Stevie touring the USA again?

Has anyone heard any rumours about Stevie touring the USA again? Perhaps with an orchestra? I really, really want to see Beautiful Child once more! I love that song to death.

Sahara 02-25-2006 02:35 PM

No way. She's coming to Europe, dammit! Right, Stevie? Right?!

Heehee.

danax6 02-25-2006 02:46 PM

Pay attention you selfish people, she is coming to Europe next! :wavey:

In that New Zealand article that just got posted, she said after this tour, she was going to take off October and November. The last Oz date is March 7th, so that made me wonder, "Well, what's she doing between March and October?"

Glad to know I'm not the only one who did a "huh?" to that. :o

Seventeen years we've waited for her to come back to Europe to do solo shows. I think America can wait a little longer, while she tours here.

The last time she played Dublin was 14th November 1989. Four days before I was born. Tis a sign, I'm telling you!

I really hope she comes here. If she doesn't I'd love to travel to the UK to see her but the chances of that happening are ... well ... :(

They say that people like doing gigs in Dublin, we always give them a great welcome.

I hope not...I think its safe to say ALL of our bank accounts need a little bit more time to recover:laugh:

Here is what Stevie had to say about it in a New Zealand Interview Today!

You mentioned Lindsey before. People have said that while you have worked with other writers and producers, like Sheryl Crow for example, that he still brings the best out of you. Despite whatever else that has happened between you, in a working relationship you can still do it even today.

Yes, that's fair. I have a lot of respect for his ability to take one of my songs and ... I'm not the best musician in the world so if I sit down at the piano and play Sara for example it is very, very simple. And very, very long. Someone like Lindsey can take a 15 minute song and - much to my horror - edit it down to seven minutes then makes it build and arrange it. That blows my mind because that is something that I can never do.

So we have a great relationship when it comes to making our music.

And where does the Mac thing sit now?

We just finished 135 shows not quite two years ago but when I go home after this tour I am going to take October and November off, and we are discussing whether Fleetwood Mac wants to tour next year. It's 50:50 there and its just down to what we decide over the next few months.

We had a meeting right before I left and it looks good. Its good for me to keep the both going because its fun and they are very different. Never a boring moment if you have both. I've had the both since 1980 so I run back and forth between the two.

Why do the bands forget that there is more to canada than just Toronto??? wahhhh...Although since the Rolling Stones played here last year.the concert line ups are starting to really take shape around these parts......Please Stevie come to the East Coast..I want to be your stage hand assistant....

AliceLover 02-25-2006 08:48 PM

I have a feeling she might play some European dates!!

England probably.

MacMan 02-25-2006 08:51 PM

I thought she was in Toronto in '01... Here's the date. Sept. 10, 2001. Time before that was in Ottawa and Toronto in August of '89  And she's never done a solo show in Vancouver I believe... or Montreal. So she's due damit!

i truly feel your pain, my friend. you know i do. i think these days, it's purely a numbers game. how big is the potential audience? i remember when i lived in montreal (and was going to concerts, like from 1985-1995), everyone - but EVERYONE - played toronto, ottawa, and montreal. as a rule. these days, you're right - most play only toronto. biggest canadian market.

i only ever saw stevie solo in ottawa and toronto. she never played montreal solo. i believe... though i could be wrong... fleetwood mac only played montreal on the tango tour (which i saw!).

you are SO right - it was the day before sept. 11th, and i was going to travel from montreal to toronto to see her. and for some reason, i just didn't. and i remember being so glad that i wasn't driving home from toronto alone to montreal when the towers were attacked. fate.

WelshWitchPMD 02-25-2006 08:58 PM

IMO I think that she needs to do some European dates. I don't think playing the sheds again this summer in the USA is a wise move for her in any way.

RockALittle250 02-25-2006 09:23 PM

Maybe she'll be working on her supposed "Best Of" album. Some new material perhaps?...

Serendipity 02-25-2006 09:25 PM

Once more for those that missed my earlier pleadings....ENGLAND!! PLEASE!! OH tho not August 22nd on wards! PLEASE!!

Back to your regularly scheduled ledgie-ing.

correct me if I'm wrong but I think her last solo show in Canda was in Toronto in 1989 during the Mirror Tour

My bank account is ready to suffer. Oh please Stevie, my heart skipped a beat when you mentioned taking Nov and Oct off. Could it be true? Could you maybe come visit us here?

I think it's unlikely though. As popular as Fleetwood Mac is, Stevie Nicks solo is just...not.

That's right, I was there. I spent our last nite of a terror free world as we knew it with Stevie, I'll never forget it. Stevie flew out of Toronto and into New York on September 11th :distress:

Stevie's conception of time: kind of baffling to those of us who actually have a calendar in front of us or a fairly thorough knowledge of the months of the year.

She's cute & all, but she has never seemed particularly lucid to me -- either in speech or in song.

I think Cat..who lives in To..has the right dates...me I was living in the wilderness then...bc/alaska...so all I had were my memories of the early 70s 80s when I lived in the states....sighh

GavinBrown 02-26-2006 11:56 AM

Stevie will release her live cd/dvd this summer, and in promoting it, do another summer US tour....there is a possibility of her doing a Euro tour, but I wouldnt get my hopes up just yet...

Peter, that's a great animated GIF you made from the Landover '83 show! You should make a series of those & line them all up in your sig!!

Rickypt 02-26-2006 12:16 PM

Definitely sounds like Stevie is planning to keep touring this year, if she considers September to be the end of the tour. Would be fun to have a European vacation built around a few Stevie shows. Much better than the lousy sheds.

Even if she got her months wrong, she only mentioned two of them, so if she meant April/May, that still makes me think she's planning some more solo stuff this year.

:blob1:

David 02-26-2006 12:21 PM

Stevie & Fleetwood Mac always release their concert videos/DVDs after the respective tour has finished up (Tusk doc, Bella Donna, Mirage, Chris Video Album, Red Rocks '86, San Fran '87, Dance '97, LIB, Soundstage). So that probably means that Stevie's Melbourne DVD won't be available until possibly the very very end of the year or even early 2007.

BUMMER!!!!

Makes sense. Why put your band together and rehearse for a 10 date tour of Australia and then stop. She decided to go on last year after Henley pulled out of their summer tour after 10 dates. I really hope she comes back through the states (and Europe). This is one show that I'd see again in a heartbeat. I'd gladly accept seeing the release of the dvd around Christmas, if it meant I could see her live again. OH PLEASE STEVIE, I NEED A NICKS FIX! :woohoo:

You have every reason to be hopeful. She's pretty clear in the interview that she plans to keep busy, even though she'd like to take a break. Makes sense to me that she'd consider a European leg of Gold Dust Tour.

Serendipity 02-26-2006 07:30 PM

Rickypt, I think I loves you!! Thanks for keeping the hope alive for the European fans :)
