Ocean/Bay pictures

These are from Ocean Beach in SF. We later drank at the Castro, which I've never done, and finally I realized where the fun SF neighborhood was.

Here's me "testing my camera" while laying on the beach. My bangs are usually straightened and more hip, but the moisture curled them right up.

These ones are all from today taken from the very, very, very long pier at the Berkeley Marina. It's pretty awesome.

I was wondering that myself. No, I thought your vacay pics were awesome. I guess they're not from Ohio, though?

Oh, I'm "dating" someone. I thought everyone knew. You know, my best friend's half brother? :D He lives in Chico, came down for the weekend because it's 500 degrees in Chico. And for other reasons. He's BBQing us some pork chops as I speak. :wavey:
Is that enough info?

Oh we knew, we just want pics so we can check out the competition! Also, what are the young man's intentions? Will he get you back home before curfew? I think he should meet the other ledgies before this goes any further! Are you old enough to "date" young lady? and where is the chaperone's shadow?

Nice pics, i love Ocean Beach in SF. One thing i really like about SF is that you are a few minutes to a beach on the open ocean, I love looking out and seeing nothing but water. There a lots of beaches here and water everywhere but you have to drive 2 or 3 hours to get to the open ocean. Is it miserably hot down there? It was 99 here again today... but you probably like the heat.

No. It was hot for here, but at the marina it was cool. Probably...89 degrees? It's weird, the Berkeley Marina was actually cooler today than SF ocean beach was yesterday.

Nice pics Amber. Looks a great place.

I think its hot everywhere right now. Its still sweltering over here too.

I especially like this one:

I admire those people out there kayaking in that current. The people on the boat look like they are having a great time.

SuzeQuze 07-24-2006 10:23 AM

It's so beautiful there and you look great!

amber 07-24-2006 02:54 PM

Thanks, Suze!
Yeah, Gldstwmn - all the people going by on the boats, every time we were all "That's our boat. No, that's our boat. Ooo, wait, I want that boat".
And the kayaking didn't look too scary. It's only 15 dollars an hour to rent kayaks there, so we're going to do that next time. But it's the same price also to rent small sailboats and...windsurfing boards. I didn't take any pics of them, but the windsurfing looked the most fun of all.
It was nice and cool on the pier.

I think windsurfing would be a blast. I'd feel safer doing that than kayaking because my legs wouldn't be stuck in the kayak.

 I didn't think of that. But windsurfing is actually a bit difficult to learn to do, whereas kayaking, you just row....I want to learn to windsurf, but it's kind of scary because when your sail goes down, you just fall into the water....we watched a guy trying to get back up on his board and get his sail up for like, five minutes. When I was little, I remember i rode on my uncle's board when he was windsurfing in the Delta, and it was the most fun thing ever.
There's an inlet of water kind of behind the Marina that is calm, like a small lake part of the bay more away from the wind, and people were kayaking and windsurfing in there and it wasn't scary. That's probably where we'll start.

No, because I don't. And I mean, I really don't. Really.

After that, we went out in the Castro, and I was soooo embarrassed about my curlybang. It was worse because I just trimmed them a couple days ago, so they were all short. I'm sure all the gay boys were thinking "look at that girls lame-o curlbang!"

Okay so you don't even see a slight resemblance? I mean, ignore the crazy Ani hair and facial piercings...you have the same facial alignment, kinda the same nose, but yours is smaller and totally the same mouth. That's a compliment, by the way, you ass!!!

And don't even get me started on the curly bangs! I distinctly remember instructing you to put down the scissors!

The bangs are totally cute at most times, so you were wrong - you just happened to be right this one day.

The only resemblance I can discern is that me and Ani both have faces....
our coloring is way different, too, so that makes it less than the none it already is...

I doubt it, gay boys in the Castro are too busy worrying about their own looks and criticizing other gay boys. I went to Ocean Beach over the weekend also.

Where'd you go in the Castro?

Rickypt 07-24-2006 09:40 PM

Whoops, why does it say quoted by Red when I was quoting amber above?

I know, I was totally kidding. That was the thing, why would they look at me??

It was saturday, everywhere was really crowded...which was unfortunate b/c I wanted to get a look at more of the bars.
We had a couple drinks in the glass coffin (I forgot the name, it's right on the corner with the large glass windows and old guys go there, old fashioned inside with an upstairs)
And we went to a place that I think just had a big red neon sign that said "BAR". It had red lighting inside, a small front smoking patio, and the tables inside were free standing (hanging from the ceiling) and circular.
Before that we ate at a mexican place with outside tables - tiny place, everything made fresh, super yummy.

Twin Peaks Bar. It's one of the best and oldest bars in the Castro. And sounds like BAR on Castro was the other one.

I can take you and your friends on a tour of the watering holes on a slow night sometime if you want.

Yes, that's right. I figured the place was called "BAR", but wasn't sure. I was sad Twin Peaks was the only bar we could fit into. Well, there was one other, a big airy bar with high round tables, dark, big streetside windows, also on a corner. It looked like a restaurant, but I don't think it was. However - even though it looked all quiet and nice, and everyone was sitting calmly at tables, they still had "nzzt nzzt nzzt nzzt" music playing really loud. It was odd. That's a great thing about the White Horse, the dance floor is a completely separate room. So they can have "nzzzt" in that room, while those who want to talk don't have to hear it very loud.
A tour? from what I could tell, they are all "right there". Also, "friends"? I was with my boyfriend. I don't have friends here, but I might have friend, but I'd love to go for a tour on a slow night. :xoxo:
Anyway, that is my favorite area for going out that I have seen so far in SF.

That sounds like Harvey's, which is a restaurant and bar. And very loud, like you said.

I must've misread, I thought you went out with friends plural. And by tour, I meant giving a little history on the various bars, like the BAR on Castro used to be the Castro Station (lovingly referred to as the Castration) and was a dive for speed freaks and alcoholics to play pinball and watch movies during the day. So, a fascinating education kind of tour like that.
