That second one is the best shot of John I've ever seen. It's actually pretty sexy.

Those are fantastic David! Thank you for sharing them with us.

Not a bad shot of John's penguin tattoo. If only it was a little bigger, I could take it to my local parlor as a reference.

Sahara 04-13-2006 04:37 AM

 Wow!! John .... was ... singing?!!

Probably not. It's just that at this point in 1977 he was still doing some of the between-song talk, often in a humorous manner. Soon all that would change however.

I also think that with that light from above he looks a bit like that carpenter guy who was born about 2000 years ago.

Wow thanks so much for sharing those with us! They're great!

It's right on the cover of FM's The Chain Box Set.

I'm curious to know what's "weird"?

they are fabulous, as usual. thanks for posting.

cliffdweller 04-13-2006 01:58 PM

^^^^ Yeah, what's weird about them?

I love how they're all grainy and antique looking from way back then :p. Nice David, thanks for sharing.

Colour me stupid. Mind you, it came out when I was 4 years old and you can't buy it anymore, so I haven't really seen a big version. I might just get the classic penguin with the crystal ball anyways...it would be more recognizable.

wondergirl9847 04-13-2006 06:42 PM

I know!!

I've said before that John looks like Jesus especially in the cartoon on the Chit Chat Ledge. LOL

Well, he looks like what everyone thinks carpenter guy looks like. I don't think anyone knows for sure.

wondergirl9847 04-13-2006 07:16 PM

Bwah!

True.

John looks like what white, Christians think "carpenter guy" looks like. ;)

golddustwoman77 04-14-2006 10:09 AM

Thanks for sharing those, David! I love Christine's expression in the fourth picture. Too cute! :p

I disagree. Carpenterguy alright. But his son the fisherman, who was born 2000 years ago is playing guitar on the first pic.

Thanks David, these are holy!

And so are your pics. Thanks for the side boob shot in the 6th pic - sex-ay! ;)

gldstwmn 04-19-2006 10:33 AM

What was the stand up bass used for?

"Never Going Back Again", I presume.

I was thinking the exact same thing

Mick looks horrible in that one shot. Yikes. Dude needed a vacation looks like.

I notice that Lindsey did that crouching, bouncing up and down freak out thing during solos even way back then.

Is that a cocktail in Chris's hand in the last pic?

Wouldn't be surprised... it looks like it. I like her shawl! I have one like it, only in white.
