If you ever registered an address at FleetwoodMac.com, then you're on their list. It's all one big machine.

Awesome!!

So, that is the cover of the album?! Gorgeous!! I love it!!

AlanCofer 08-24-2006 12:04 AM

tracklisting

Great cover but where the hell is the tracklisting? It's only 6 weeks till the release!

I'm sorry but I have been waiting FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:] :] :]

dontlookdown 08-24-2006 01:45 AM

i heard someone from KCRW talk about the record.

they said it has more in common with Wilco and Radiohead then it does with
Fleetwood Mac.

that's all good news to me.

i have a feeling it will be a subcutaneous album.

face of glass 08-24-2006 02:14 AM

At least the cover screams "OLDER ARTIST" all over. Which is what he is, no? No need for him to go for Savillesque graphics at this point in his career. :D

nichora 08-24-2006 03:16 AM

2 brand new songs!?

Doh! Its shut us down and someones gotta change your mind!

Oh well.. Still waiting...:distress:

Well that is just what I hope for. An album that AGAIN shows his artistry and need to do it different than commonly expected. When it touches Wilco I'll be extatic.

MacMan 08-24-2006 09:07 AM

I got the email too. Nice cover! I'm really looking forward to this and really curious as to what its going to sound like accoustic wise.

Well I knew we'd be getting some GOS stuff and I'd guess SUD would be on it as well, but I can't wait to see the rest of the track listing! I hope there are a few songs on it that we haven't seen before. I'm guessing there will be.

And more like Radiohead? I don't know if I'm too keen on that. I hope it's more like SGCYM and SUD, especially SGCYM.

Oh, and I like the cover. Very tastefulk and mature IMO

Nico 08-24-2006 09:50 AM

I'm so excited right now. I love Shut Us Down and SGCYM to death. Lindsey's album cover looks so Adult Contemporary to me for some reason. It's all good.

UnwindedDreams 08-24-2006 10:09 AM

I love the cover...it's a great shot...and I love SGCYM...it should be the opening track on the cd...

Couldn't agree more. This album will be great, after all he took his time

LOVE the cover....

I'm excited about this release...

It does look that way, it looks somewhat uninspired to me but who cares, all that matters is what's on the disc

DESTINYRU!ES 08-24-2006 12:16 PM

it looks somewhat uninspired

I agree. When I saw that this was the cover image I was a bit miffed. I mean I like arty photos but this has a yellow cast for what reason?Maybe to inform us that "under the skin" lindsey is jaundice? If you need a liver lindsey, look no further. Seriously, I wanna know why he consented to being yellow and which photographer is responsible for this blasphmy:shrug:

But in the end, it's only the music that matters.

LINDSEY#1FAN 08-24-2006 12:22 PM

Well, I think the cover looks great!

Lindsey looks good to me!! Yummy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:xoxo:

Let's not forget that Mrs. Kristin Buckingham is a photographer (that's how they met, remember?)...I'll bet she took the photo.

I think that too. And don't forget: we can't judge the quality of that pic, esp the coloring, on a scan and this is screenquality too.

chiliD 08-24-2006 12:30 PM

I think the cover is great. I was fearing that it would another album cover of Lindsey holding his Turner M1. (I wasn't much of a fan of the OotC cover, but the album itself is a masterpiece).

DESTINYRU!ES 08-24-2006 12:36 PM

He's the same color as the wall. Regardless of the quailty or manner the photo was uploaded to the web, the photo is suffering from a color balance issue. The noise in the shadows isn't holding up well either which shows this was not so well taken with a digital camera in low light. Someone should inform the photographer of the white balance options on the camera. I like the expression just not the composition or balance.

NOt trying to start anything, but this goes hand in hand with my own profession and I just can't beleive what people pass off as photography anymore.

Again, its all about the music anyway.

Not only that, but from what I can see, they have taken every single line out of his forehead, elongated the fake shadow under his chin, and ledt huge bags under his eyes. So, I agree the photo is odd, but I like the pose, etc. Having said that, the worst EVER was CM's pic for "In the Meantime"

No wonder Lindsey's been waiting 14 years to release a new album:

All anyone here wants to do is criticize him. I'd become a recluse, too, if my fans talked that way about me--if they tore apart every little detail. What a strange community of people, who seem to think they could improve everything Lindsey does, yet they can't get enough of him.

If you're reading this, the cover is great, Lindsey. It seems to capture a certain mood that I look forward to hearing soon--even if I already know most of the songs, I am just pleased to know that you are musically happy and able to put forward what you think is your very best work.

I don't think Lindsey would give four rats farts about a few fans critiquing his CD cover. And I think he'd be glad to know people are thinking about and studying the intricacies of his work so much that they can go into detail about their opinions. I would think Linds wouldn't care to have unthinking, slavish, blindly adoring fans who don't have any kind of discerning musical ear. I'm pretty sure of it, actually. People do that because they like, and buy, his music. Just what he would want, I think.
You, however, are free to be slavish, blindly adoring, and without a discerning musical ear if you wish.
P.S. I like the cover, because Lindsey is hot, and that look on his face is classic pretentious, overthinking, moody Lindsey. The Lindsey I love.

Well, it's my profession too and I think this picture is gorgeous. Whitebalance kills the atmosfhere in coloring 80 percent of the time. OK. Technically you can say alot of negative things here, but atmosphericly it's spot on. Well, I think I look at pictures the same way as I listen to music. It's about the quality of how it communicates, not about the quality of how it is made.

It could very well just be a promo pic, who knows yet. Anyway aside from whether or not they should have removed the noise or brightened up the shot or not, it kind of reminds me of the Don Henley cd cover for Inside Job - dark colour wise and seriousness.

People, people, no one needs to justify their opinion against another's as each is entitled to his/her own opinion. First and formost, I said that my critique of the cd cover had no baring on the music and that it was the most important after all. I'm not going to get into it over the astetics of the photo. But don't ripe me a new a#$ &o)@ for an opinion to which each of us is entitled to make. I didn't attack your opinion, I only clarified my own. You are on the defensive not me. No need to lambast people into your own thinking. If it works for you that's what counts

stefan 08-24-2006 03:55 PM

I like the photo.
But what about that myspace site? How did the guy running this site get this new photo? How can someone use LB's name for that? How did you discover, that it is not official (except for that he has an official website he could use for promo like that)
