I know I should be posting this in the FM forum, but who else thinks that the Black Eyed Peas are trying to copy Fleetwood Mac's style? I think it's ridiculous that they think they can!!

Isn't imitation supposed to be the highest form of flattery?
I think Fergie is cool, anyway! |

SO TRUE....lol....But i think Stevie shaking her "hump" would be sooooo funny and so cool!!!! lol...Seriously who would have thought?!?!?!?! |

AND in that respect i think it only fair that she be offered a cameo :p |
Actually, after listening to one of the Black Eyed Peas' albums (this was long before I read this post, probably a few months ago), I had come to the conclusion that they were the hip-hop counterpart to Fleetwood Mac, at least, as far as crossing over to different genres of music and not being afraid to be different. Just my opinion, anyhow.... :)

I think Fergie is gross. Have you seen her lately, she's so mannish! Way too much work too. I shudder at any Fergie/BEP/Stevie comparisons.

Pattie .... I think I am older than you and I remember Kids Incorporated! lol
I LOVED that show. It totally rocked. Strange how Fergie looks nothing like she did when she was a kid .... usually you can see SOME similarities. Martika is cool too ..... Toy Soldiers and all that ..... |

You are older then me? I don't think so but I don't know your birthdate so I can't say for sure. What year did this 'Kids Inc" take place in anyway? |

With the exception of "My Hump" (which was, incidentally, written by one of the male members of BEP and NOT by Fergie) and "Let's Get Retarded," I like the Peas. I have their first album, Elephunk, and rather enjoy it. And I still maintain that I see no similarities, in terms of musical style or dress, between The Black Eyed Peas and Fleetwood Mac. I also highly doubt that a group like that would list a - let's face it - dinosaur such as FM as one of their influences. Somehow I don't think that classic pop/rock had any effect on the sound of that group. Just my opinion. |

![]() Aired: 1984 - 1993 Show Type: Live Action Country of Origin: US Show Summary: Kids Incorporated (also known as Kids Inc.) was a children's television program that premiered in 1984 in syndication (On NBC from 1984-85) and on The Disney Channel 1986-96). Winner of various Young Artist Awards during its nine year run, it is remembered fondly by adults who were in their teens in the 1980s. The show's production companies included Hal Roach Studios (aka Qintex) and MGM (aka MGM-Pathe), both of whom had produced the popular Our Gang (Little Rascals) short films of the 1930s. This TV show launched the career of Thomas W. Lynch, who would go on to produce "The Secret Life of Alex Mack" and "Romeo!" among others. The show consisted of a group of young teens (that occasionally shifted every few years as members grew too old to be "Kids" and were replaced) who performed cleaned up versions of pop music standards of the era, with most of the Kids noticeably pretending to play their own instruments (they did sing, though). Along the way, lessons were learned through the conflicts of the kids (e.g. the value of honesty, or why not to cheat on a test.) Some very notable people that were on Kids Incorporated was Fergie from Black Eyed Peas also known as Stacy Ferguson, Eric Balfour (Six Feet Under; Sex, Lies, and Secrets), Jennifer Love Hewitt (Ghost Whisperer) and many more. A very good resource for mp3's, video, and tons of pictures is http://www.kidsincorporated.us |
I was just old enough to catch the re-runs on the Disney Channel and was in love with Kids, Inc. Of course, I wanted to be Stacey (Fergie's real name). I was in love with those kids and when Stacey and the other girl, can't remember her name, who played her sister came out with a girl group, Wild Orchid, I was all over that too. They were bad, but a good bad...Talk To Me and Supernatural were their biggest songs. Believe it or not, Fergie/Stacey has a powerhouse voice. I am not crazy about her anymore, but I ain't hatin' either.

Uh, I think it's a little thing called coincidence? I dunno, makes no sense to me how they pose for one picture, and suddenly it's copying FM's style. Would Fergie, as old as she actually is, have any idea who Stevie is?
