Rant

I am stuck in MOTHER FUKCING Hunt Valley, MD (north of Baltimore) in a NASTY a$$ Embassy Suites at some idiotic convention. My room has mold on the ceiling and bugs - NICE

So, rather than even contemplate the cleanliness of room service (if this fukcing fleabag place has that) I just ordered a pizza and polished the whole sucker off.

Few things are worse than a dirty hotel. Yuck yuck yuck. That sucks!!!! Hope you enjoyed the pizza - that's probably what I'd do, too.

amber 07-31-2006 11:18 PM

That sounded really bad, until you got to the part about the Pizza (proper noun).

Seriously - yuck. Bugs are gross, so is mold, there is no disputing that. :xoxo:
Here's to a speedy departure! *clink*.

What size was the pizza? What kind? I can't believe you at the whole thing! What fortitude and perseverence.

strandinthewind 07-31-2006 11:19 PM

Of course, I took 6 Chitosen an hour before eating the ZA.

I have to be here until Thursday, which fukcing sucks a$$.

But, hey at least there is a mall with - hold on - Sears AND Walmart across the street

Actually, it also has a DSW, so there is some light there.

Red 07-31-2006 11:46 PM

C'mon STrandie, indulge us...what were your toppings of choice? And can you at least rent movies?

johndoe 07-31-2006 11:55 PM

I stayed in a hotel in Alexandria,Virginia, and turns out it was infested with roaches at the time we were there. Not to mention dust mites on the bed. Great.

irishgrl 08-01-2006 07:25 AM

Strandie: hie thyself over to Wallyworld and buy a tarp. (thats for the bed)

and at Sears, you must pick up a power sprayer w/bug killer (thats for the bugs) Oh and a jigsaw to cut yer Pizza with.

Voila! yer all set!

JazmenFlowers 08-01-2006 08:43 AM

be careful...not only is all that gross and icky icky poo poo, but it's dangerous...especially the mold.

BTFLCHLD 08-01-2006 09:22 AM

Poor baby...are there no other hotels in that town or are you staying at the best one?

strandinthewind 08-01-2006 09:32 AM

They are all full up. Oh well, I bought a can of Lysol and intend on drinking lots of booze, which will kill any bug that bites me or any mold I inhale - and lord knows I have had worse in my lungs

Oh - the pizza was pep. and green peppers.

Oh well, maybe I can change rooms today.

DrummerDeanna 08-01-2006 10:47 AM

Yuck yuck yuck. I feel your pain - as I traveled from New York to Colorado we stayed in four hotels (not cheap places either) and EVERY ROOM smelled all mildewy and nasty - are hotels just not cleaning properly anymore???

Bugs though? You're on your own - that's just horrid. Good luck to ya!

skcin 08-01-2006 11:57 AM

Ah yes, the gross hotel room. I'm quite familiar. One was in D.C, but thank God there was a Courtyard by Marriott right across the street & we went there. Your story just proves my "pizza makes everything better" theory.

Remember the pics of that classy Ramada me & Curtis stayed at last year? Think of us in our pink hoodies to cheer you up, hon. Oh, and I'm sure you'll get a much better room when you meet up with us in Berkeley. ;)

irishgrl 08-01-2006 01:02 PM

JASON! You're coming to Berzerkley? OMG! you'll only be a mere 2.5 hrs away!! oh you MUST come and serenade me with your rendition of whatever it is you rend! you simply MUST!:nod: :xoxo:

strandinthewind 08-01-2006 02:45 PM

Sadly, I am not going to Berkley  I have to much work to do, etc. But, if I were there, I would show up with a strategically placed daisy and sing "THERE'S A BRIGHT GOLDEN . . . . . "

and Pauls - yes, I though last night of the hoodie hovel.

I just can't picture you in squalid lodgings.

BEEEYOTCCHHH!!!!!!!

Actually, it is better today as the remaining bugs all congregated by the vent with all the mold and they died stuck to the ceiling

Yeah, sure, Georgia - I wouldn't be seeing any of these bitches if the show wasn't right by my house.

I predict you'll do all the pretrial prep, and at the last minute they will settle, thus freeing you to fly out here. My teacher said it happens all the time! So I'll include you in the reservation...:D

I'm genuinely disgusted with the fact that you would even entertain staying in such a digusting hovel as you've described.

JEEZUS!!!!!

What kind of damage are you doing to The Snobs of the Universe?!??!?

I demand recompense.

I think having you as my sexual slave for a weekend wouldst fulfill the punishment.... ;)

strandinthewind 08-02-2006 09:36 AM

Remuneration is a specialty of mine dear!

Also - good thing I have been doing like 200 lunges a week and lots of squats - I wouldn't want to disappoint :wavey:

Back to the topic though - the manager of the hotel was WAY drunk in the bar last night and he unloaded on how this hotel sucks. We were all like "WE AGREE"

Finally, I adore you!

I wonder if the quality of lodging has just gotten worse or if my standards have been rising as I get older. Don't even get me started on Hawaii. I paid 4 1/2 - 5 star money for a 2 1/2 star hotel. And what is it with complacent tourists and their adoration of ****ty "luaus"? The common man has no sense of luxury. Bleh. I was meant to be European Old Money.

I hear that. I see "luxury" apartments advertised around here and I think, "those are basic amenities!"

That is why you are soft, my fine flabb-ed friend.

JazmenFlowers 08-02-2006 05:36 PM

I meant to ask, if it's not too personal, why the hell you're there anyway? a deposition or something?
