Chris, Mick & John on the radio 1990
Here's a Feb. 1990 bootleg recording of Chris, Mick & John on the Howard Stern radio show! They were promoting the upcoming release of Behind The Mask. It's a pretty big file. The interview track is just under 15 minutes long.

"server too busy"..........hmmm, first time I've ever gotten that!
I'll keep trying. Thanks Mary Anne.:xoxo: |
Yes, server's busy right now.
But Mary anne, you so rock, love! I've always been curious about this old Howard Stern appearance. |
Busy for me too! weird. but i LOVE this interview, it's a riot. Mick is oddly silent, probably stoned off his *ss, so it's really just J and C havin' a good old time w/ Howard. :xoxo:

Did you notice that she never answered Howard's question about the pre-nuptial agreement? |

true, she didn't....;) John's line about having the rooms arranged always makes me laugh. and the way Chris counters w/ , 'oh, look, they're trying to squeeze juice where there's absolutely nothing!' Also cute is the way john says he has a little girl, a year old, 'here's her picture!' it's like he was wearing it on a pin or someplace really accessible! and I'd so love to know what he did that made everyone laugh when Howard asked if they still felt any of that old passion for each other?! He must have looked really crushed that chris said no LOL. -Lis |
Could you imagine if Mick, Lindsey, and Stevie did the Howard Stern show? The band would SO break up!

Wasn't he the one who made rude remarks about Stevie not too long ago? Gail |

This was quite amusing, actually. Considering how rude Stern can bem I thought he was on his best behavior with the three of them. He gives John a lot of good-antured ribbing, but he steers clear of insults to Christine. And well, Mick is in his own world. In part because of technical problems.
I thought Stern's whole rant about Lindsey was hysterical. |

It was cool that they knew who Christine McVie was right away (stern/robin)

Didn't he make some remarks about her not too long ago - something like Lindsey must think "how did I bang her". Or was that someone else? Gail |

She's very professional so she wouldn't have a go at him on air but I got the impression that under different circumstances she might not have been so polite. she didn't say too much about his comment about "making him (Eddy) sign something" or the fact that "an american should be getting all that money" Yes his rant about Lindsey was hysterical! I also thought it was pretty funny when she said that she was married to a Portuguese guy, one of the women on the show then asked her, "Where did you get him?" |
Quote:
She "got" him from the studio in Montreux didn't she? Perhaps he was on special offer?  Gail |

This is amusing... John's sense of humor really comes across here. When he "comes alive", that is. I like when they ask Mick if he's still with them. Mick sounds like me in the morning. "Yeahhghgjhfmumblehere..."

I'd say it was rather unpleasant.... -Lis |

Howard talked about a public television concert he watched where Fleetwood Mac performed. He thought that there were some odd things going on between the band members. He talked about how Stevie Nicks is fat now but she's still doing the moves she used to do when she was hot. He figures that Lindsey Buckingham must look at her and wonder how he ever banged her. Howard said there was some weird dialog between the two of them during the concert and it's almost like a soap opera. He played some audio from the special where Stevie is talking about Lindsey. He thinks that Stevie is still in love with Lindsey after seeing that. He also said they they're a really good band and they still sound good these days. He played a few clips from the concert and complimented them on their performances. So yes, Howard has said rude things about Stevie. But for Howard Stern it's not so bad, he ends in an appraising way. |

I always wonder why celebs bother talking to Howard if they're not going to play along with Howard's game. |
