Baseball playoffs

My Giants had a total meltdown, but I just got tickets to two of the A's playoff games. Looks like they will be playing Detroit. They are my second favorite team, and filled with eye candy. I will root for the Bay Area over any part of the country.

Anyone else going to playoff games this year?

estranged4life 09-25-2006 11:27 AM

Nope...

not making a trip, but I will be watching.

The Twins have the magic number to 2 to clinch the AL wildcard, thus showing that the White Sux were indeed a fluke.

It's funny, I like the Yanks, A's, Tigers & the Twins-So I predict an AL World Series win this October.

The NL just cant compete this year-Mets, Cards (Who may not make it, their lead is down to 3 games), Dodgers or Padres & possibly the Phillies.

DavidMn 09-25-2006 02:13 PM

my friend and I are splitting a postseason strip. Theyre nosebleed seats, but one of us will be there each game.:D

DavidMn 09-25-2006 03:30 PM

Whats really goint to be interesting this week is the NL wild card race between San Diego, the DOdgers and the Phillies. It looks like San Diego has a slight bit of seperation from the Dodgers. so it's probably between the Dodgers and Phillies for the last spot. I have a feeling the Dodgers are going to be the odd team out.

I'm hoping the Giants get their s&#^ together this weekend and kick the Dodgers out of the playoffs. That will be one redeeming aspect to this miserable baseball season.

estranged4life 09-26-2006 03:21 PM

I picking the...

Twins to in the whole damn thing this year!!! Too bad the Overrated Braves couldnt be their personal bitch in the World Series this year (ala 1991).

Brian "Atlanta Braves-Personal bitch of the NY Yanks" j.

ryan8472 09-26-2006 05:25 PM

Teams that have clinched:
- Detroit Tigers
- New York Yankees
- Minnesota Twins

Magic number for Oakland A's - 2

- New York Mets

After them, who the hell knows what will happen.

DavidMn 09-27-2006 04:50 PM

I cant believe what's happening to the Cardinals!!! If the Astros overtake them, this will go down as the biggest collapse in baseball history no doubt about it! Now the Cards have lost 7 in a row, and the Astors have won 7 in a row.

estranged4life 09-27-2006 04:56 PM

Nope...

it will not be the biggest collapse-There's been collapses of 13 games in the past years.

As for the Cards/Ass-Holes, Could care less (Not a fan of either team)

Right. Not to split hairs but the Cards were ahead by 9 games only a week ago.

I used to love the Cardinals, but for some reason I just get the cockiest vibe from them lately and it turned me off. They WERE my NL team.

estranged4life 09-28-2006 09:50 PM

The Mets will have...

their work cut out for them now that they have lost Pedro for the rest of the season due to injury.

Also, the Astros won 3-0 and the Cards are losing 9-1 in the bottom of the 7th, so they may be tied for the NL Central lead.

The Tigers lost and the Twins are tied 1-1 in the 11th with the Royals, a Twins victory will also mean a tie in AL Central.

Why not try the Giants for a while? They're not cocky, they just stink. :]

My poor Petey.:distress: El Duque is scheduled for Game 1 and Glavine for 2.

The Mets need to wake up right now. They've had a losing record for September. I think they dropped 13 of 15.

I think I'm allergic to Barry Bonds, so no thanks.

It's down to a half game lead now for the Cards over the Astros. John Kruk last night said if the Astrosd make it, they could very well make it to the world series.

The Cardinals got a big break tonight in them winning and the Astros losing. Now as close as the Astros were, they seem that much farther away now. Go figure...

5-2 final score, which puts Oakland at 2-0. My Twins are fizzling...wild pitches, errors, etc.
