Surgery Tomorrow
I am finally having my damned gall bladder removed tomorrow. I will be in the hospital overnight, so won't be able to check in with my Ledgies until at least Friday.
Can you all think good thoughts for me? I seem to be having some major anxiety over this very simple procedure. Actually, it's the anesthesia that has me neurotic, which makes no sense because I've had general anesthesia 5 times with no problems. I keep having dreams that I don't wake once they've knocked me out. I need a sedative, I think. :o |
I wish you a safe operation, and a speedy recovery!
|
best of luck to you. I know you'll be fine. and just keep thinking about the most important thing...you'll FINALLY feel better! I'm so happy for you.
|
Good thoughts coming your way, Jannie :)
|
Good Luck and take care!! :wavey:
|
Take care of yourself, and good luck with your surgery. I know what you are going through, because I'm having surgery on June 12. Don't worry. Worrying only makes it worse. It will all be okay, and you'll be back on your feet in no time.
|
You'll be fine, no worries sweetie! Good thoughts coming your way! (You too, golddustwoman77!) :xoxo:
|
Good luck Janet! I'm sure the operation will go off without a hitch! Sending good thoughts your way...
|
Jannie...
My thoughts/prayers are with you. Wishing you a very speedy and comfortable recovery. :)
|
Best wishes, speedy recovery! :xoxo:
They've come a long way with anesthesia, try not to worry. And when you wake up - demorol drip - wheeee! At least that's what I had for my back surgery. |
I will be thinking of you while I am in surgery. Mine is at 8:00 tomorrow morning. Ugh ~ I hate being put under. I have been having kidney problems for a while and hopefully after tomorrow I won't be in constant pain. Good luck to you!!

Janet, you will feel so much better once it's done and over with. I'm praying for all my Ledgies who are having surgery done soon. :xoxo:
|
My sister had her gall bladder out yesterday as an outpatient. She was a bit nauseous afterward & in a little pain, but she's got her meds, so she's fine. Her husband is home with her.
Good luck to those getting surgery. :wavey: Lee :) |
I'm sending you lots of good thoughts & vibes for your surgery, Janet... and for a speedy recovery! :xoxo:
|
Good thoughts & vibes are going out to Pisces Queen & golddustwoman77, too. :xoxo:
|
I hope you have some wild beautiful dreams on your sedative, and that you recover from the surgery quickly.

And thank you to everyone else for your well wishes. I'm scheduled for 8:45AM which is great news. I was worried I'd have a late surgery which would suck (in light of the whole "nothing to eat after midnight") |
Best of luck with the surgery, both JannieC and Pisces Queen. Just imagine that there is a ball of white light around you and that nothing can harm you.

Good Luck on your surgery, Pisces Queen!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sure you'll do well too! |
Good luck all 3 of you!
Janet, it's an endoscopic removal right? I've had several friends (seriously ... at least 3, maybe 4) have their gall bladders removed in the last year or so. And they all said the surgery was pretty easy, plus they feel better than ever now. |

Hi Jannie. I didn't have a chance to post earlier but I am thankful you have a lot of well-wishers here at the ledge - we all love you to pieces! :D
I would imagine you are nervous on the surgery. If I could be there I would hold your hand and say everything is going to be ok. Surgeries are scary and, even though you have had some, there are the other concerns that you posted here that must be even scarier. I wish for all good things for you tomorrow. I am thankful you have your family to care for and tend to you before and after. Take care sweetie. As soon as you can get your hands on a laptop/puter send us a quick note...we will be here waiting to give you bunches of hugs Jannie. :xoxo: |
Just wanted to let you all know I'm home. Just got home a few minutes ago, as a matter of fact. I'm high and in pain dso I'm heading for my bed. But I lived through the anesthesia- yay! :xoxo:

I apologize if this post is intrusive but I care about those who mentioned they were having surgery and was wondering how you are doing now. I hope all is well and everyone experienced a speedy recovery. :xoxo:

I'm doing well. My doctor was able to get everything this time, and my prognosis is good. My doctor did say that it was the most extensive surgery he had ever done. It doesn't make you feel good to hear that! Therefore, my recovery period is long than for most of his patients with the same condition, so I'm going to be recovering for three more weeks than the usual. Hey, if it is going to make me feel better in the long run, I know I'll be glad I did it. Thanks for the sweet thought and checking on me. :p |
