Stevie Nicks will continue to perform several songs with Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers on the remainder of the tour. So fans will get a chance to see a live performance of the hit 1981 duet between Nicks and Petty, "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around," along with other favorites.

Three of the shows on the tour's third leg will go on sale next week.

Highway Companions Club members will be invited to participate in special ticket presales for most shows. Due to the late announcement of these tour dates, and our continued success in battling scalpers, we have increased fan club presale ticket limits. Members may now buy up to six presale tickets for the 2006 tour, with a limit of two tickets for any one show.

Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers will play the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Sept. 26. Highway Companions Club members can buy tickets in an exclusive presale on Tuesday, July 11, beginning at 10 a.m. PT. A local radio-sponsored presale, which is open to anyone who visits TomPetty.com, starts Friday, July 14, at 10 a.m. PT, and tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. PT on Sunday, July 16.

A pair of shows at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, Calif., will also go on sale to the general public on Sunday, July 16. The exclusive Highway Companions Club presale begins at 10 a.m. PT on Tuesday, July 11. The radio-sponsored presale begins on Friday, July 14, at 10 a.m. PT, and the public on-sale begins at 10 a.m. PT on Sunday, July 16.

In addition, event passes to the Austin City Limits Festival in Austin, Texas, where Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will appear on Sept. 17, are now available online. Event passes are good for all three days of the festival (Sept. 15 through Sept. 17).

New songs available on iTunes now
Two new songs from Tom Petty's new album, "Highway Companion," are now available at the iTunes Music Store. "Saving Grace" and "Big Weekend" can be purchased separately. "Highway Companion" will be in stores on July 25.

ABOUT HIGHWAY COMPANIONS CLUB PRESALES
We have reserved up to 1,500 premium seats from each show for Highway Companions Club presales. These tickets will be made available exclusively to club members on a first-come, first-served basis.

Members who purchase tickets in the presale will also receive Tom's new CD, "Highway Companion," free, courtesy of Ticketmaster.

Highway Companions Club members are limited to two tickets per show, and six total for the 2006 tour. In order to ensure tickets get into the hands of club members -- and not scalpers -- tickets are nontransferable and must be picked up at the venue's Will Call window on the night of the show. The credit card used to purchase the ticket and a government-approved ID will be required to claim the tickets.

We will offer the best seats that we can for our members during the presale, but we anticipate high demand for these premium tickets and we expect the presales in each market to sell out quickly. Club membership does not guarantee the ability to purchase tickets during the presale -- once the tickets are gone, we are sold out! However, club members will have the opportunity to purchase concert tickets again during the local radio presale and when they go on sale to the general public.

The annual fee for joining the fan club is $30.

In addition to the free CD and the opportunity to buy premium concert tickets early, members will also receive access to exclusive online benefits and other special features when the new TomPetty.com launches this summer, including:

Your own TomPetty.com e-mail address
Special offers from the TomPetty.com shop
Free streams, downloads and other members-only perks

SPECIAL TICKET PACKAGES -- CLUB MEMBERSHIP INCLUDED
Fans seeking the ultimate Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers experience may be interested in our Special Ticket Package, which puts you within the first 15 rows and includes the following perks:

Membership in the Highway Companions Club for one year
Custom commemorative tickets in honor of Tom Petty's 30th anniversary
A coupon good for $100 off any purchase from the Tom Petty online store
Access to a stream of Tom Petty's newest CD, "Highway Companion," two weeks prior to its release
Tom Petty's latest CD, "Highway Companion," mailed soon after its release

All tickets will be held at the box office Will Call for pickup by the purchaser. Picture ID required. No exchanges, name changes or refunds allowed.

LOCAL RADIO PRESALES
After the Highway Companions Club presales, all TomPetty.com visitors can purchase tickets via the traditional local radio station presales before tickets go on sale to the general public. Just listen to your local radio station for details and visit TomPetty.com for your presale password.

On the date of the presale, click the link below for the password and a link to buy tickets:

Great news! Will she be at the Los Angeles show I wonder? I'm about to pee my pants right now at the thought of seeing Stevie and Tom under the stars singing Insider at The Hollywood Bowl of all places, holy ****e! It's also 4 days before my 30th birthday, what a gift!

JazmenFlowers 07-06-2006 10:24 PM

that's awesome. means more good pics and boots. sadly though nowhere near me. :(

skcin 07-07-2006 08:40 AM

"On the remainder of the tour." Does that mean she'll be at all of those shows? I am seriously debating going out to visit my gay boyfriend in LA this fall - if she's coincidentally playing with Petty around the same time....

Amber - how far is LA from Berkley?

:D

I just went to tompetty.com & I can't find this announcement - did this go out to fanclub members only?

*does a cartwheel* Stevie might come to Austin for ACL??? :blob2:

"Remainder of the tour..." I'm wondering if that includes the late July/August dates, as well as the 3rd leg?? Or just the 3rd leg? Or just a few dates on the 3rd leg? I was thinking she may only do the west coast dates. I may have to road trip to Houston, if she ends up there!

I didn't get an email for this, but I've gotten them in the past...I was just over on the Tom board and a lot of other people didn't get the email either...despite this press release, the dates are still not up on tompetty.com. But the Strokes? That's kinda cool...and I wonder who may be opening for him at all the other shows??

I earned another free round trip on Southwest for my St. Louis trip...hmmmm....

sodascouts 07-07-2006 10:03 AM

PLEASE let her be at the Chicago show!!!!!

It's a beautiful drive from LA to San Fran. You could fly 1-way to LA, rent a car, fly home from SF.

gldstwmn 07-07-2006 11:13 AM

Phoenix in the fall? I think I will.

strandinthewind 07-07-2006 11:22 AM

Oh My - They are coming here!!!!!!!

Hopefully, they will play Chastain Park and I can sit on my friend's roof and watch it for free!!!

Friend lives in LA, so we could take his car. I'm sure the drive from LA to San Fran would be a tad bit nicer than the one we took from Buffalo to Atlantic City.

7/7/6 - TOM PETTY & THE HEARTBREAKERS ANNOUNCE LEG THREE OF THEIR 2006 U.S. CONCERT TREK

The Strokes, John Mayer and Frank Black Will Support on Selected Dates Stevie Nicks Returns to the Tour as Special "Surprise" Guest

Los Angeles, CA - July 7, 2006 -- With sold-out concerts - including New York's Madison Square Garden and the 80,000-strong Bonnaroo - house records set, and accolades like the Boston Globe's "one of the finest, most enduring outfits in rock'n'roll," Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers announce dates and support acts for Leg Three of their 2006 U.S. Summer Tour. The third leg, which includes headlining this year's Austin City Limits Festival and a return to the band's Gainesville, FL hometown, kicks off in Chicago on September 14 and will feature The Strokes on their first of several dates as support act. John Mayer and Frank Black will support on other selected dates.

The 'Highway Companion Tour,' which celebrates the band's 30th anniversary, has already featured a star-studded list of special guests and opening acts. Phish frontman Trey Anastasio opened the entire first leg and will be back on some Leg Two dates, and the Allman Brothers Band are also set to support on select second leg dates. In addition, Petty and the Heartbreakers have just completed an historic run of dates with Pearl Jam during which Eddie Vedder took the stage and sang lead with Tom and the Heartbreakers on "The Waiting" and "American Girl."

It is also announced that Stevie Nicks, who was a "surprise" guest on the first eight shows of the tour, will return in that capacity for Leg Two and Leg Three dates. Nicks will join Petty and the Heartbreakers during their set for a handful of songs, including the Petty/Nicks Number One hit, "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around."

Tickets for the Berkeley dates will go on sale July 16; all other shows go on sale July 22 except Raleigh, NC which will go on sale July 21. There will be presales for Highway Companion Club members.

Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers - Petty/vocals, guitars, Mike Campbell/guitars, Benmont Tench/keyboards, Ron Blair/bass, Scott Thurston/guitars, harmonica, backing vocals, and Steve Ferrone/drums - have just wrapped up Leg One of their summer sojourn that kicked off June 9; Leg Two is scheduled to run from July 30 to August 18. The complete itinerary is below.

On July 25, "Highway Companion," Petty’s third solo and 18th overall career disc, will be released (American Recordings/Warner Bros. Records). The album was produced by Jeff Lynne with Petty and Mike Campbell, and features twelve new Petty compositions. Lynne also produced the multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated Petty albums “Full Moon Fever” (1989) and “Into the Great Wide Open” (1991) (Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers). The first radio track from "Highway Companion" is "Saving Grace,” which was world-premiered last month in front of 20-million people on ABC-TV’s NBA Finals. A special video stream of “Saving Grace” is now available at tompetty.com.

This year, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of their self-titled debut album. For this 30th anniversary, Academy Award-winning director/screenwriter Peter Bogdanovich has signed on to direct a comprehensive feature/film documentary about Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. Over the past 30 years, Petty & the Heartbreakers have sold more than 50-million records, been nominated for 16 Grammy Awards, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002, the first year the band was eligible. Late last year, Billboard magazine presented Petty with its 2005 Century Award, the publication’s highest honor for creative achievement. He recently kicked off his second season of his critically acclaimed XM Satellite Radio show, “Tom Petty’s Buried Treasure.”

I'm leaning toward the shows at The Greek, mainly cuz it's a weekend & easier for me to make sure I won't have to work. You never know, though.

Just got this email:

Hollywood Bowl On Sale & Presale Dates Moved

Dear Fans,

The on-sale and presale dates for tickets to the Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles HAVE CHANGED.

The concert is still scheduled for Sept. 26.

Highway Companions Club members are invited to a ticket presale on Tuesday, July 18 at 10 a.m. PT.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Sunday, July 23 at 10 a.m. PT.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

Visit TomPetty.com for the latest tour information.

And I'm praying for a Van Morrison/Petty collaboration at ACL - seeing as Tom's been alternating between Gloria and Mystic Eyes for encores. Van is playing ACL 2 days before Tom, and currently doesn't have anything else scheduled, according to his official website.

dontlookdown 07-08-2006 12:47 PM

i think somthing might be up with the LA date.
My guess is that they're trying to keep a day open for a possible 2nd show.

Hopefully it's not a conflict with Stevie's schedule....

ragandbone 07-08-2006 01:18 PM

I am a member of the Highway Companions club, and didn't get an email about the Berkeley show, but I did just get an email about the Holywood Bowl change in presale. Thank you Nicks Fan, for posting, because I might have missed this otherwise!

I am going to try for the tickets at the Greek, in Berkeley, and if I don't get any, then I will go for the Hollywood Bowl show - with boots on! I was hoping for San Jose (closer) but it doesn't look like that will happen.

awww, lucky. I can't get mine until the Friday radio presale, hopefully there will still be hella, hella good seats. We should meet up. :woohoo: I'm still reeling that Stevie will be appearing at the Greek, it's a miracle to me. Great smaller venue, my house a 10 minute bike ride away...*sigh*
