Lets Talk About Cyndi....
I feel a new obsession coming on....
The songs "Who Let in the Rain" (Thanks Carrie for the recommendation) and "I Drove All Night" are on the top of my playlist at the moment, but of course I love the classics like "True Colours" "Who Let in the Rain" "Time After Time" etc.... Lets talk Cyndi fans :D |

actually, "above the clouds" is my ringtone. :o so, which albums of hers do you have? |
I only have 12 Deadly Cyns but I have to say it's one of my all-time favorite albums.
I bought it in 1998 - only knowing Time after Time and GJWHF. I was blown away that she has other stuff beyond that that doesn't suck  I have always meant go get more of her stuff...but havent  In 1998 or possibly 1999 my sister and her husbadn went to see David Letterman in NYC _ Cyndi was the guest that night and I was SO jealous..still am. |

Yes, you did send me "Body Acoustic" but I forgot about it, and it expired :( Quote:
My ringtone is Blondie - Good Boys  Quote:

and yes, you should be filled with shame for having a soft spot for celine's techno/dance bastardization of such a great song. |

Although I would recommend Celine's version *ducks for cover* |
Quote:
NOOOOO! I heard Celine's after Cyndi's and remember thinking, "what the hell is this..who ruined this song!?!" *don't hit me* Then some country group did it...even worse. I'll stick with Cyndi's version  |

Oh right. It's like the Ani DiFranco requirement to be a Lesbian. I've already been shunned from lesbianland because I HATE Ani. Oh well  Anyway - Elton John also has a reference to a pirate smile in Tiny Dancer. Is it just a quality some smiles have? I just don't know and it's always driven me nuts. |

Yay Cyndi! Have you listened to all of HFOS yet? I think it's one of those albums that people, mostly those who aren't/weren't major followers either love or hate. I love it because... well, duh, it's Cyn. But I like that it was the perfect departure for her from the 80's into the 90's. Too bad a lot of people fail to recognize it. :\
BTW, if you're interested - I just got this yesterday, its her appearance on Leno in 1993. She sings Who Let in the Rain and That's What I think and talks a bit in between. She's so cute! http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FQN4Z8QX |
I saw her 3 times...

I only have Essential & Body Acoustic and the At Last Live DVD, but I really must get more. I f*cking love me some Cyndi. "I Drove All Night" and "Change of Heart" are my most loved tunes.
I saw her summer 2004 (2005? Damn, can't recall) at the UB Center for Performing Arts. Small venue, incredible performance. I'd love to see her again, hoping she adds more dates. |

Hot. Yeah, get more, definitely!! I love the At Last DVD. A lot of the songs from the At Last CD sound better done live... Despite high sales, a lot of people who reviewed it got really nasty about her and the vocal work. I didn't think it was bad (if anything, I thought it would, at the time, open everyone's eyes to her true talent!); it just isn't my favourite CD of hers. |
