Madonna: Confessions Tour (dates, info, etc.)

I know I started a thread about this a while back, but I thought since the tour dates have been announced it would be better for all to start a new thread.

Anywho...

http://confessionstour.com/ is the official website of the tour.

so far, here are the dates:

NORTH AMERICA:

May 21 Los Angeles Forum
May 27 Las Vegas MGM Grand Garden Arena
May 30 San Jose HP Pavilion
June 5 Fresno Save Mart Center
June 8 Phoenix Glendale Arena
June 14 Chicago United Center
June 21 Montreal Bell Centre
June 25 Hartford Civic Centre
June 28 New York Madison Square Garden
June 29 New York Madison Square Garden
July 08 Boston TD Bank Garden
July 12 Philadelphia Wachovia Center
July 16 Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall
July 22 Miami American Airlines Arena

EUROPE:

July 30 Cardiff Millenium Stadium
Aug. 1 London Wembley Arena
Aug. 3 London Wembley Arena
Aug. 6 Rome Olympic Stadium
Aug. 20 Dusseldorf LTU Arena
Aug. 22 Hannover Niedersachsen
Aug. 24 Horsens (Denmark) Forum Horsens Outdoor
Aug. 27 Paris Bercy Stadium
Aug. 28 Paris Bercy Stadium
Sept. 3 Amsterdam Arena

seems like a fairly short tour and where are the small, intimate clubs that the world was abuzz about? too bad she's not coming anywhere near me. Surely she's got some more US dates up her sleeve. I'm bummed that she's not doing to whole club thing at least a little or in a couple of spots, but I really knew it wasn't going to happen.

who's ready for mariah's tour?

;)

tommer 04-03-2006 01:29 PM

where the hell is that Tel-Aviv date? it was reported here that it's gonna be confirmed as sept. 17th, and it's not on that damn list ! :( :distress:

i can't buy my summer vecation tickets till i know a date (if there is indeed one), and it's getting me a little nervous. :(

dissention 04-03-2006 01:34 PM

With tickets priced up to $350, may she be cursed with a horrific cameltoe from those leotards all tour long.

I'm sorry to hear that Jason. Hopefully you can find a way to go. I know youre a big fan.:)

Livia 04-03-2006 01:50 PM

Not one, single Texas date, but she's playing in Fresno??? WTF?

GypsySorcerer 04-03-2006 02:07 PM

She's not coming anywhere near me. Chicago would be the closest, but it's not like I can afford $350.

It bums me out, though; I have wanted to see her for a long time. :(

See that's what bugs me about pricing that high, stories like yours. But I guess its capitalism isnt it?:(

I recognize that she commands a certain price tag, but $350 is ridiculous. Whatever happened to artists who charge $30 for good seats?

I have paid $30-40 for country acts and have sat really close, but I guess a lot of them don't have the demand.

You know, country stars really do keep their prices in line, which is good.

I imagine they don't have the overhead Madonna does... a dozen dancers, intricate set-designs and lighting, projection screens, costume changes (for her and all of the dancers), backing band, and so on and so forth.

Unfortunately though, all of that stuff makes ticket prices extremely prohibitive and leaves a lot of people out in the cold. I'm certain there is a very large portion of her audience who can't afford to fly somewhere to see her and pay those ticket prices on top of it.

Here is an article on concert draws and from it:

Madonna's average haul of $4.6 million per concert, however, was the highest among all acts. By this measure, U2's $2.0 million average ranked No. 4.

http://www.variety.com/article/VR111...goryid=16&cs=1

I read somewhere that Madonna gets almost a million a show, which is rather staggering. But, even if that is half true, that is still a huge amount.

I wonder what the lowest priced Madonna tickets will go for. Surely the $350 price dissention quoted must be the top tier.

Or fan club or something. Nobody in their right mind would pay that much to see her.

Well, it's often been said that any artist's seriously die-hard fans aren't quite in their right mind. ;)

Quite a number of people on the Ledge went to see multiple shows on FM's last tour. I'd bet that, after factoring travel expenses, hotel accommodations and ticket prices, any number of them easily spent $350 just to see one show.

Fair enough. But thats WITH other expenses factored in. These tickets are $350 a pop.

True... very true! :)
I think it's safe to say though that a lot of people are willing to pay a lot of money to see their favorite artist.

I'm too frugal. Even if I went to concerts, there's no way I could ever, in good conscience, spend that kind of money. But more power to those who do... life's too short, I say enjoy it however you see fit.

JazmenFlowers 04-03-2006 02:58 PM

as Cher says..."it's better to look back and say 'damn, I shouldn't have done that'" than to regret not doing something.

I spent an ungodly amount on the whole Vegas thing last year. Really, the only artists I would sell my kidney for would be Stevie or Barbra. There's no limit to what I'd spend. honestly.

Now...someone call the looneybin.

well, keep in mind too, that this may not be the final list of tour dates. so, there's still hope.

Exactly to be where I wanted to be. I don't like Madonna so I would not spend one cent on her show but I would for The Mac in a heartbeat.
By the way someone I work with is a Barbra Streisand fan and he said that she is doing a show ( he did not know where however) and that a ticket was $1300.00. Imagine that one. Kind of glad that I am not a Barbra fan either but he said that no singer can put a smile on his face like she can. I sort of felt bad knowing that he won't get the chance to see her live due to the amount of the ticket. If I see a contest someplace to win a ticket I am going to enter his name.:)

About Barbra? That's what my coworker told me. I don't know where she is playing but then again he did not know either. He just knew that the tickets were $1300.00.

Livia 04-03-2006 04:53 PM

I heard Babs was gonna do another tour, and that $1300 would be the ticket price. I think I saw it on perezhilton.com.
