As far as Mac related, I've been watching DVDs quite a bit lately...The 1975 Largo DVD with Chris actually fronting Fleetwood Mac is the best Fleetwood Mac show on video, with "Why" & "Spare Me A Little" being my favorites. Someone was also nice enough to send me the 1973 Midnight Special on DVD("Miles Away" & "Believe Me"). Other than Christine/Fleetwood Mac, I've been listening ALOT to Paul McCartney's new CD, Chaos And Creation In The Back Yard. I'm listening to it right now as I type. I LOVE this CD! It's way, way, way better than his last album, which I didn't like at all. "Fine Line" is my favorite song on the album. |

And, you've got the Midnight Special!(we need a "green with envy" emoticon) We NEED some tech savvy Ledgie to bust this stuff up into individual files(or the whole thing), and post them to Kazaa!!!! Am I the only Kazaa dork here? |

Now Playing: I don't know....some minor blues thing...oh, yeah...Allman Bros Band "In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed"....from their 12/31/73 show at the Cow Palace in San Francisco...with Jerry Garcia sitting in on guitar. |

Both of those Midnight Special performances are on YouTube. Have you seen them? Someone posted instructions in the Stevie forum(not that you'd want to go there again:lol: ) on how to save stuff from YouTube to your computer. It was somewhat complicated, at least for me. I also know someone who was able to get it from YouTube & then upload it to YouSendIt. I'll send her a private message. I have no idea if she can do anything since I believe the files are pretty big. |
Brandon had Miles Away(or was it Believe Me) on that Megadownload thing, but it kept freezing up my system.....I guess it was too big for my processor.
And yes, I've seen them. SEEing them isn't good enough for me! I WANT them!!!! |

By the way, I already had them on videotape, but the DVD I just got is of even better quality!! |
Ok Homer, your guardian angel, Mary Anne:angel: requested videos for you...
Miles Away I should have the next one shortly. Eliza |

What else did they play on the broadcast besides Believe Me & Miles Away? |

The arena is actually in Landover, not Largo -- but the Largo name has stuck through the years. There are four FM/SN pro-shot videos done there: 1975, 1978, 1979 & 1983. |

I love them too, but I knew nothing about them before Mary Anne asked me to capture them. I have a renewed appreciation of Bob Welch/C. McVie harmony, and that solo with slide is beautiful, dreamy, perfect! Oh yes, and I like the LightBright backdrop. Eliza |

The thing I noticed was how little equipment there was on stage (and Mick going at his tongue like it was Bazooka Joe). |

Mary Anne's the best too, isn't she?:woohoo: PS- so HOW do you post these? Do you have to convert them, or capture them? If they're too long, how do you edit them down? Teach us, oh tech savvy one!:) |
Currently listening: myself singing Songbird.
|
Oh, I am not so tech savvy, but I do dig around looking for answers on tech forums, and I found an application (mac) that can use the screen cap feature for moving images - Snapz Pro. I like it pretty well so far, the obvious limitation is that any problem with the stream, of course gets captured too, and I am re-compressing an already very compressed image. I haven't tried to edit much, except that video I posted quite a while ago in the Rumours era forum, the footage from Mick's home movies - used Imovie for that. I think BTFLCHLD is the savvy one in that area.
Did someone post the method for saving YouTube videos to your computer? Brandon had mentioned he would. I think it requires downloading another viewer app... Quote:

I am still listening to Christine's "In the Meantime" quite a bit. The recording hasn't gotten stale for me at all!
Also listening to my favorite Greenie tune, "Rollin' Man," the Madge jams, Kirwan's "Station Man," Welch's "Miles Away" and "Emerald Eyes," and the Sausalito live '74 version of "Spare Me a Little of Your Love." Outside of Mac, I've been listening to Stevie Wonder's "Music of My Mind" and Henry Mancini's delicious instrumental, "Lujon." \ |

Ok, here are the instructions from the Seven Wonders thread. I haven't tried it myself...
1. Type in a URL in the following format... http://www.youtube.com/get_video.php?l=165&video_id=[add the YouTube video ID here] E.g. http://www.youtube.com/get_video.php...id=cccboCTd4GQ ... where cccboCTd4GQ is the video's ID. You'll see the video's ID in a couple places on the YouTube page for that video. It's the string of random-looking characters in the video's web address URL after the ?v= and before the next "&" ... or the same characters after the ?v= in the Video URL (Permalink) field under the Share Details section towards the bottom of the page. 2. When you load the URL that you created in your browser you will be prompted to save the file Save the file, then find it and rename it to whatever you like, ensuring the file extension is changed to .flv 3. Play the file in a media player that supports FLV files Here's a standalone FLV player for PC: http://sweb.cityu.edu.hk/50689882/flvs.zip And for MAC: http://sweb.cityu.edu.hk/50689882/flv_mac.zip |
