Nothing in the world is more frustrating than

............

danax6 10-05-2006 04:39 AM

...a digital photo machine telling you your order can be picked up on Oct 5th and then when you get to the store, they tell you it's going to take another two days. I leave for the States tomorrow people, I had this all perfectly planned out.

sara1998 10-05-2006 06:49 AM

Sitting at work while your plant is on shutdown and you have nothing to do and no paper to write.....:(

SortaSavageLike 10-05-2006 07:46 AM

Trying to figure out exactly what a "Contchahoken" is.

Mari 10-05-2006 07:52 AM

... seeing a deleted post and wondering what it said ;)

actually, I don't have much to do at work today (as the rest of this week), I find that frustrating a bit.

JazmenFlowers 10-05-2006 08:35 AM

having the urge to puke, but can't.

yes, I'm sick.

irishgrl 10-05-2006 08:44 AM

gosh and you're still online? I hope you feel better soon

DrummerDeanna 10-05-2006 01:01 PM

Just getting over a cold or something and not feeling normal....and wondering when the hell you'll feel normal again...right now I just feel "blah"

sara1998 10-05-2006 01:59 PM

Coming to the ledge to find that hardly no one has posted about anything....

Rickypt 10-05-2006 02:03 PM

Going to Ginger's Trois knowing that I will get stinking drunk, resulting in waking up at 2 am and not being able to get back to sleep and spending the entire workday exhausted and with a headache, telling myself do not ever do that again, or at least stop at two cosmos. And then 4 days later doing the same thing all over again.

I'm sorry sweetie!

Originally last night I wrote "not being able to sing" because I was almost completely hoarse, still am mostly hoarse. But I wrote this big long thing about it.
It is immensely frustrating for me. And I can't believe Stevie wasn't hoarse more, with how much singing she did.
I think I would die if I couldn't sing permanently.

You can see deleted posts?

Mari 10-06-2006 03:52 AM

:p

I meant I can see a line of dots and the little "post deleted by user... " comment, where once used to be a post...

Hmmm. I'm just asking because I'm trying to figure out if that is a glitch or if it's supposed to be that way.

DrummerDeanna 10-06-2006 12:03 PM

Why not just delete the post/thread entirely? I don't understand why it was replaced with just dots, or was that just the choice of the thread starter? So basically I'm asking, can one delete a post/thread that one starts?

Yep, you can delete a post or a thread.

Amber replaced the text of her post with dots and the message is "edited by.." not deleted so I think we are good.

Ah -ok - so then why not just delete the thread rather than deleting the content of the first message but leaving dots? This is what I don't understand

I don't think non mods can delete threads anymore. I've tried a few times, and unless I'm missing something, you can't. Used to be able to, though. Or maybe I am missing something. Can still delete posts, but not if they are thread starters. As far as I can tell.

Anyway, I still wanted to hear what nothing is more frustrating than for others, so I left dots, duh, because you need a post to have 10 characters. And I deleted the contents of the first message b/c it wasn't exactly what I wanted to say, but didn't feel like writing something new right then, but still wanted to hear others' responses.

Not sure why that is so hard to figure out, or so inexplicable. Unless...

DrummerDeanna 10-06-2006 03:25 PM

^^^

That's why I'm mildly confused, I remember recently trying to delete some thread - and I couldn't figure out how to do it  Whatever...it's not that important - I was more curious than anything.

And to stay on topic: Nothing is more annoying than people who don't cover their mouth when they cough and/or sneeze. This has really been bugging me lately.

mikeschmike 10-06-2006 03:26 PM

Nothing is more frustrating then a slow moving work day, and realizing that you're only halfway thorugh it.

I hear that! Oh frustrating...oops I said "annoying" in my last thread. Oh well - what are ya gonna do.

Nothing is more frustrating than trying to put together a 3 minute newscast..with next to no news!

Yeah - and it's no treat. I wonder what the hell women DO in public restrooms - I mean good God - how a woman can get urine to do the things women get it to do....it's amazing...and disgusting.

I hate public restrooms.....

Dude - I worked at a homeless shelter in Phoenix - in the middle of summer- NOTHING can gross me out

I remember this one time we went in at the end of the day to clean the bathroom - and dear God. There was vomit/****/urine/undidentified matter EVERYWHERE. The walls, the sink, the toilet. I wretch just remembering it.

So really I guess I shouldn't complain about public toilets - the homeless have it way worse...their bathrooms are nuclear zones.

We were too busy covering our bodies with latex in order to avoid coming into contact with said contents of the bathroom. But oh the smell. That never really leaves ya! Luckily that was a worst case scenario -the bathrooms weren't THAT wrecked on a daily basis - but still never a place you'd want to take a magazine and chill.

Just free dinner every night (we ate the leftovers from that night's homeless feeding). But it was an amazing experience, one I hope to do again...I've really let my work with the homeless slide in the last several years, but have been thinking about starting up again. It's an issue I feel strongly about.

Anyway - I got paid nothing..in fact I paid to go on that trip lol - but the folks who live and work the place permanently - I think they get $100 a month plus free housing, food and toiletries.
