Oh, the irony!!! The whole idea in my head to do this was because I was listening to "Whole Lotta Trouble" from Enchanted Disk Two and I was thinking, "man, she is really ripping this one during the bridge- what great vocals!"

And then the whole thing gets dumped on the very first round! :laugh:

Yes, the horns suck- but, other than that, I really don't understand the hate for this song. Eh, to each their own I guess....

As much as I love TOSOTM, I'm voting for another of its songs, Long Way To Go

How Weird, I consider Long Way to Go one of the top intense, serious, gritty rockers on this list. It certainly isn't mellow in music or vocal or lyrics. So, if all three of those things are rocking and gritty and intense, how could anyone vote for it so soon?

If I can save "Love is Like a River" by voting for my beloved "Blue Denim", then so be it.

Okay, so "Blue Denim" isn't exactly dark, but it is extremly forlorn and sad- and it rocks like a mother****er (especially the end) and I think Michael Campbell's guitar and the background vocals are excellent.

However, that being said- with eleven votes, we bid a sad farewell to my beloved "Blue Denim"..... :( :wavey:

Geez, are all your faves getting knocked off first? That sucks. As much as I love Outside The Rain, I gotta vote for it next, because for me, it just doesn't fit the bill as dark & rocking.

AND - I love Blue Denim (except for the trite simile of eyes like BD) - but I just do not find it as dark as, say, SOTM :shrug:

I'm sad too, but I do like LILAR a bit better. Tell some mofos to quit voting for it! Kick their asses! :blob2:

Wow, do you really think LILAR is less rocking than OTR? OTR is one of my favorite songs, but it simmers at a lower heat than LILAR. OK, that cooking analogy just made me hungry. Yeah, that's all it takes ... (i just typed "cakes" ...)

it's not that I dislike it, just doesn't fit the criteria better than the others, to me. but I do like the RAL outtake better too.

No way, dude! Unconditional Love and Jane (especially Jane!) are worse. I like LILAR.
