The set list
Allright, its time. What's he gonna sing? Who wants to hear what? etc. I personally hope he keeps the Fleetwood Mac songs fairly low, maybe 3 or 4, Save Me A Place is a must though. I really wanna hear that.
|
I'll say he bases his set on the Soundstage DVD, with a few tunes more from Under The Skin that he'll play by himself, then with some FMac material toward the end. He's only got a (including himself) four piece band...and no bass player...so that is either going to limit him or we're going to hear some wacky arrangements of familiar songs.

I like your setlist minus Mary Lee Jones. Never cared much for it really. Add Bwana in its place and I'm good to go. ;)

I would die, DIE, to hear Street of Dreams. Such an emotive song.
Although I'm surprised to see that no one has made mention of "The Ledge" yet. Now THAT would get some hardcore fans going. |
Maybe he will change the setlist every night.
|
He should play Save Me a Place the same way he did in the Cradle tour, though without all the guitars. He could still get the ukelele, the rhythm guitar and a lead guitar in there.
I hope the set is heavy with Under the Skin songs, and that he plays more stuff from Cradle than he did in the Soundstage DVD. I am not very interested in Fleetwood Mac songs. He should do one or two, only. But it's Lindsey so most of the set list will be songs he has been playing for years. |

One thing I found really strange about the Soundstage setlist was that was no songs from OOTC, very strange, I tought Street Of Dreams / This Nearly Was Mine was a given.
We had one song from both Law and Order and Go Insane, but nothing from OOTC, would love to see Countdown played accoustically a'la the Mark and Brian radio show |
A notable thing about his solo endeavours has been the fact that he hasn't really included any stuff from his solo career into the setlists, apart from the obvious. He wants Trouble to be there because it's his biggest hit. Go Insane is there because it was his second biggest hit and because the rearrangement received a good response from nearly everyone who has heard it. OOTC was a flop by and large so that might be a big enough reason for him not to play anything from that album ever again. What are the chances for the resurrection of Holiday Road then?
So it's likely that the things we'll get from the past will be mainly Fleetwood Mac material, and the rest should be 'new' stuff. The latter is fine by me, but I'd still love him to play That's How We Do It In LA or Loving Cup somewhere in there! Or maybe he's just forgotten how to play the old album tracks. ;) |

I don't think he even remembers half the songs in his early solo albums.
He is not going have any surprises for us. It's going to be Trouble, Go Insane, maybe a coupel of Cradle tunes and the rest will be new stuff and Fleetwood Mac. It's unfortunate, but Lindsey just doesn't take risks on stage. He also has some funny ideas about what to play. In the Cradle tour he didn't play Countdown or Wrong, both of which were released as singles and videos. It doesn't make any sense. Of course, he did give us Red Rover and I Know I'm Not Wrong with FM a couple of years ago, and those are songs I never thougth I would hear live. Maybe he will surprise us after all. |
as long as he plays "Go Your Own Way" I am a happy girl! I never saw his first solo tour so would be thrilled to hear any solo songs really.
Of course I'd love to also hear: Save Me a Place Say Goodbye Steal Your Heart Away Never Going Back Again Trouble and anything from new album and Out of the Cradle! |
Lauren, hi!
I just hope he plays a long time. I do want to hear COME because I love that song live:) |

I don't think this is a completly fair assessment. At the OOTC show I went to I stood there, jaw-dropped, as he opened the show with those acoustic re-toolings of Big Love and Go Insane. He's played the crap out of them since then, but at that moment I was in awe. Also when he did the Soundstage, SGCYM was only released on the GLADD CD. DOR and IAW hadn't been released at all. I mean, sure, he's gonna drag out GYOW and NGBA...with regard to the set list he ain't no Bob Dylan, but he ain't no Stevie Nicks either. :sorry: |
Janet - is that you????
I feel like I don't know anyone on this board anymore- LOL except Patti. Then again I barely post. Is anyone else still around? Are you going to see him? Where? I got my ticket to Denver - cannot wait! Yes, I hope he plays "Come" too actually - such a great song, esp live! Lauren |
Aw, Geez, does that mean women will be fighting up front to be LB's "Come Girl" again? :D
I think it was standard stage banter on the OOTC tour for LB to tell the audience that he'd get to GYOW later, and not to yell for it between every song, something like that. But you know he'll do it. I'm kinda burnt out on it, as well as Big Love, but it's such a show-stopper, he'll have to keep it in. On the other hand, I never get sick of NGBA. I'd like to hear some SYW cuts we didn't get on tour - like Murrow and Miranda, for example. I can't imagine Say Goodbye without Stevie. Hi, Lauren!:wavey: |
Miranda would be awesome, i was just listening to this song going, "man this song rocks!"

I'm with Sarah..
I would love to have a FM-free tour, but I know that won't happen. :distress:
Only exception...Tango in the Night. |

Well I only BARELY consider most of the SYW cuts to be FM songs. After all we all had RR, Come, Murrow, Miranda, and SG when they were LB songs! I've had it with the old FM chestnuts, but he could pull out some of the rarer tracks, esp from Tusk, and I'd be fine with that! |
At this point, I would like to hear the following:
castaway dreams show you how it was you someone ought to change your mind shut us down redrover souldrifter secondhandnews bwana trouble come im so afraid never going back again bleed to love her steal your heart away what makes you think youre the one f*ck it...go for gold...holiday road...family man and covers: blue turns to grey she smiled sweetly and then i want him to do a second set for the following week's show... ;) |
I wouldnt mind hearing Love Minus Zero either.
|
I know I'll be happy with anything he plays, but I really, really, really want him to play stuff from OOTC. I mean, that album is just magical and I imagine it would be triple so live. And it'd be awesome if he did a few of his Tusk songs- and not necessarily the obvious ones. I want Save Me A Place or That's Enough For Me, or even the Ledge. Althugh it would be asking for too much, some of the songs on Go Insane with possibly different arrangements, and maybe even a few songs that may be on the supposed 2007 album.
I'm not getting my hopes up on any of that, and actually would probably be just as happy if he just does his thing the way he wants it, but a girl can dream. If nothing else, I really just want to hear Red Rover live. |
