Pat Benatar

Do we have any Benatar fans out here? I love her and her husband Neil Giraldo, is such a great guitarist. I'm going to see her at BPAC and HOB Atlantic City in March. I scored 3rd row for BPAC. That means great pics and vids for you guys:D How is she in concert? I was going to see her in June at Hammerstein Ballroom but Stevie was at the Garden that night.

She just played here...

this past Friday night at the Riverwinds Casino, From all reports I've heard/read is that she still puts on one helluva show.

I would liked to have seen her show, but I dont particularly care for the Casino environment for a show.

the Riverwind is a brand new Casino (Grand Opening was August 10th), but I never cared for gambling or the whole casino aspect.

The Riverwind is having major concerts, the next is Jewel, but most of the shows appearring are from people/artists whose prime was years in the past (bka Nostalgic acts).

i love me some pat benatar, she is playing our state fair this yr~

skcin 08-28-2006 12:13 PM

She's been here twice in recent years, I've missed her both times. :( Love Pat, that bitch can rock.

One of the shows was at "Thursday in the Square" which is a free concert in downtown Buffalo every Thursday throughout the summer. Sometimes it's local, or lesser known bands. Sometimes it's national headliners (Pat, Blues Traveler, India.Arie...) Pat's was one of the most popular, it was beyond crowded - I think it may hold the record for attendance. Most people couldn't even get a glimpse of her, it was so packed.

.

I love that song, with Hit me with.., Fire on Ice, and Treat me right!

I LOVED Pat during the 80s, but this is weird. When I listen to her now, it's not the same. I get tired of her rhythm after few songs, though I can listen a whole album of Police, Thompson Twins or other 80s bands. Don't know why.

You can have Pat as long as I get first dibs on Cristina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil (That is as long as my Mrs. gets Keith Urban in return):

UnwindedDreams 08-28-2006 05:27 PM

I love Pat, but for some reason I really hate "Hit Me With Your Best Shot". Probably because my 8th grade gym teacher played it all the time when we ran the mile. :distress:

goldustsongbird 08-28-2006 05:50 PM

She's okay. I don't know a lot of her stuff, past the 80s, although I know she's put out albums since then. Apparently she has quite a range? I always thought she had a pretty good voice.

MacMan 08-28-2006 07:01 PM

Anyone see the commercial she's in. I just saw it last night - she's singing one of her old songs (can't recall which), but some young blonde comes bouncing out to sing with her. I don't recall what they were flogging either, but it was kind of good I suppose, for a commercial.

kirst1126 08-28-2006 07:15 PM

I saw Pat twice this summer I picked up her greatest hits cd last year and have gotten really into her... I kindof feel like im cheating on stevie when I listen, but whatever Pat is AWESOME. SHe is so personable and funny in concert... she said at the shows I went to that she HATES playing hit me and heartbreaker, but the audience would kill her if hse didnt play them so she like makes this face like she hates her life while shes singing- and her husband neil, he is so good looking in person. They are so cute together... on this tour they did this acoustic version of we live for love and it was amazing, same with we belong. my personal favorite is shadows of the night... and she opened with all fired up... she comes out dancing and grooving, its really different from stevie or fleetwood mac shows. i would highly recommend going to see her if you haevnt!!!!! and before she was a pop singer or whatever hse was trying to be an opera singer, so shes highly trained to be one, I dont know the terrm for that, professionally trained? wahtever, she can hit the highest notes and so casually. ahhh love her!!

I'm pretty sure she's singing Heartbreaker. As for the product, your guess is as good as mine.

With that Cheyenne girl for Kohl's...

Absolutely LOVE Pat Benatar. I've pretty much grown up with her music, as my mom loved her too and so she'd play her stuff all the time. I think she still has "Crimes Of Passion" and "Precious Time" somewhere around here on vinyl, but I digress.

She was here about 4 years ago at the state fair, and I wanted to go so bad but I had no one to go with (except my mom, who wouldn't go on a Wednesday night. go figure). I'm still kicking myself over that one.
