I was just listening to my local radio station...and the dj was saying how there was just a concert conference this past week ,where management and local officials get together...He just announced on the air he had heard Tom Petty and Fleetwood Mac may be coming here this summer sometime!!!!!:] :] :] ..You should of seen my face when I heard this>>after I did a happy dance in the kitchen ,lol I called the radio station to find out WTF??? He said its only Rumours right now..but he heard it from someone who was at meetings..I told him what I had heard through here.and he is making some phone calls to try and confirm it all...
Do Tom Petty and FM share the same management team??
Ohhhhhhhhhhh I would just .....die? no want to live to see this..:lol: But I did tell my boss before if the Mac ever came here I would work for free..I told the dj that and he put it on the air...LOL:lol: Stay tuned I will get to the bottom of this one..

Well, considering each Fleetwood Mac member has their own (which is why it takes so God-awful long to get anything accomplished by the band)...Tom Petty MIGHT have the same manager as one of them. :shrug:

I think Tom shares East End management with Lindsey.

Stevie and Tom definitely do NOT share the same manager. I can't speak for the rest of the members of FM.

I really hope this is just a rumour and they are not touring together. That would drive ticket prices up even more and make it more difficult to get good seats as we would not only be competing against other FM fans but Petty fans as well. As if ticket prices weren't already expensive for SYW, they'll be even more w/Petty.

yes..well I dont know really...See it was a huge huge deal here last year when the Stones played..eighty five thousand..it was a 5 act concert..big names..(Maroon5 Our Lady Peace Tragically Hip)so they are looking for a repeat at the new concert site..that was built especially for the stones..so the city is actually wanting to bring in big name bands for at least 2 mega big concerts..one in the summer and than again like Labor Day weekend..they are also saying Maybe U2.. for one of the concerts...He is on the phone right now ..:eek:

I have to agree. I wouldn't want to sacrifice lots of money and a large amount of time to see a show that was only half the Mac and half bloody Tom Petty.

Well that would be awesome for you if FM played up your way! I hope that happens, I just don't want a Petty/FM American tour but it doesn't sound like that is what is happening. It's enough I have to pay to see Stevie share the stage with LB (less songs for her), don't want to give anymore away ;). No offense I would just rather see Stevie solo than w/FM but I'll take either!

Don't get your hopes up, kids. In my experience us fans find out everything WEEKS before DJ's do. Everything I've ever heard on the radio I knew about already, OR it ends up being a mistake. They announced that Stevie was rumoured to do a show here once & it never happened.

I hear ya..I am trying so hard not to get to excited about this but its like OMG..lol do you have any idea how often I have whined and cried for Stevie..or Fm to come here..:laugh: My poor husband..he hears it all the time..:laugh: Well if they do come..I guess I am working for free..cause the dj just put my whole conversation with him on the air....(maybe my boss didn;t hear it) :lol:
Rumors eh..aggrhh..can drive ya crazy.. But you never know..no one thought the Stones would ever play here.. so gonna keep hoping...fingers crossed .toes and eyes too..:laugh:

:nod: the fishing village i live in is called the Lobster capital of the world.. but really its not any cheaper ..unless of course you get it off one of the boats ..and depends on the time of year also..funny thing is .since I moved here 4 years ago..I hardly ever eat it. or clams.and I always couldn;t wait to get them when I lived out west....

Dj just got off phone with city hall offical.. ..:distress: :distress: he says there are saying they can not deny it or confirm it...at this time..so dj is saying well its not a flat out no..:confused: on either Fm /Petty/ U2...so he is going on saying as far as he is concerned its "Almost" a for sure thing.....
ARGHHH..I just emailed him.and told him if it wasn;t true .he was gonna have to play all the FM/Stevie songs I request for the next month...:laugh:

EDIT: I just read on another board that someone heard on their local radio that Tom Petty was supposed to be touring. This was from someone in the USA.

:laugh: Canada eh...aww it would be so cool ,if this is true and they do cross country tour..Moncton to Vancouver...whoo hoooo.
Anyway won't know any more news until tomorrow..The Dj made a few calls live on air ,but the people he wanted to talk to were not in..so he only got assisants and voice mail..so he said he will keep trying..

Apparently he is..this news comes from a conference that was held in Toronto with different promoters and managements..They get a list of who or what bands will be touring and then the fun starts seeing who can get what band and where..

Tom Petty has a new album due out this spring...along with a tour that will be filmed by Peter Bogdonavich...however the hell you spell the dude's name... anywho..he's filming the tour for a Petty documentary.

AND.... Fleetwood Mac and The Great Tom Petty and Heartbreakers touring together? F-ing Amazing. But for those of you who love Petty like I do... then you would have to think this is un-Petty like.... Two totally different tours merging..ya dig? But I hope they do...I'd sell a kidney for that show.

I agree it doesn't sound like something Petty would do. He doesnt like to charge very high prices for his shows, and always accepts a smaller guarantee to keep prices down---something that would not mix well with a Fleetwood Mac show, as you all know Fleetwood Mac gets the most they can regardless of how high it drives up ticket prices (not saying they shouldn't, but they do!)

oh my god - that is a good sign. it was canada music week here in toronto last week. i actually know someone who was at most of the conferences and stuff. if i bump into him at work, i'll see if heard anything.

stevie and tom together are my dream tour. i would pay huge bucks to see insider done live. not to mention i will run to you. okay. i would actually pay insane amounts of money for that. and you know, if they play Moncton, baby, there's no way they won't play toronto!! :) :) and i'll be at BOTH shows (er, plus the others in detroit, ohio, etc etc etc)

Yep he did, which I still see nothing wrong with, unlike many. That's a little different than charging your fans ungodly prices to see you.

Where is everyone getting the idea that Petty and The Mac are touring together? I thought that they might be on the bill together for this show in Canada and that is it. That is why I asked if Petty was touring. I haven’t heard that The Mac are going to be touring so I would not get my hopes up for them just to do that one show.
Now that does not rule out any possibility that Stevie might join Tom on a few songs. :laugh: She did that back in the 80s. That of course was when she released Bella Donna but now she has nothing new to promote. Chances might be slim.

Right ..I really can;t see Petty and the Mac touring together either..but you never know..It could be for this concert ..or it could be that Petty and then Fm will be here ,but at separate times. There is word going around that U2 might be performing here too..Now I really can;t see that happening all at once..But like I said ..its a big big concert venue and the city is going all out to try and get some of the biggest names to perform here.They keep saying they want to Top the Stones performance from last year.After the Stones it sorta put Moncton on the map..so its anyones guess..I have the radio on now and am listening for any news..
on a side note..my boss called me last night...:) He said.."I knew it was you .when I heard the woman say she would work for free..:laugh: He seems to think its going to happen too..:shrug:

I hope it means that Tom Petty AND Lindsey Buckingham are touring, MAC-less. Yes, they have the same management and Lindsey has performed on a couple of Tom's albums- it's a workable relationship! I'm hoping!
