crossed safety pins, a plaid tie what matches the skirt, black knee high socks, and black mary janes.

Here is the shirt(It is all I can find. I can't find a pic of the skirt):

I'm with ya, sistah (I can't believe i just said sistah). I haven't dressed up in about 4 or 5 years -and my last costume was LAME...I was a starbucks barista (so basically I just wore my old Sbux apron).

This year I'll be with my nephew - who's going to be Sir Lancelittle (his take on Sir Lancelot.)

Honestly? I AM jealous  I would love to go trick-or-treating, but I'm too self-consious....

So the freedom and such that it must take to do it - and the degree to which you enjoy Halloween - it's just awesome! Now - hopefully you take your son with you too though....:\

irishgrl 10-25-2006 02:35 PM

Sex-ay pirate outfit, Suze! And Tracye, I can totally see you as Magenta!

Taking your son is very cool, and I understand that it's way fun. But I've kicked teenagers off my porch for being too old, I sure as hell ain't about to give candy out to a grown woman. I don't go to work every day to make $ to buy candy for grownups - if they want it they can go & buy their own. I work to buy it for young kids, to ruin their health & rot their teeth.

it helps that Im short and that Im wearing a costume where you cant see my face  I'll be big sis :p

dont be such a party pooper!

DrummerDeanna 10-25-2006 02:59 PM

I'm always too cheap to buy candy to give to ANYONE

The worst year though - Halloween 1999 - a group of four teenagers came to our door after literally knocking over a group of kids- my brother in law started to close the door on them - two of them THREW themselves against the door to stop him from closing it - luckily my bro-in-law is a big guy - so he did get the door shut - we then called the cops becasue they kept banging on the door and DEMANDING candy.....

So as long as you're not doing that, Mary...more power to ya

irishgrl 10-25-2006 03:01 PM

I think folks will get a kick out of it myself, and the ones that dont, oh well

DrummerDeanna 10-25-2006 03:06 PM

^^

Yeah - some people won't care...you may get flak from others - my sister, bro-in-law and I used to heckle the people who'd come to the door with a tiny baby trick-or-treating....you KNOW they're not doing it for the baby

What's your son going to be for Halloween?

Party pooper nothing, lady. I'm sorry but dressing up & walking around with your kids is one thing. An adult begging their neighbors for candy is quite another. :distress:

Listen, I love Halloween, it's my favorite holiday of the year. I decorate my house inside AND out and I don't even have kids. I buy candy every year to give to the kids, and this is the first year I haven't carved a pumpkin IN MY LIFE. I've had several great Halloween parties & I love to dress up in costume. I love haunted houses, and pumpkin farms. But I would never beg my neighbors for candy - it strikes me as tacky & rude. You can still be in the spirit of Halloween and you can still be a kid at heart without doing that.

Can we just agree to disagree? On Tuesday you'll go & grab as much loot as you can & I'll scream "hey, git off my porch, you old bastard" in my best granny voice and whack people with a broom or something. OK?
