Cranberry Lake pics

Just got back from camping (in our new pop up trailer  ) at Cranberry Lake State Park in the Adirondack Mountains. What a gorgeous place. The campground itself was really nice (private sites, clean bathrooms, hot showers) and there was tons of stuff to see & do. Hiked up 2 mountains & checked out 7 waterfalls along an 8 mile stretch of the Grasse River. I want to go back. Like, this weekend.

Yup. :D I'm a loser:

Dammit, hang on. Stupid photobucket won't resize some of the pics....

skcin 08-14-2006 09:10 PM

Let's try this again.

So clear it looked fake:

Why, oh why, does photobucket blow so hard? It's resizing some, not others. grrrr......

Hubby & nieces on a log - I'm not that adventurous - plus I'm uncoordinated & have no balance:

Wow. I am now KICKING myself for not getting to the Adirondaks while in NY

GODDESS6 08-14-2006 10:27 PM

gorgeous paula!!! ~

amber 08-14-2006 11:08 PM

Um...okay. Those are gorgeous, but I'm freaking out, because they look exactly like my pics from my camping trip that went from last Thurs until yesterday.
What a great place. I never wanted to leave mine, either. We were plotting about eating fish and the local plants and just living there.
But seriously, I even have a waterfall pic like yours. And then, we stayed at the lake, but on the way home we stopped by these other grounds on this river that my friend often stays and fishes at. So I have lake and river pics, just like you.
Paula, will you and your pop trailer marry me???

You got some really cool shots, like the one on the tree, and the high mountain one.

Your son is cute...

Lala 08-15-2006 12:49 AM

Awesome pictures! Yay for making the boys cook. That was my whole outlook when I was camping.

Next time, you might have less problems with tinypic.com. You don't need an account or anything either.

ragandbone 08-15-2006 01:07 AM

I always wanted one of those trailers!
It looks beautiful there. I had a chance to go to a wedding in the Adirondack mtns., but I decided I didn't want to take the flight with my son. I should have gone.
This last weekend, I fake-camped, which means I drove 8 minutes a way to the campground in the redwoods here, where some friends were staying. I brought them water, used their fire, drank some beer, and then came home to my bed.

Too bad your trip to California will be so short, there are some amazing camp spots here (in all directions) and beer is available.

xxxmx 08-15-2006 05:31 AM

upstaaaaaaaaate! great photos, paula... super even, because i saw a sliver of a labatt blue can peeping out of your coozie ;)

Pop-up wins over dirt...

Paula, Paula, Paula

Well, as long as you insist on camping. ..that definately looks like the way to go  Has to be better than sleeping on the ground!

You know me, my idea of camping is...( reaching over the bed from some luxiourious Hotel, grabbing the phone and asking..."Ya, room service?) But enough about me!

Stunning pictures, looks like a lovely and lush area (see, we can be somewhat thankful for all the rain we have been getting this summer)
What a beautiful lake and forest...Looks so peaceful. I especially like the pic of the 4 of you looking out over the mountain...
Great pics, as usual! I am so glad you guys had a good time!!
~~eclipse~~

JazmenFlowers 08-15-2006 08:47 AM

damnit. I'm so jealous of you and Amber right now. y'all are both bringing out the country boy in me. but there's nothing this gorgeous anywhere near here. but damn it looks like you had a blast. I love your camping/vacay pics...it's so much fun to see y'all having such a good time.

I'm loving the waterfall pics the most...nature is amazing.

skcin 08-15-2006 09:45 AM

Thanks you guys. :xoxo: I have more, I'll try to get them up if I have time & ya'll care to see.

Amber - I said the same thing in your thread before I read your post here. Maybe we should get married, it's painfully obvious that we're soul mates.

And my husband is hot, isn't he? :D Still gets proofed buying beer, as a matter of fact. Too bad he'll always be older than I am.

BTFLCHLD 08-15-2006 10:31 AM

Really nice pics Paula...thanks for sharing your trip.

SuzeQuze 08-15-2006 10:58 AM

I love these, Paula. Your camping trips always look so fun. We had a pop up trailer when I was a girl and it was actually really comfortable. The best part about them was they never got too hot because of all the canvas and windows, unlike a regular trailer. Of course nowadays trailers are all equipped with AC.

Don't worry Deanna, you can always come and visit sometime. Also, girl, now you have The Rockies, hello?!!? :D

macfanken 08-15-2006 11:07 AM

Beautiful pictures... it looks so peaceful and relaxing... and I don't see anything wrong with going again this weekend!

I'm currently packing for a trip to the Oregon coast, it'll be so nice to get away from the city. I won't have internet or tv for five days... just a book and my camera. woohoo!

I would love to go to Oregon. Don't know if I'll ever get there - is there a way to go across the country to a state you've never been and NOT visit a disliked family member who lives there?

Mark's camoflauged - see if you can spot him, like Waldo. And what's with the bundt pan-shaped foam floating in the water toward the bottom?

I know! they are funny names. I have been thinking of naming Butt Lake something very naughty...begins with b, has 3 k's in it and ends in e.

No cottage. Decided it was to much to take on right now. Plus, this way we can travel to several different places & decide the perfect place for a cottge in the future.

bikerchic 08-16-2006 10:25 AM

Great pics! Are you ever "not" on holidays? :p

Yes, it's apparent I know too much for my own good. Thanks, Howard Stern! :p

BTW- you think that's bad, you should have been here when the perv thread was around (or was it titled something else & got hijacked...)

is it still readable or has it been deleted?

At the risk of turning my beautiful, serene, realxing camping thread into a cesspool of smut, here ya go:

http://www.ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/sh...ighlight=pervs

Warning: Not for the underage, prudish, or squeamish. Oh, and it's 50something pages long. :wavey:

DrummerDeanna 08-17-2006 03:09 PM

Oh good god did I get an education from that perv thread *shudder*. I'm afraid to open the link to the def. of bukkake or whatever..is it suitable to be read while at work?
