Private Stevie new idea.

What do you think of a Private Stevie Meet and greet where she would not perform, but do a 3 hour sig and snap and maybe 1 hour Q&A? Would you go to such an event? What would be the Max ticket price you would pay? (Knowing you would get a only a brief moments for a sig and snap, and that everyone would get the same) ? Followed by a Q&A? Just kicking around an idea. Feedback?

seeker007nmss 05-05-2006 08:13 AM

Sorry, thinking on this. If it was held around the sametime she was back in Las Vegas for a show anyway, would cut down on cost. Also non performing would cut costs also. Good for fans because many could then go to show already scheduled.

The question is would Stevie want to be in the same room with some of her fans. I was at the AHI 2001 after party and there were some kooks at that function. Stevie seemed uneasy with one certain guest and to be honest some of them scare me too.

This is true. The Wacky Wildhearts. That might pose a problem. That's why the questions might have to be written down and submitted. Then more security, and tight "rules of acting or you will be booted" clause.

I already paid $1,000 for that in '97 and didn't get an autograph. I'd pay top dollar for a very intimate concert, but I no longer care enough about "meeting" Stevie to pay for it. Maybe one day when she's older and her hair is silver gray, she'll write one of those books she's been talking about and will do a book tour.

I remember reading people's dreams about this a few months ago on The Ledge:

http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showth...orporate+party

People looked into the costs and didn't think it was doable. Did someone here inherit a large sum of $$$$?

Personally, I wouldn't be interested in that. But I would pay for the opportunity to perch Stevie on a large wood stool in a field of sunflowers & paint her ... set up my easel & palette & just start painting! She would be allowed to talk but not to move. And I would set up a boombox with speakers & play Scarlatti on a pianoforte softly in the background.

Sounds cool. What would you charge a bunch of us to watch that?

Seeker... I keep looking at your damn gray cat! I may just have to adopt one this weekend.

about five bucks a pop. plus you would have to supply a potluck lunch. I looooooooooooooove potlucks because of the extraordinary variety of foodstuffs!

What do I think, I think you're dreaming :sorry:. I will be shocked if Stevie shows up and performs a set at this Seven Wonders party let alone and meet and greet and Q&A. Her job is singing, and that's what she gets paid to do. All of the other things are perks for us fans when they happen and I'm sure she doesn't always chose to do them. A celebrity puts themself in an akward situation when they do the whole meet and greet thing being that close to fans and plus I don't think Stevie is dying to talk about her personal life with a bunch of die hard fanatics.

Put on lots of sunscreen, a beret isn't going to effectively protect you!

God, this forum is great! I haven't been on the Stevie board for a couple of years.

I think this might be the best idea. Wait till she's doing her Branson Concert and book tour!

What guest was it? Was it the guy in the wierd black outfit with the silver makeup?

Gypsy-Rhiannon 05-06-2006 04:08 AM

Too cute! I've promised my kids that we will get two kitties when we move. One each for them (but really they will be my babies!)

Funny that you say that cause I've always thoguht that will be the exact way I'll end up meeting Stevie, if ever. I used to tell myself that I could "make it happen" if I really wanted to, but I've been let down too many times. Now I figure if I'm ever meant to meet her, I will. And it will probably be at a book signing when she's old and grey like you said.

Would you consider Italian fields of sunflowers to do that? ;)

Yes, you can make your own badge - More glitter the better! Your duties? You must twirl - preferably at midnight, while wearing a shawl, looking for ghosts in an ancient castle, after riding a horse, and writing in your journal....or while doing the dinner dishes, or while you are vacumming the carpet while Stevie is playing in the background. Feel free to improvise...

With Scarlatti on the boombox, nothing else but Italian fields would do!

(The Van Gogh episode in Kurosawa's "Dreams" actually gave me the idea.)

Hell, I do that anyway! Hurrah! :woohoo: :]
