Jazmen Flowers ROCKED the house at Night Of A 1000 Stevie's!
I was very impressed with Jason's voice. He did an AMAZING rendition of I CAN'T WAIT! He had so much energy..looked amazing and did THE LEDGE proud. We got to chat after. He was very sweet. What energy and an amazing vocal. I am proud of you Jason! Now..back to L.A. for MADONNA Opening nite on Sunday. P.S. Julia Roberts was not great in Three Days Of Rain on Broadway.... |

hello bitches. I am back from Wonderland. thank you for all the nice comments. NOTS was an experience I will never, ever forget and I'm still giddy over the whole thing. so, the short and sweet of my trip. got to New York Thursday, ate at TAO, saw RENT and got to meet Frenchie Davis (AI fame) backstage...she was awesome...and very sweet. Friday had soundcheck at The Knitting Factory around 7 and was a little nervous, but it ended up being a good runthrough. after changing and getting back, I got backstage with the other performers and couldn't believe seated next to me was Sherry Vine and later Joey Arias. very cool to see them in person. I did a short interview for some TV show (tho I can't remember which one). I finally got to meet my email friend Terri, another performer. then it was time...we all got lined up and went upstairs. everyone was so energetic and happy to be there. the Stevie Nicks Experience was awesome...Charlene Coran was so good...and overwhelmed backstage after her performance. Chi Chi went on and then it was me...I went last in the first act. honestly, after I did the first 20 seconds of the performance I don't remember much else about it...I was on adrenaline I guess, but I could tell my voice was right on (she was having a good night, thank god) and that made me happy. when I hit the note in the middle I was like, damn, I did it. the crowd was so amazing...so into it. after my performance I got to meet a few Ledgies...BlackWidow, Sorceress and sodascouts, and Travis...very cool people and I'm so glad they came out to see the shows. I was walking around and everyone was stopping me saying how much they enjoyed it...I took a few pictures with some fans...met Michael Musto and tried to enjoy the other shows. Amber Garbo was amazing. then I got ready for the battle. Edge of 17 Battle was awesome...all the performers back on stage sharing the Stevie vibe with the audience. I had a blast and am so glad and honored I was able to be part of the show. Chi Chi mentioned another event coming up, but I don't know many details, but I'll keep you all informed. now, the bad news...the video didn't work... I have a few pictures but no video. sorry. I think someone may have gotten video and I'm checking so there's still hope. I'll post what pics I have later tonight.
the rest of the trip was smooth sailing...ate at Lucky Cheng's - not all it's cracked up to be, imo thanks to Chi Chi, Terri, Hattie, Abbie, Diana and everyone who made the night so special. I really appreciate it. am I forgetting anything? probably. I'll update it as I remember things. again, thanks to all of you for being so supportive and sweet. |
It was nice to meet you Jason. Although it was brief you seem like a real sweetie. We spent much of our time downstairs. Loved loved loved being in a venue where they played Stevie all night long. Where else would we get to hear deep album cuts? However, the skipping of the tracks was too much. They needed to clean their CD player. But I did manage to hear some of your performance. To be honest, I really thought I had missed it. A friend of mine and I were looking for another friend who got lost in the crowd so I was a bit distracted, but I felt your energy. The crowd really loved it. Good job boo!
Travis  |

oh, and the skipping...yeah, I couldn't take it. that was crazy...I thought, oh this is a remix...then I was like, oh nope...their **** is just messed up. |
Jason, where are the pictures? I'm dying over here. xoxo
|
JASON!! You're KILLING me here...post pictures
Seriously, it sounded like an incredible night, I'm so glad you had such a blast...wish I could have been there...I'm so close..yet so far :\ |
So glad it went well. I wish I could have been there.

Wow, I am still on a high. I think all Stevie fans who are obsessed enough to be on this board need to go to NOTS. There is nothing better--aside from a real show, of course--than hanging with so many like-minded people in a place dedicated solely to celebrating our girl. Ya'll better get your asses there next year! And Travis, are you the Travis from DC? My friend and I are from the DC area and were talking about how great it would be to have a Stevie night at one of the clubs around here so we'd have another opportunity to get decked out in our Stevie garb and dance the night away. I remember something being organized maybe 3 years ago or something that I didn't get to attend. I wonder if there's any chance of some sort of fan event happening again? There have got to be fans around here who would go...there are always at least a couple of Stevie's in the Drag Race each Halloween! |

No.Video. I'm crushed. Did you sing I can't wait like everyone said? Is there audio? Do you have an audio from when you were practising before NOTS?
Throw me a bone, I just want to hear you do I Can't Wait! I'm glad you had the best time ever, and that "she" came through for you perfectly. :xoxo: |

Jason, sounds like you had a blast! Congratulations to you for having not only the nerve to carry it out, but to WORK IT in the process! I Can't Wait is a killer! I can't believe you hit all those notes, good for you. I hope you find video of your performance and you better get those photos up post haste! :xoxo: |

Welcome home Jazzy! I am thrilled your experience was everything you wished for. I know you have pictures so, for all that is right with the world, get posting!!!
I will be extremely disappointed if this event goes by without audio/video. :distress: I hope someone steps up with something! :xoxo: JAZZY!! :xoxo: |
thanks Niki. I'll post what I have tonight. hopefully, I can track down some audio or video.
I forgot to mention that a portion of the proceeds from NOTS went to a charity...I'm embarassed that I can't remember the name of the charity, but it's worth mentioning that the organizers help out. if anyone knows the name of the charity, please advise. the event was sold out within minutes of the doors opening. |
Hey Jason!
How was NY? We had a BLAST!!! It was great to finally meet you. We flew out really early so I could not stay all nite. How do the finals work? Prizes? An ultimate winner? What's the deal? It was fun singing along to STORMS! LOL! Wish we could have hung out more.... You were FAB! Andre |

and thanks for starting such a complimentary thread in my honor. I appreciate that. hope you enjoyed it. and sorry if I looked a little ragged when we talked...it was really hot backstage. |

yes, I want to go see her...trying to figure out exactly where to see her and if I can afford it. the cost of the NY trip and preparations for same wiped out my play money. |

What do you do for work in Missisippi? I saw Liv Tyler in a bookstore, Patrick Dempsy on the street, Sarah Jessica Parker taking her kid to preschool, Alan Thicke (who cares) in Times Square in NY. Constantine from last years American Idol was on the plane coming back..he said he was going to the finals. Do you watch AI?AI finalist Katharine goes to my church!!!!! |
Quote:
I am so jetlagged. I'm a paralegal. you saw lots of people. that's really cool you saw Liv and Patrick. the last time I was in NYC I got on the elevator with the guy that plays the villain in Ghost...he was oh so sexy and very tall. I saw Taylor Hicks Thursday night in Times Square. I do watch AI, although I don't really care who wins this year as I don't really like either of the 2 finalists. |
is anyone here also a member of Seven Wonders? they were really popular Friday night. and gave out cute little tambourines and keychains. they got a nice little plug by Hattie too right before I came on. I was just wondering if anyone saw Brian or Cyndi Lauper or can confirm David Hasselhoff was there.

Yes I'm the Travis from DC. Well I'm from MD but I work at Omega DC in DC. And yes, we did have a Stevie / Halloween party this past Halloween. If you click the link in my sig, the ad is still up. But it was last year's so don't confuse it for this year. I am planning on having one each Halloween as long as I'm at Omega. Before that we did have 2 Fleetwood Mac / Stevie parties. One in 2002 for "The Very Best Of Fleetwood Mac" and one in 2003 for the release of "Say You Will." Those were a little different because we were promoting new releases and I had promo goodies to pass out. The Stevie/Halloween parties is just something I wanted to do. I'll have posters up, a display table with rare Stevie pictures and "candles and crystals" ;-). It gives me the chance to play all of Stevie's videos and some rare clips. The date for this year has yet to be determined but it will either be the last Saturday in October or the one before that. |
here are the pictures that I have in order from getting ready in the hotel to the performance to saying goodbye to my new friends backstage after the Edge battle. a couple I am in love with...a couple not so much...I look possessed in a couple and I didn't realize how fat the rouching (sp?) of my outfit made me look...oh well.
