I will definately have to agree with you on a happy dog and sex and the city.
God how I love that show. My friend and I watched all seaons within a few months. After we were done, we decided on the last episode we would go have a cosmopolitan to celebrate. We had never had one and OH.MY.GAWD those things are nasty!!!

hayley 09-06-2006 01:49 PM

See, I could drink cosmopolitans like water.

Actually, I can drink any martini like water. Never mind.

sara1998 09-06-2006 02:11 PM

^^ I do drink martini's like water. Cosmo's are great, as are Lemondrop Martini's. I have all 6 seasons of Sex and the City. I haven't sat and watched them all yet.

DrummerDeanna 09-06-2006 02:19 PM

^^

DO IT!!

I am in the middle of Season 5 - it's taken me two weeks  I'm addicted - and am SO excited about this weekend and Season 6.

I'm in love with that show, no question.

I've never had a Cosmo - or a Martini for that matter

One complaint though - they eat the most fabulous looking food on that show - so sometimes it makes me hungry and bitter that I can't eat like that :o

As long as we're not talking about the sissy, fufu Martini's(with all kinds of juice and **** in them)- real Martini's are a DRINKER's drink! The club I work at had Martini Mondays, a couple years back. Man, they're pure alcohol. A couple Martini's, and I'd be HELLA buzzed.

I love them. Dirty martini w/ blue cheese olives. I believe I downed about nine of them at the last Christmas party. I also don't remember much of the last Christmas party.

Girly martinis will still kick your ass too. They're still much more concentrated than most regular cocktails.

I haven't seen the last ep yet!! This weekend

I have seen a few eps here and there through the years - but the weekend of August 19th I was in Albuquerque for my sister's birthday - she got all sorts of SATC booty: the trivia game, book etc - so I finally asked her to lend me some seasons. She actually parted with seasons 1-4 - I'm on my own for 5 and 6. I rented 5 but am absolutely freaked out because Season 6 wasn't in and I'm so worried that it'll still be rented when I need it.

If that's my biggest worry then my life is fabulous

Miranda is my favorite too - although Samantha CRACKS me up. I love her. But I totally relate the most to Miranda.

JazmenFlowers 09-06-2006 05:09 PM

Sex and the City gives me goosies everytime I watch it. I freaking love that damn show...have seen every episode at least 3 times.

other favorite things: Maker's Mark

i love samantha too. to me, she represents the free spirit we all try to repress. charlotte is just too goody-goody for me, and i think carrie is too much of an everywoman for me to REALLY relate to. i truly enjoyed every season of that show ... there were no bad episodes, in my opinion. so what part of season 5 are you at?

Samantha, followed very, very closely by Carrie.

I identify most with Samantha, but Carrie is more of my inner self. make sense?

DrummerDeanna 09-06-2006 05:23 PM

I just watched the episode in Atlantic City - Charlotte's 36th birthday - or 35th the sequel ;)

Some of the episodes have given me goosebumps too - I've laughed, I've cried...I'm in love

The Miranda abortion episode was intense...though I'd already seen an ep w/ a baby - so I knew she wasn't going to to go through with it. But still.

OOoooh I can't wait to get home and watch the rest of season 5. Cross your fingers that Season 6 (both parts) will be in when I go to rent it!!!

That's very true -and as much as I love Samantha's character I also know that in real life I probably wouldn't be able to handle her. ALthough I do have a male friend who I'm certain has slept with every available (and some not) men in the DC metro area  Maybe I can handle some slut in my life ;)

Charlotte is way too much for me to handle sometimes - but I love what she brings to the ensemble. My favorite Charlotte moment is when Samantha says something to the effect of "The guy I'm seeing has the funkiest tasting spunk" and Charlotte just wordlessly gets up and walks out. I died.

don't you hate when that happens.

reminds me of last night's Nip Tuck where the mother tells the daughter "I was sucking d*ck when you were still sucking a pacifier"

No way. Charlotte. Elizabeth Taylor. E! True Hollywood Story. I can't even handle that episode. When she picks herself up and goes out... I get chills just thinking about it.

My main problem with the show has always been my sheer hatred of Carrie. She drives me nuts.

oh, 4 tru. good point.

I think you either like Carrie or you don't. I think her character is well-written, but I totally see why she annoys some.

DrummerDeanna 09-06-2006 05:39 PM

 I LOVE Carrie -and I love when she screams - it kills me. Moments like the dogs in LA, the Squirell and the wind lifting her dress up - her little scream

michelle2677 09-07-2006 02:28 PM

what happened on charlotte's 36 b-day?? I can't remember it's been so long. I agree on the Elizabeth taylor E true hollywood story. And also the episode where samantha cries finally. OMG. that episode tore me up. It could be the 36 b day but I don't remember.

on edit: carrie is my favorite, if not only for her hair.

but I would love her if she was bald. I just wish I could get away with wearing an evening gown with my black bra showing. Trashy yes. But I think she's just cool as hell.

The 36th Birthday was the one in Atlantic City - where Charlotte, first of all, is wearing the ugliest outfit...and Miranda gives her an Old Maid card game

And Samantha finally just leaves Richard...after running up many flights in the pearl thong ;)

I finished Season 5 last night - the Sharper Image episode...Oh. My. God. I died.

Now on the the last season..I'm so excited....yet sad that I'm almost done :o

michelle2677 09-07-2006 02:36 PM

I know. I was so sad when I finished too. It really drags you in. and I was like you-I never watched it when it was on HBO so I was a late s&tc bloomer. ha ha....

well.....I'm not meaning to give anything away...I just don't know when it happens..(seriously sorry if I do) but has miranda's mom died yet?? THAT is the one that I CRIED on. and when charlotte loses the baby. When carrie goes to see her and the look on her face. I died.

I think the one I laughed the most on was the fart episisode.

and when it was sailor's week or whatever and the guy said he didn't like new york. Carrie said.."new york is my soul mate (or something) and nobody messes with my boyfriend!" so cute

DrummerDeanna 09-07-2006 02:40 PM

^^

Yeah I already got through the Miranda's mom dying episode - that's the one where Samantha loses her orgasm and then finally cries...:o That was a really good episode...

I also liked the fart episode -that cracked me up - partly because that was sort of a long-running joke in my ex and mine's relationship

And I still chuckle to myself at Samantha calling Miranda's baby an asshole

Oh and really good news - I went to rent Season 6 this morning - they had Season 6 part1 - all of it - AND I got it free because the woman ringing me out took forever, then took a phone call, then left the counter...and I guess I have a good pissed off face - because she gave me the rentals for free as an apology :D

michelle2677 09-07-2006 02:44 PM

omg I don't remember samantha calling brady an asshole *L* that is so damn funny

oh, when we watched the fart episode, I rewound it like 20 times. The look on big's face and then HER. OMG...I would do the same thing. Escape asap.

I have a story like that too sort of. Long story and way too embarrassing to post on the ledge. It was bad enough the first time.

michelle2677 09-07-2006 02:50 PM

another episode I LOVE is when she goes to the hotel to work while she was dating aidan. Big was married and met her in the bar. They were talking and then she left and said something like "go back to your white bedroom" or something like that.

But then they had awesome sex. I love that episode.

"that's a cute top" lol...could they have found a weirder looking dog ??

Ok - I'm bordering on obsessed here...

sexy

and I love men with big noses.

DrummerDeanna 09-07-2006 03:11 PM

^^

OMG! Me too! I've never met anyone else who admits that  My first big crush - everyone used to make fun of me because he had a big nose- but Good God...I just adored him lol.

michelle2677 09-07-2006 03:23 PM

ha ha!!! I know!! After teeth, that's the second thing I look at. Lindsey has a semi-large nose too and it's just perfect!!! I don't want some guy with a little girly button nose. oh Hell NO!!

I think you see the name on her cell in the last ep. Not going to give it away. He is so sexy. But he's such a f*cking creep on the show! I half like/half hate him. Which I guess means in real life I'd probly be all over him. Although that would be hard right now since I'm off men.

Oh I already spoiled that for myself - early in my viewing it was driving me nuts that you didn't know Big's name - so I went on a search, and found it out :D BUT I didn't spoil anything else...so don't tell me what happens!!!

He was a big ass at the beginning - but season 4 and 5 you see more of Big and a different side and I am so into his character...he's just sooo sexy too. Grr.. Iwant to go home now and finish watching
