A new way to share songs

I have a good idea. This is a way to get the songs you want, and give songs to other people in the process. It is a give-and-take that will please everyone. The idea is that someone requests a song, and by providing it, you can request a song of your own. Then a third person provides that song, and makes a request of their own. Let's see if this works.

As we are just beginning, no one has requested something yet, so I'll just provide something at random.

This is "Fall From Grace" sung live at the Blockbuster Awards. Everyone should have this stellar performance.
http://s63.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0...110C9R7VOTX2K5

Now, what I would like is the demo of "Beauty and the Beast" where Stevie and Tom Petty are talking about Jean Cocteau's movie. Where she is saying she is going to get a copy of the movie no matter how much it costs.

Anyone have a live version of "After The Glitter Fades"??? :blob1: :blob2:

vermicious knid 02-16-2006 01:09 AM

No, you see, it's a give and take. You share a song of your own at the same time you are making a request. Either a song that someone has already requested, or something else you think people will like.

About the song, since I collect Beautiful Child live I'd like a version I don't have yet, like Tampa, Duluth, Albany, Manchester. Portland, or Hartford...

I should have a version from the Enchanted Tour so you can compare them. I'll try to get it up later.

I love when she says "this is from an album we did oh, about a hundred years ago" lol and the crowd goes wild. Did she say that at a bunch of shows before BC? I think so...

Judging from the versions I have, Worcester is an unicum about the "hundred years ago". Excluding the "songwriter" variations, she usually said "this is from a record that we did in 1979 called Tusk, with some small changes sometimes like "a very long time ago" or "many many years ago". And besides that, Worcester has always sounded to me a particularly intense rendition of the song... But I love them all.

Here's After the Glitter Fades from Chicago 1998. Sound is not as good as the Woodstock show, but I don't have that one ripped onto my hard drive.

http://s4.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=22...71OX7WDQMGAG9I

I'd love for someone to post me Insider live - the one in my hard drive has static pops in it & it's nearly unlistenable.

I have it at home but I won't be there for another 3 hours. If it's not posted by then I'll put it up.

Gotcha! I was wondering because it wasn't in my English dictionary. What language do you use it in?

Whatever the case I love that she said it, very cute and the audience totally got it. That's one of the best SYW shows IMO. Do you agree?

It's one of those concise and useful latin words that are now also part of Italian language.

ooooh, Chris - Thanks for posting the one with talking. I love stevie talking. I like how enthusiastic she is. How interested. How she thinks things are wonderful.
Geez, I wonder how much Stevie worked this song out before. Is that her playing the piano? It stayed the same in the real song. It's all pretty worked out.
Stevie is so great.

I have a great version of Landsline from Worcester SYW in 03' where the crowd is totally singing along and gets really loud during the pause "well maybe...." and Stevie says "what a voice, you have!" and the crowd goes wild. I will post tonight from home.

I don't know if there is a live Storms - there's at least one labeled "live" but it sounds like a demo. Storms has never been done live at a show that I know of.

Thank you for putting it up, but unfortunately this is not the one. The one i mean is much slower and you hear Stevie's voice a lot better. It's a bit like the one on Tusk but much sadder.
