starts tonight with a 2 hr premiere.

Can't wait! I will be dowloading as soon as I can! New ER tomorrow as well! Everything else might be **** in my life right now but at least I will have some good TV!

DVR is set for the season! But I'll be watching it live tonight!

I. Can't. Wait. I've had 2 dream careers, a singer (which will never happen since I can't sing) and to be a model. Which I think I could have been but I didn't persue it like I should have. Defintely can't now. Damn childbirth!;)

Anyway, I'm stoked - there's a girl from Sacramento and a girl from SF. Somehow, that makes it more fun. :shrug:

I've never watched religiously, but I think I will start tonight. :nod: There's nothing else on at that time that I care to watch, as far as I can remember.

Once again, Wednesday night is the gayest night on TV. All is right with the world.

I've been religious since the first season. (cycle sounds like PMS to me)

nothing else on other than Dancing with the Stars, but it's just the results show, so we can skip it.

What the hell, no one talked about this? I'm stoked, I only missed the first five minutes.
Sooooo....any thoughts? :D I think that Asianey blackey girl is really pretty, but I've only seen 4 girls so far.

I hate myself for enjoying this show. It is entertaining, and that is why I watch it, but I scoff at its affectations of legitamacy. Would you really need such a laborous process to find "America's Next Top Model"? All you would need is a few polaroids of each girl and ten minutes to look through them. Done!

How do they expect these girls to get beauty sleep with Tyra's big melon plastered on every single wall of that house? Her wigs are crazy this season, although nothing will ever top the orange 'do she was rocking for awhile. But about the show...I loved the shoot they did. The model stereotypes were funny, and I hope Naomi saw the "throw your cell phone at the assistant" shot. I don't have a favorite girl, but I know the drunk chick, the creepy twins, and Melrose have to go.

I'm totally bummed that that mom girl with the long brown hair didn't make it, I totally thought she was way prettiest. But the other prettiest girl I like made it (Christian?) she's all asianey black.
I hate that ugly screamy rocker girl. She's not even pretty, WTF? She's heinously irritating. I've already fantasized that she'll be first kicked off. Mwahahahaha!
I like that short haired A.J. girl from Sacramento, too. Oh, also I think Melrose is ugly.

I know. the thing that gets me is that Tyra's known them for what...2 days and already labels them. she was like "I feel like you are constantly making excuses" - I was like, you haven't been around her long enough to come to that conclusion...but again it's just the show trying to make someone a bitch, someone a holy roller, etc. and speaking of holy roller, Ginger made me sick. I was glad she didn't make it.
ITA. Tyra loves her some Tyra. and good thing she's got pictures from her past cause girlfriend has gained some weight. she wore black, black and more black and they rarely shot her below her neck. even her arms are bigger. I ain't hatin cause she still has major sexy curves. her wigs are a little better, but jeez, they need to tone down the shadow near her hairline...that's SUCH a drag queen trick, but it was overdone last night, especially at the judging.

I kept staring at Tyra's hairline, it looked pixelated to me!

My faves so far:

I'm glad she's gone. She needed to be at home with her kids. Did you see how yount they were??!! She especially needed to be home since the dad was in Iraq. Didn't she say she was willing to sacrifice seeing the first time eating, their first step, etc. She's a dumb bitch. There is NO WAY I would do that.
I feel sorry for those kids.

And I know I'm not going to like the girl that poured water on the bed, cause she is NOT sleeping on a bean bag. If I got to be on that show I'd be happy sleeping on the floor, in the bathtub, even on a damn float in the middle of the pool!

Yeah, it gives me nightmares when Tyra tries to "act", too. And I totally agree with Jaz about her labeling people. Also, Melrose didn't talk back to Jay on the set. Also, I still hate both Jays, I've never seen bigger bitches, what the hell? They're not fly enough to be like that. Thank goodness Nige and Twig are there.

True, True. Its a shame though that people have to act like that. She may go far, but she won't win with that attitude.

My favorites (as far as looks go, not personalities) are Caridee, Anchal, Eugena, AJ & Megan.

Amanda is the hotter twin, IMO.

Eugena's eyes are amazing.

Anchal may be the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. I hope they don't hack off her hair, but I'm sure they will.

Monique will stay for a while, great for ratings. But I'd kick her ass. :lol: Hate that rocker Megg chick - she reminds me of that W.T. "Buckwild" broad on "Flava of Love." Fug.


OMG. And Tyra? Is obviously insane. Between her ridiculous sterotype act and her face plastered all over the house (I know it's her show, but good God.) And girl has def. put on a few, but I don't care. Hawt. But insane.

Monique's ass would've been kicked by me, but I do think she is really pretty. I don't think they'll cut Anschal's hair, at least not too much. It would be ridiculous. Normally they do it because they have a vision that the person would look better with different hair, but if they think that about her, they are sadly mistaken. Her face goes perfectly with that hair. Her jaw is wide, so short hair will look icky.

Yeah, the hair thing just all depends. Melrose doesn't have the cheekbones that Anschal does, so she needs to "lift" her face by pulling her hair back.

I watched Cycle 6 last weekend. I had no idea who the winner was. I was surprised it was Danielle. Is she successful now??

They showed her doing a Cover Girl spot during last week's episode - I imagine they'll keep showing those, as they have w/ the previous winners. Her diction has definitely improved!

yeah, I was like "oh, she's been practicing". I thought she sounded mostly fine the way she talked before - she's southern, she's black, and I thought she sounded charming. :shrug: She still has some accent, though, which I am glad to see. She wasn't the brightest bulb sometimes, though - didn't know what a lot of things meant. But I'm really glad she won, she was very cool. Not like, over the top, "I'm so cool", but just laid back and easy going cool.
I'm happy she mastered the talking thing, b/c it seems like during the show, that was tough for her. They would tell her every week, but at the time she seemed a bit incapable of refining her speech. I don't know if she practiced, (I would hope so since they told her all the time) but I didn't see much "improvement" during the show.

I'm kinda on the fence about the whole accent thing. It's not like she cussed, or employed super undecipherable ebonics or anything. She was just a nice southern black girl with the according accent. :shrug: I know people who sell products want their models to sound kind of uniform - California TV accent - but there's a whooooole other country here besides Cal, and I don't think it is a problem to represent those different accents. Like I said before, I would probably place the line at super undecipherable ebonics, (for you ebonics defenders, that is fine, but sometimes I can't understand people. lol.) or hella cussing, but otherwise I think accents are fine.

I thought Danielle was really gorgeous, too. A little short on different expressions, but very long on looking great and modely in every pic. :nod:

Who was the one Jay totally b*tched out during makeover? Where he's all "You're insulting Tyra!!!". I saw that on the commercial.

I think the elimination should have been the other way around. Even with Jaeda's new haricut her face does nothing for me.

Regarding the makeovers, I've said this every cycle. If I was one of those girls and a hairstylist, who probably charges $100 or even more, to do my hair for free I'd say GO AT IT! If you think my hair would look good purple, green and red do it. You're the expert.

Well, you didn't miss much w/ the makeover, but you can catch the rerun. Lots of complaining, mostly from the tall, masculine looking girl - prettiest in her school. The one they gave a pixie.

The goth girl, w/ the black hair who already HAD a pixie cut, complained about her hair not being dark enough. They went from jet black to brown on her, so wtf?

The twins - one of them was supposed to get fire engine red, but they both ended up w/ the same, ginger red.

What on earth was Miss Jay wearing at the judging? A waitress outfit? :p

He was just talking to all the girls that bitched and moaned about their hair. Like one of the girls was crying "cause ain't nobody seen her without her tracks!":lol:

Which one was that? Which girls bitched? They kept showing AJ right after he said that on the commercial, but it couldn't have been her b/c her hair is already hella short. :shrug:
