I dont believe I've ever heard that.

mylittledemon 10-10-2006 06:08 PM

I havent seen any of the shows but obviously am bothered he's not doing "Down on Rodeo", a highlight of his new album. I think his "Out of the Cradle" stuff is genius but nice to see him doing things like Murrow. I think he should replace Go Insane with Street of Dreams.

I definitely like the SOD idea.

considering he did "the dance" version of GI, I probably would have preferred that as well. I love the album version, but hate that spooky eerie version that he does.

and I love the way he says "loooooosers" in the studio one:cool:

i have to say i'm a little disappointed he's not doing any of Out of The Cradle.
Although I know this is all about the new stuff and being current - which I support whole-heartedly.
Maybe he should do a cover from Joni Mitchell's Blue album and then follow it up with a Radiohead song.

OMG..you HAVE to listen to it. The chorus was a little much for me at first, but I love the way he sings the verses (even though there really aren't any "clear" verses:laugh: " and the guitar. One of my favs of Lindsey's.

ewww..i'm the opposite. The Dance version of Go Insane is class, the album version is WAAAY too dated.

Well, I learned something new today. I will check it out somehow.

michelle2677 10-10-2006 06:28 PM

^^ha..I just remember watching the dance for the FIRST time. I had only been a FM fan for about..oh...2 weeks. I was not familiar with anything really. But when he came out and did that song (I had never even heard the orginal) My friend and I said.."hmmmm....someone needs to lay off the strong stuff" It's too dark for me. I like the upbeat temp of the other.

Well its a pretty dark song anyway...I think the sound of the "original" version made too light of the subject matter. Kinda how GYOW is a f*ck you kinda song but sounds really pop-happy.

Doing What I Can

foxyluva 10-10-2006 06:44 PM

I would love to see Lindsey, as a solo act, or with FM, do "Tango in the Night"...

GREAT idea but I gave up hope on that song ever getting done live a long time ago! Then again, they broke out "I Know I'm Not Wrong" on the SYW tour...

wondergirl9847 10-10-2006 07:42 PM

Weeeeelllll....

I am shocked he's not doing Down on Rodeo...and SGCYM because they were both spec-freakin-tacular on Soundstage. I am also disappointed at no OOTC stuff, that is mind boggling.

I think he put his setlist together especially for me because he's doing ISA, Go Insane (I am sooooo excited to see/hear this live for the first time!!!), Under the Skin, and Holiday Road (!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Cannot freakin' wait!! 2 weeks from today is my first show in Chicago!!!!!!!

chiliD 10-10-2006 07:54 PM

For coming out with an album that he didn't want electric songs interfering with "the concept", I'm disappointed he's not really keeping with "the concept" of the new album for the tour, as well. I just think he should come out and play the album all the friggin' way through, take a break and come back and play other material. He's playing just way too many of his Fleetwood Mac songs for my taste. UTS is his FOURTH solo album (fifth if you count GOS)...this is a Lindsey Buckingham tour, not a Fleetwood Mac tour. He has enough solo material to pack a concert set: including the old, the new & also give us a preview of the upcoming "rocker" album, too. Sure, GYOW is a given...and maybe a couple of other obscure tunes of his from FMac days, and I'll give him playing tunes from SYW, since his tunes from that were basically a solo album anyway. No "The Chain", or "World Turning" or "Second Hand News" or whatever else he's copped out & included in the set. :distress: (although, I'll also give him anything from Tusk since his tunes were basically a solo album within a Fleetwood Mac album.)

Hmm...good point...this would be what I'd like to hear

1) Trouble
2) Never Going Back Again
3) Big Love
4) Down on Rodeo
5) Murrow
6) Countdown
7) Street of Dreams
8) Bleed to Love Her
9) Holiday Rd
10) Soul Drifter
11) under the Skin
12) I'm So Afraid
13) Shut Us Down
14) Not That Funny
15) I Know I'm Not Wrong
16) GYOW

AliceLover 10-10-2006 08:30 PM

I am pretty disappointed that Down on Rodeo and Try for the Sun aren't in there. Ive never seen Lindsey solo and i want to see him do SOLO songs. I love Out of the Cradle, im upset a lot of those songs aren't in there.

golden braid 10-10-2006 08:38 PM

I would love to hear:

Tango in the Night - Even thought it's a FM song I think it would rock.
Countdown - At least a couple of OOTC would be nice. I would like Don't Look Down too.
Down on Rodeo - One of my favorite solo songs.
Slow Dancing - I think it would be fun to hear.

TheMacAttack 10-10-2006 11:49 PM

Anything from OOTC

Absolutely.

And "Surrender the Rain".....

I would like to have "That's All For Everyone" instead of ANY other FM song- that or "Walk a Thin Line".

Damn, you beat me to it, that's exactly what I was going to say. He's completely overlooking that album and completely relying on the FM material.

And in doing so missing a great opportunity. Not like FM's stuff is so bad, but you all know what I mean. We done heard that, and if people are showing for his solo shows, chances are they would love to hear more of his solo sh*t. *sigh*

BTW, didn't know you were "in town" (US) for the shows! Hope you are having a great time. Coming to SF? lol. :wavey:

No, I'm not heading out west unfortunately, I am doing two more shows this weekend and then I am heading back to Europe again. :(

Still very awesome. It's a shame you couldn't extend your trip to Los Angeles, he is doing a buttload(3? 4?) of shows in that area.

It's so cool you got to come over for Linds, though. :wavey:

desertangel 10-11-2006 03:22 AM

Under the Skin
Down on Rodeo
Show You How

He's been doing both of them.

As for my picks, anything he hasn't been playing live since 1997. Including those songs that have yet to see a live performance of any kind.

Yeah I noticed no Cradle stuff in the lineup and that is definitely a masterpiece...Soul Drifter & You Do or You Don't would be ones I would love to hear.

shackin'up 10-11-2006 07:19 AM

SOMEONE'S GOTTA CHANGE YOUR MIND!!!!!!!! I'm not real familiar with alot of LB's solo stuff, but I'm learning  Thanks to you guys :wavey: But I absolutely fell in love with this song on Soundstage. Looooooovvvvvvve the horns! (or what sounds like horns :) )

golddustwoman77 10-11-2006 09:27 AM

I think it should be our nation's anthem!! or maybe "save the children" "feed the children" "find the children" theme of sorts... the song speaks to me on that level  ...feeling that with his juniper release as well.

Thank you for some Lindsey lovin (alittle afternoon delight). Can you post the lyrics?

I would drive to Cleveland just for this song alone, if I had too. :xoxo:

Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind
(Lindsey Buckingham)
(Various Artists) Reprise Records Presents Music For
The 12th Annual GLAAD Music Awards/Under The Skin

Little children
Out in the rain
Slippin' and slidin'
Covered in pain
Bodies broken
Soaked to the bone
Little children
Going on home

I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know
Someone oughta make 'em feel fine
And so, and so, and so, and so, and so, and so
Someone's gotta change, change your mind

Flying down Juniper
Freeway of lines
Well, I'll go on home
Kiss it goodbye
Mother and father
Covered in snow
Little children
Going on home

I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know
Someone oughta make 'em feel fine
And so, and so, and so, and so, and so, and so
Someone's gotta change, change your mind
I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know
Someone oughta make 'em feel fine
And so, and so, and so, and so, and so, and so
Someone's gotta change, change your mind
Mind...
Mind...

Another to prove <--I do believe it is "nothing to prove" but I could be wrong
Your blood is mine
I have no children
Just some design
Woven mystery
It fills up this womb
No little children
Left to go home

Sarah 10-11-2006 03:20 PM

Nothing to prove, yes.

I would have liked to see Soul Drifter (mainly for mother, because that's her favorite).. Walk A Thin Line, Time Bomb Town, and Shut Us Down.

Well, really, I wish he'd just stand up there and go through every song he's ever recorded. And some he hasn't. Hell, I'll listen to anything he sings.
