How do you like your eggs?

I know, I know, too much (clap clap) time on my hands.

Scrambled with ham & cheddar cheese, a dash of black pepper & ketchup on the side.

Over easy seasoned with fresh ground black pepper.

I'm also a whore for omelettes - ham & cheese, mushroom & swiss, spinach & feta, bacon & cheddar, Mexican.....the only thing I don't love are raw green peppers or onions. Other than that, throw it in!

Oh! And egg sandwiches on anything - bagel, toast, English Muffin, biscuit - it's all good baby.

JazmenFlowers 03-21-2006 04:15 PM

I rarely eat eggs. I can't stomach them. But if I do, they must be scrambled.

Prefer over-medium. I don't like a big raw chicken yolk staring up at me forlornly.

I love omelets!! A brunch without an omelet station is no brunch at all!

Egg sandwiches rock!

Also love eggs poached (with or without hollandaise), fried, scrambled, hard-boiled (or hard-cooked), etc.

DrummerDeanna 03-21-2006 04:22 PM

Unfertilized ;)

Richard B 03-21-2006 04:22 PM

Scrambled!!!

I am fond of poached eggs too...especially Eggs Florentine or Eggs Benedict. But it has got to be a hard poach. Hate runny eggs. Yuck.

Omelette's are wonderful as well. I have all kinds of favs as to what they put in it. Mine are the best. ;)

Gypsy-Rhiannon 03-21-2006 04:34 PM

I think I'm an egg whore! LOL! Scrambled, omelet, egg sandwiches and boiled egg with toast soldiers!

ragandbone 03-21-2006 04:38 PM

poached eggs, on buttered toast, or over-medium...or (and I never get to have these) coddled eggs.
I also like omelettes with a little curry in them, chives, and cream cheese.
hungry now.

jannieC 03-21-2006 04:59 PM

I like them in many forms, although at 2 (weight watcher) points apiece, I haven't had one in a while.

My fave though is over medium. I like the yolk runny with the white part totally cooked.

BTFLCHLD 03-21-2006 05:02 PM

scrambled...omelet..deviled...salad
but i have to be in the mood

Having said that, I can stomach an egg white omlet wioth green onions, tomatoes, ontions, and peppers.

As an aside, EggBeaters are egg whites with yellow dye.

Good lord. Now that's a racket!

I like eggs scrambled, poached, over easy, boiled, deviled, saladed, etc. The whites have to be firm but I don't mind a soft yolk. I can't believe WW has them at 2 points they're only about 70 calories!

Same here.

Patti 03-21-2006 05:47 PM

I love eggs but the yolks are really high in saturated fat and cholesterol, so I eat mostly egg whites, which are pure protein. I like them scrambled or a ham and cheese omelet. On very rare occasions, I will eat them over easy, like maybe once or twice a year. I like deviled eggs, too, but eat those only maybe once a year.

DavidMn 03-21-2006 05:48 PM

Favorite is Scrambled, followed by over-medium. I like it when the egg white is hard but you can still dipthe bread in the yolk.

*WARNING. This may startle those females easily shocked at the thought a heterosexual male able to cook at home*

I can only eat eggs scrambled. No milk, cream or anything else in them. I scramble them in a wok with a little groundnut oil only. Constantly turning the egg mix.

If I have egg fried rice, a favorite dish of mine, especially with chicken. I prefer large chunks of egg so I scramble them before adding the boiled rice in. The "proper" way to do it is to pour the scrambled egg over the frying rice but I don't like this method personally.

..yes, I do believe your EFR is very nice...:)
Can someone please explain what "over easy" means, it's an American phrase, I don't know

Well, I'm the exact opposite. I'm gay, and I've been known to burn ****in spaghettio's!

hayley 03-21-2006 06:14 PM

I have eaten more eggs in the last four or five months, since dating my current boyfriend, then I had in ten years. It's probably bad but they're just so good.

If I'm cooking eggs, I make scrambled eggs. I like to overcook them and dry them out. If he's cooking, as he always is, I like them over easy, with toast to dip in the yolk. I love a runny yolk. He made some scrambled eggs last week with blue cheese crumbles that were amazing.

You crack the egg in the pan, flip it, then take it off quickly. Over easy means pretty much everything is runny.

I love eggs in a multitude of ways, but the best has to be Eggs Benedict (yes, it deserves to be capitalized). With crispy strip bacon on an english muffin, smothered shamelessly in hollandaise sauce. Throw some hash browns and toast on the side and BOOYA, you have the perfect breakfast. Wash it down with some fresh apple juice and a vanilla milkshake and you'll totally piss yourself. Its astounding I'm not huge.

Egg whites (albumen) are an excellent source of protein as seen here http://www.bodybuildingforyou.com/pr...gg-protein.htm

Scrambled and sprinkled with black pepper.

Or there's a dish that I order at IHOP called Migas, which is scrambled eggs, cheese, tortilla strips, and jalapeno peppers. Serve that up with a big glass of ice cold milk and I'm in heaven.

tuigirl 03-22-2006 01:46 AM

oh thanks for the explanation JannieC..haha, seems I've been doing "over easy" eggs for ages then, I've always liked them this way

HomerMcvie 03-22-2006 03:03 AM

I too, am an egg whore!
Scrambled is #1, although I have to scramble them in the blender, because I must KILL that squiggily little white thing. That thing makes me sick if I get it strung out on my fork. I only buy cage free brown eggs for "breakfast". I'll use the cheap ones for other cooking. Ketchup only if they don't turn out 100% like I like them. I also like to throw a slice of Swiss in them. The key is cooking them "slow and low". Mine always used to turn out like ****, and Mom told me it was because I was cooking them as quickly as possible(like I do everything).
Eggs Benedict are wonderful, too. I'm often just too lazy to dick with the Hollandaise sauce, though. I made EB this past Sunday.
Fried are okay. I like the yellow runny, BUT THE WHITE MUST BE HARD AS A ROCK!!! If the white is runny, well, it looks like a load of............on my plate. Runny white is complete nastiness!
Omelets are good, too, although I need a better omelet pan. Used to, I had good luck at getting them to flip, but not so the past few years.
Is there a secret to a good omelet pan?

I know!!! I have yet to totally master the technique though, so I usually feel I have to compromise the yolk's runniness (to a degree) so I don't wind up with a big plate of spooge.

So have you found a way of totally getting around this?

Not really. Like you said, you have to compromise a little of the yellow, in order to insure a spooge-free plate! That's probably the main reason I rarely do fried.........fear of the spooge!

Certainly over-easy rather than sunny side up will assist in a major spooge decrease. Beyond that though, I'm at a loss.
I'll let you know if I ever find the answer.:)

Did you know that Whitney Houston loves IHOP. It's her second favorite place to be. ;)
