Billie Holiday won the last round and joins Prince, Talking Heads, Guns N Roses, David Bowie, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Tina Turner, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Led Zeppelin, Joni Mitchell and Tom Petty in the finals.

On to round 13 (and, yeah, I know Gwennie doesn't quite fit with these three but she fits even less with the remaining bands in the semifinals!!)

Gwen fits anywhere. :cool: Yeah, did you see they did Insider? OT, but I'm sti8ll in the throes of sorrow...

gwen is fab, but doesn't come close to tori in creativity, musicianship and performance cahoones.

Plus, Tori is just such a cool person and her music has helped SO many people through serious sexual issues.

Edit- okay that sounds kind of weird. A lot of her music deals with the pain of being sexually abused. She has been very inspirational for survivors.

performance cajones?! Anyway, I still think she's way more boring than Gwen, so she can have as much talent as she wants - I still won't be that interested. :D

Jannie- that having never happened to me, I prefer the inspiration of Gwen being super fabulous. I mean, she's inspired a lot of people to be cute and fab and hop around good performers. Including me. :laugh: She also inspired flat abs, flat chest. I wasn't a lick fab until she came out.

I voted for Ms Stefani because she's hot :o

Actually I also think Gwen is just a better act all round, so my vote isn't entirely frivolous. She is very cool.

Totally. They're all exceptional, though. I would definitely rather watch her always - and, I would rather listen to her, too, although all those other chicks are probably "better" singers. Like I says, charisma, charisma, charisma! I enjoy her lyrics most, too.

sorry I misspelled it. thanks. Gwen is awesome. I have nothing against the girl and she has more fabulousness in her pinky than some could ever dream to have.

Tori's not boring. have you seen her performance of Sugar, Precious Things, Bliss, Professional Widow? probably not, but I urge you to take a look and reconsider. I won't debate back and forth over it, so I will just say there is still no competition, in my mind.

Yup, being a "better" singer isn't everything - look at Bob Dylan :) I will admit to being effectively completely ignorant of Ms Apple and Ms McLachlan :o but I'm sure Gwen is better, even if she's not "better". I know what I mean anyway :woohoo:

No, I've heard she is a good performer. In that trapped at your piano way. :p (just teasing you, Jaz). I think they're all really good. I guess I mean, I find the others' either voices or live performances dull comparitively. But you're right, I've only seen a bare handful of Tori performances.

Yeah. They all play more instruments and have more classical virtuosity in their vocals (well, maybe not Fiona, she has a rough little voice) than she does.
Fiona is rad, though, she would be my second choice.

I must say I never thought a great deal of Tori Amos as I was exposed (in a good way) to Kate Bush first, and she is better at that kind of thing, in my humble op. :)

But doesn't Fiona always look so bloody miserable? Honestly, cheer up, stop being so moody and have a meal Fiona.

lol. yeah. I like Fiona, but when I saw her perform Extraordinary Machine, she was so uncomfortably sad it was like she was singing with her jaws wired shut.

She's a vegetarian. But yeah, she's pretty angry. She must be really, really, really smart. :laugh:

I love Gwen- I think she's hot and actually I enjoy her music a lot. Tori is just a really talented songwriter and interesting person. Gwen is fun and hip and has a lot of energy.

No Doubt who my vote is for. :rolleyes:

They all bug me but Tori won my vote for being a piano virtuoso.

Isn't Fiona just as much a virtuoso, but also with a crunchy/cool voice?

I haven't seen footage of her playing a piano live. So I don't know. But she bugs in an epic way.
